Hi Meepok, No probs. Tat jacuzzi arr.. actually I just wanted a(ny) bathtub & i knew contractor oredi order normal built-in tub. I was surprisingly delighted when HB asked, & my contractor so nice, said no probs, can cancel order cos not yet delivered .. so HB got it (tub oso serves 2hide > of tat "incompatible" blue-top, peach-bottom bathrm tiles! Now I know y some owners wanna overlay bathrm tiles). I guess it's ok if ur bedrm color happens 2b peach/blue tho.. Sure, been thinkin of gettin carpet.. I'll be waiting4 deliveries frm Fri aftnn & parts of da wkend. Will sms u guys b4 I drop by, Tks!

Hi Toppie, Painting shud not hv taken tat long. In fact I was surprised when, arriving around 1+pm one day & my entire house oredi painted (dunno wat time both painters started but v.fast). Painters said they'd return next day to touch up some pipes (esp tat ugly yellow pipe in kitchen) & hsehold shelter. Possibly even paint another coat.. but I so happy to see da colors I didn't even ask. One of my room colors look darker than in book (I dun really mind) but ppl tell me it's normal. So, it's max 1-day kinda job. Don't let ID pressure u into final payment cos based on yr above account, it'll tk some effort to get workers back for any rectifications. Hv a final, thorough check of yr hse b4 handing over cheque, never mind any black face or pressure tactics. Tell ID, like any agreement, u need time to look thru handover agreement. Meanwhile, ID gotta ensure all paintin & rectification.. done or else, how to sign handover? U gotta right to access yr hse at anytime. Remind ID if change num lock agn, hv to update u. If not, waste yr time hunting for ID & waitin. I got delivery cal, gotta go.. All da Best in yr handover!

Meepok so kind, quickly show me rest of hse, kam xia! Wat carpet?? ..I got two hsehold deliveries tmr, one is 2-5pm (hv asked them to call me an hr b4 arrivin), can see carpet if u ppl stil ard by then? Meowie, u very da Fast ah! I step outta my flat & u oredi in my neighbor's hse : ) when I hadn't even met them earlier cos they jus started reno.

Hi Ryuki, (my pc acting up..dunno wat happened to my earlier reply but here goes again...) If u hv B&W, at least got recourse/chance la but may tk time cos ur ID now playin cat & mouse game. But read & see if any conditions tat absolves ur ID of a full refund. Be mindful of any time frame for such refund. Dun feel foolish, u oredi learnt & now even sharing w us. Jus press on (ur ID!) For a start, email/write to ur ID co., citing contract & stating communication bet both parties todate. Tis oso serves as record/for future reference in event u nid2 tk any further action. After lunch@ AMK tdy, me & HB decided to pop by but whilst rounding da corner of building, oredi see many (metal) barricades alongside it to da entrance. Guess there was a crowd there earlier! Many congratulatory floral arrangemts@ entrance & (wat-u-call-those)sale bins w bedsheet sets. I din look closely cos couple of aunties grabbing ... but I tink I saw bins priced@ $5, $9.90 ... Tho I oredi bought a no. of household items, still feel like buying...house phone, standin fans, tv, cooker.. I saw a tv (not brand/size I'm after) tat's marked down fr $5,499 to $2,299 for Courts card member! I wan buy another bed frame but HB advised to move in 1st & assess how much (more!) space we got left (wet blanket, pour cold water only!) If u got nothing much on tmr & need more furniture, can check it out. I asked staff who said AMK outlet renovated/converted into market hall/Mega Store concept ie. sell in bulk & more mega deals (yeah, today ppl queue 2pay, rather resembles "market style" w stacked up goods4 easy pick-up, aircon not tat cold..) Cheers, P/S - I no work4 Courts. I oso tink their hire purchase scheme.. But if u buy Expensive items, ask4 0% interest instalment payment schemes they hv w selected banks (I know many hv spent tons on reno & e hi inflation... spend wisely lor)

Hi Tension, Tks for showing me yr hollow tiles & other parts of yr house today. I didn't know you went thru so much earlier cos by the time I reached yr place late afternoon, hot & flustered (i forgot aircon remote so, few hrs "sauna" while shop electrician put up remaining light & fan-light), I jus listened & looked@ those defects you pointed out. The cut-leg tiles were pretty obvious so, when the Replacement tiler came & you pointed them out, I oso 'beh tahan', went to step on raised edges & told him v.sharp.. I believed he said he will replace those but dunno abt hollow tiles cos I gettin missed calls & returned call2 technician who oredi at my house. I tot if yr tiler refused to rectify, I gonna add that raised tiles (sharp or otherwise) are dangerous cos can cut & hurt/cause accidents... good thing he understands but, he din do anything despite being there? Huh?? Since you hv conveyed yr items-to-rectify to ID, there's little reason for such slipshod! Guess u got2 tell ID firmly 2coordinate & ensure ALL defects done properly & ASAP. When my electricians told me 1 pendant light can't be shortened, I brought back to shop which said can shorten so, i told shop you shorten it OR exchange tat light. I dun wan to keep calling my electrician to & fro. Just wan light up ASAP... Tat's why shop ppl came to fix instead. I mean, if shop ppl familiar how to shorten then they're in best position to put up light. So if tat (team of) carpenter can't deliver, ask ID to get another carpenter to fix. I'm relating tis cos I oso quite patient but when tis light kept giving me probs, I had to cut the nonsense somewhere. You tk care ok, dun stress too much . I get crap too, maybe not together but here & there.

Ennovy, adding onto Alister's remark.. more paint esp on handles may hamper the opening-closing efficiency. Yeah, the grills not aesthetically appealing. We tot to remove grills esp bottom 1s but eventually decided against it due to security reasons, esp if u got kids/ visitors' kids ard the house.

Hi Meowie, HDB officer oso told us & handed over a copy of window grill guidelines. Mentioned to HB some owners weren't told & he said never mind wat type ... so long as Mas Selamat can't climb in, it's fine!

Hi Babymaro, Tks for add, will check it out. Meowie - same tots, huh? Wat Jacky777 suggested is good esp for those who hv yet to do their wardrobes & hv such need. After my wardrobe oredi been designed, HB saw similarly at Ikea so I asked my carpenter who agreed to compartmentalise one drawer so tat HB can put his ties/novelties. Fella said he will bring the compartments tis week..

My hood fits in the woodwork slot pretty well, just worried if i'd asked my carpenter to cover more of the top/ventilation area than warranted And Meepok, yes, yr hood sure looks diff fr mine tho they're both slim type. Agree w Sushibabe, gotta take a look at that manual, check for mention of ideal cabinet dimensions.. I bot the Turbo E600060 hood. Anyone w similar 60 or 90 cm hood, I dun mind take a peek : )

Hi Tension, Sorry I missed yr reply (I was thanking Meepok & hehe, multi-tasking/doin some group camp admin thingy). Mine's a horizontal slot too, then asked carpenter to cover more cos gap looks too wide. May be best to hv quick browse at hood manual in case it affects yr cabinet thingy.

Hi Meepok, Mine is a slim hood (dun expect to cook much la) so from sideways, it's like a box from da back & curves downwards towards the front. Has some 1cent-size holes/outlets on front top (uncovered by cabinet) but there's tis 1 larger hole on top (must look4 manual at new house). Am worried it's also another outlet cos I hv only allocated a couple of inches of space on top/within the cabinet. As for yours, you can still open yr cabinet doors for max ventilation. Hi All, I'm new to tis forum & am currently doing reno to my unit in 79. Coco, noted u bot Turbo hob & hood; me too. If yr hood is not chimney but flat type, how much space hv u allocated on top of hood for ventilation? Any advice frm others are also most welcomed.
