Thanks alot! Actually i don't really mind replicas as long as they are nice, I'm not an ang moh though... I will check out the 2 shops you recommend. Now having a hard time trying to visualize what I want and how to mix and match modern with oriental furniture pieces. I requested my ID to create the ambience of oriental feeling and she is having a tough time due to my low budget. hahaha.. Thanks all who replied to my post. Appreciate it.

Hi! I came across this "cleansing" procedure from one of the web site I surfed. Space Cleansing Procedures I have been asked many times by clients on how to do space cleansing for their home, especially if the home they are buying is a resale apartment. Everyone wants a fresh start and a new beginning and is concern about what they can do to ‘get rid’ of the negative energy. There are many ways to do it but what I am about to share with you is a proven method used by spiritual Masters and is especially effective. The ingredients you need are 9 Kaffir lime leaves, 3 Kaffir Lime, Chinese Tea Leaves, Rice, Rock Salt and Kemayan incense. First of all, put the Kaffir leaves and lime and put them in a pail of water. Remember the key is to cut the limes into half and squeeze their juice out and squeeze the leaves too while putting them in the pail of water so their juice comes out. Some leaves really emit a very strong smell and the stronger it is, the more effective is the cleansing. Next, with the pail of water, start by cleaning all the major ‘chi’ entry points in the house starting with the main door. Proceed on with all the windows in the house, not forgetting the bedroom doors as well. This procedure symbolizes a new beginning and using 9 leaves means getting rid of any previous negative energy and having a new beginning. If you have any remaining water, you can use this to clean your furniture or mop the floor. The most crucial step is to take care of all the chi entry points in the house. The third step involves mixing the Chinese tea leaves, rice and rock salt together. Use this mixture, throw it on the walls and all areas around your house freely (especially the corners), this time starting from the most inside of house, usually one of the bedrooms, then moving outwards and finally touching the main door. As you do this, within every space, close the windows and doors after one section and proceed on to the next. It is recommended to chant a mantra as you go along to enhance effectiveness. Depending on your religion, you can choose what is most comfortable for you. For Buddhist clients, you can chant this powerful mantra for purification ‘Om Mani Peh Me Hone’ for every throw you make. Finally, do the Kemayan smoke cleansing after all the other cleansing procedures discussed earlier have been completed. You can use a few Kemayan together and again starting from the Main door and slowly move inwards, covering every sector of your house. Chant the mantra again as you move along. Sometimes if you feel that the chi of your home is getting stagnant, you can also undertake this space cleansing procedures. Usually I recommend clients to use the kaffir leaves cleansing for their home, before the start of every Lunar New Year to give them a new beginning for the New Year. The mixture of rice, rock salt and Chinese tea leaves is more necessary especially if you have purchased a new home and are unsure about the history of the previous occupants. Or you feel the presence of unwanted spirits and wishes to find a proper way to invite them ‘out of the house’. You can undertake the Kemayan cleansing regularly to keep the energy of your house purified, preferably every week for best effects. Space cleansing can also be done if there are unfortunate events happening in the house like a recent demise of a family member or if you have experienced a spade of bad luck and felt that everything is not going in the right direction. You can use space cleansing to get rid of the bad energy and start afresh. It is recommended that you wear a protection amulet while you undertake your space cleansing procedures to ensure that you are also protected during the process. Hope it helps!!!

How To Solve This Fengshui Problem? Toilet Dr Facing The Bed.
fortunecookie replied to cuian01's topic in Geomancy/Fengshui
How about buying those "dangling beads" or "blinds" to seperate your bed and toilet? Those can be mounted to the ceiling and definitely save some space. The toilet door MUST be closed, best is the toilet bowl cover to be closed as well. Just my personal humble opinion. -
Hi! From what I know, fengshui items are not necessary to be "kai guang". nevertheless, kai guang items are known to be more effective but alot of things you need to take care. Some Kai guang items need to be "worshipped" by putting a cup of tea everyday, or maybe fruits. For example, the pair of 貔貅 people used to placed facing outside the door is known best to be most effective after kai guang. Accordingly to legend, they loved to impress their owners by bringing wealth gathered outside your house or from your neighbours/passerbys. As for some fengshui items, they are used to block / ward off "sha qi". The idea of placing the item in a strategic spot alone is enough. No need to kai guang. Example: Gourd or golden coins, etc. All the above info is what I had gathered from books and internet and also from my own sources.

Hi! Hope everything will go smoothly for you. By the way, all the while I've heard it is not good to place cactus in the house. However, my friend told me about Pasir Ris fish pond story. There area used to be quite "dirty" and the owner planted numerous cactus. This advise was given by a professional shifu. But then again, the cactus was actually planted outdoors, not in the house. So it is really subjective. I'm moving house soon, bought a resale EM and the feeling was good when I stepped in the house. So I think I won't face the same problem last time. *finger & toes crossed*... May good fortune be blessed upon you and your family.

Hi everyone! I just purchased a EM recently and I was thinking having a modern oriental design for my new house. I'm sick of modern or sleek look as my previous flat is of such design. Furniture is easy to mix and match, the problem for me, I think, is the wall colour and floor tiles. Please give me some ideas if any brudders/sistas here have any.

Hi! I'm new here in this forum but I want to add in my own opinion. For my previous flat, (sold off already), I was the 1st one to move in and basically the whole block is dead quiet at night. But before I moved in, I did "cleanse" the area myself, with the guidance from my mother. For myself, I did not meet with any abnormalies but my wife felt something strange now and then. She was "scared" when she was in the room alone, the feeling very hard to explain, its a feeling of "not comfortable". There was a time she was "pinned" to the bed and she tried to shout for me, I was in the living room watching TV, nothing came out from her mouth. Well, some may say this is very common, a sign of stress or fatigue. But I think it is otherwise. My wife NEVER had this kind of experience before. back to the topic, both my wife and I are free thinker, thus we did not have any altar for "god" in our house. What I did is open my windows in the afternoon to let my house filled with sunlight. On top of that, I placed a few cactus in the house, heard from a friend that cactus can ward off evil spirits. For the bedroom, I hanged a gourd. The entrance to my house, i placed a statue of "Guan Gong" (not blessed) but it was an advice given by a Fengshui master. After all these, strange to say, my wife felt nothing thereafter. Above is not from professional advice but what I had personally done for my own unit. I had friend living in a terrace, "haunted" by a female spirit. The whole family plus the mate saw it. Despite numerous blessing from monk and Shifu, the situation did not improve at all. It was only when they approached a Thai monk and they placed a "4-faced God" in their garden and nothing happened after that. To conclude, i think a house must be comfortable. If you feel anything "strange" or "wrong", it is best to seek help. Thanks for listening to my long story.
