staying blk 90. well not sure if someone left the half-filled bottle of water there after doing it or whatever. just a wild assumption on my part. but why would someone leave a it there? i assumed it was done in the middle of the nite or so as i came back home ard 11 last nite and the bottle was not there and left at 8am today for work and it was there. i did not see the guy take anything.. or maybe he was abt to take something but i happened to open the door at that time and he backed out? cos the shoes were still on the rack. but who leaves shoes on top of a cupboard shoe rack? talking abt police, saw them come in the lift on the 8th flr today as i was going down the lift. was in a rush so did not ask them what was happening but could be something impt as we dont usually see cops at our place at 8am.

hi. moved in beginning of the mth. some of u got stuff stolen, i got a 'present' when i left my unit this morning. someone left half a bottle of mineral water diagonally outside my door. maybe some kids left it there after having sex in the stairs. last sat afternoon, when i was opened my door, i saw a guy carrying a big bag standing at the other end of my corridor looking at my neighbour's shoe rack. when he saw me, he walked away to the lift landing. by the time i reached the lift, the door just closed, but i managed to get a look at him thru the lift windows. indian man in his 40s, medium built, ard 1.8m tall wearing round gold framed glasses, carrying a very big sports bag slung over his shoulder. the occupants on my floor are all chinese. i walked over to my neighbours shoe rack after that and saw a pair of shoes on the shoe rack. knocked the door but nobody was in so could not find out if they had anything stolen. i will try to find out if my neighbour lost anything if i happen to catch them next time when someone is home.

got my quotation from them. compared to 4 others, cheaper by 10%. my impression is the guy seems to know his stuff well and gives pointers such as the pros and cons on what u want to do. even showed me a flat he done up a year ago, so i guess his customers are pretty satisfied.

speaking of locks.. did anyone else here also did what khrizangel did by welding the joints on his iron gate?

oh? urs so fast? mine status still 'in due course'. i rem my 1st appt earlier than urs.

hi just received my HLE. my 1st appt was 3 weeks ago which was also the same time i applied for the loan. the only indication given for 2nd appt is within 3 mths from the date of 1st appt. if u want early collection, then u can write in to the officer in charge of new sales. his contact details are on the form u received notifying u of appt date, which came with the brochures. so which block u got and what type? mine is blk 90 - 5rm.

oh ok.. so urs was still based on the old system.

hi applefreaks, i know hdb says collect keys within 3 mths of 1st appt. in ur case, how long did it takes u after 1st appt?

taking things step by step first. so many things to do, haven even ROM yet!

que is in number sequence. just look for the ticketing machine. its near the info counters.

my que 30+. i took unit 328 in blk 90. simple procedure, jus get a que ticket by scanning the barcode on your form against the ticket machine scanner. wait for ur number to appear on the screen and go to the allocated cubicle. the officer will cross check all the docs and explain the procedures to u. our whole process took abt half hour, incl filling in the hdb loan application. oh ya the first thing the officer in charge asked me to do before everything started was to select our unit first to lock our selection in first. so now wait for the letter for 2nd appt.

hi all queenstown applicants, jus selected my unit today. seems like the discussion on queenstown more hot at singaporebrides forum. nikevmanx, i believe u got ur unit of choice y'day, if u r still in this forum... decided on blk 90, eventhough the FS reading for blk 89 is better, but i had to take into consideration the daily sound from the mrt and the main road. now jus waiting for the keys!

will be getting my FS master to assist in unit selection nxt wk.

where did u get the appt date?? hdb website?

thats one of the reality of staying in hdb.. pple jumping, kids playing all sorts of games, shady characters from other neighbourhoods hanging ard. now this estate looks all nice n clean.. give it a few more years, colours start to fade, litter all over, lifts got funny smells, etc. upside is the location, good long term prospects in terms of value. can't have it all... but its good enough still.

for those already staying at tanglin halt, do you walk under the airwell or around it? i understand at least one person has jumped down and looking at it, it seems this air well is a conveinient jump point for future jumpers. not trying to stir any sheeit here as high chance i may be moving here so want to know the current residents feel abt it.

its either tanglin hot or stratmore.. i actually prefer holland drive but dun want to wait til 2012.

yah agrees. flats these days so small, bigger one will be better.. good to keep a distance sometimes.

eyeing the 5. jus came back from a recee of the plc. seems like the sound of the passing mrt amplifies throughout the entire estate, even when we were at the 22nd storey. checked out strathmore ave after dat and it much quieter. only downside amenities such as food n provision shops quite a distance to walk.
