Hi sensei_erictan, Me and my wife also experienced theft on our shoes. Both our running shoes were lost. We learnt our lesson never to leave our shoes outside except for those older shoes. At first we thought the theif was after those branded shoes. But just last month or so, my wife's slipper was stolen and a pair of old slippers which does not belong to us was placed outside our door. From then we knew it was a prank and the fellow was out to have fun. Duno who so boliao as to do such sickening pranks. Just be careful not to leave any shoes lying outside liao.

Hello neighbours.. My reno is almost up.. left some paintings to be touch up.. and a few glass panel and electrical works.. BTW.. Do ur experience that the the power circuit tends to trip often? Cos i've been to my house a few nights.. and sometimes when i switch on certain lights, the power just trip.. wonder if its common or my electrician didnt do a good job? One thing is that i got alot of lights around the house.. hmm And also how much roughly does it cost to install window grill? Any feedback on ktypes and kinds of window grill.. Thanks I'll be shifting most of my things tmr.. should be anytime can move in.. At last reno is completing soon.. next will be furniture hunting and lots of cleaning up of the house.. When its more ready hope to invite all neighbours.. erm will there be any house hoping? Hee.. i missed those house hoping days..

I also dunno which ISP to use.. i wanted Starhub but my wife suggest we switch to Singnet.. Hmm.. also dunno which is better.. but with starhub can use the modem at another place.. hee But i wonder if any of u feel that handphone reception quite bad at blk 79? Dunno isit becos mine's Starhub network or maybe only at blk 79A then poor reception..

Hello neighbours, Just to share... Today, i went up to my unit with my parents. Then there was this guy who claim that our current gate is unsafe as it can be remove easily. He showed us a newspaper article cutout from Straits Times (which i just took a glance) saying that there have been cases of thieves removing the gates. So, his main purpose here was to help us to change to a better hinge which somehow reinforce the security. He said that most of our neighbours at BLK 79 has done it. He told us that it will cost us about $18-27 per hinge, depending how many hinges we want to change, it also includes duno wat spray paint etc.. While we r stil pondering, my dad ask him for his contact but he was unable to produce. So.. we rejected his offer. I was wondering if anyone have experience this before? Did any of you guys did change your hinges kind of thing? Thanks =)

Hi Speedmover, We have "booked" our gas heater from CityGas on 30JUN. Its also 8L.. they say will call once ready but yet to hear from them. When did you order the gas heater?

My ID said tat he will give me normal glass panel for the kitchen cabinet backing but after reading ur info, i think i will insist him on giving me tempered glass. Its near the stove leh... The funny thing is he honestly declared that thou he had written tempered glass on the contract, but he will give us normal glass. WTH!! My TV feature wall also got use glass and he say use normal glass.. wat u tink? safe ma.. ? hey thanks huh.. i was tinkin of doin a DIY water feature lahr.. so it wld be great if i can have the glass lo. Hi Jacky777, I can help u check if my neighbour has got the left swing Bedroom door.. I got my left swing door from Sushibabe.. but her's is toilet door so dun have the keyhole.. but i managed to swop wif my existing right swing MBR door.. After i got it from Sushibabe then i realised my neighbour also got the left swing door already with keyhole.. Do u still need it? i can ask.. Then do u still have the glass? can i have it? Thanks

Hello neighbours, I've a problem here but dunno if its the norm.. I wanted my foyer area to be pebble wash.. but later on decided to change it to another tone of tiles.. different from the main homo tiles. My ID quoted me $2.50psf so any tiles more than that have to top up the diff.. My foyer tiles is $3 psf.. At first he told me the foyer area needs abt 50 tiles.. so by right should be the diff in tiles, $3-$2.50=$0.50, then multiply 50 tiles.. = $25 But he charging me $250.. reason being.. - cos i requested for a slope cut (pic below), one cut $75, there are 2, so 2x$75 = $150 - i changed the tiles fr pebble wash to this tiles so the workers have to come another day so need to pay them workmanship pay $50 - then he charge me instead of $0.50 psf he charge $0.60 cos GST - he claim he order 70 tiles.. so 70x$0.60=$42.. but he round up to $50.. So total $50 + $50 + $150 = $250.. Is it reasonable? i asked him he told me it is standard.. very cheap le.. What i dun understand is that the foyer is only a small area and the diff in tiles is only $0.50 yet it can amt to 10x the price.. What do ur neighbours feel? I really need some comments and guidance

My wall just got hacked ytd.. also waited and waited for HDB approval.. kept calling Siti's office number but always engaged.. Indeed, if the wall not hacked there'll be delays.. Btw ask u how much u paid for ur KDK fan.. incl installation Happy reno..

Btw i'm shifting my MBR door to another side of the wall, thus hacking of that wall is needed. My ID engaged a PE just for approval costing $430. Is this amt reasonable? I also dunno Congrats Meowie49 and the others shift in le.. To Meowie49, How come door bell also can kena stolen.. hmm seems like here alot of theft case.. Must be more careful..

My MBR door also change to the other side.. did u engage a PE to hack that side of the wall forur new door? My ID engaged a PE $430 wor.. duno reasonable anot.. By the way, we have finally got back our $300 deposit after a long and tough struggle.. *Whew!* Now praying hard that the cheque wont bounce! It actually turn sour at the end, trying to argue with the ah beng manager. His arguement is totally crap and unreasonable, i think he dun even know what he talking abt. Probably just tryin to buy time.. *sweat* He actually offered us a counter price to our current ID, gave us lots of discounts and freebies.. which he claim to be giving us almost nett to nett. The way he talk ma chiam like talking "jiang hu dao yi".. Needless to say, we rejected the offer. After the whole fuss, how will anyone be able to trust them with their hse again? We went to those shops located at Balestier and also at Ikea but still have no idea how to select the correct lights. Notice some designs the same but prices varies. Issit due to the bulbs quality? Hi Hana79, howlupjac, Thanks for your advise. Indeed, it was a painful lesson learnt. Not only was the money lost, we still get ourselves into the trouble and stress. Haiz..... There was a term in the contract tat states within 21days. We rejected him on the 14th day and demanded for a refund. Today is the 28th day. We did not get a black and white from him for the cancellation. Not too sure if it will work if we sue him..

Hi Tension! Actually, before we decided on our current ID, we did a comparison. We even sat down with him and told him his quotes were rather high.. He gave us reasons which we discovered later that they were just a form of excuses. We found our current ID honest and straightfoward, who we feel more at ease with and his quotes were reasonable. Note that the deposit was paid on our first visit to get the quotation from him. He sketch a few perspective drawing and quoted us the rates on the spot. Maybe it was the pressure used - if we sign up today, he will include the freebies ... Maybe it was the refundable deposit stated in black and white and he promise that the cash will definately be refundable ... How naive we were! We feel bad when we rejected him.. and wanted to give him a small angpow for helping us out. But but.. now we feel so silly. Haiz...... U've got mail on home Interior..

Hi neighbours! Just some updates .. Have been really busy after the house hopping 2weeks back. Went around to search for ID and finally confirm my ID. Cant wait for the renovation to start!! Haiz...... But we are having some hiccups in getting our deposit back from our previous ID. We were promised a refundable deposit in black and white contract while we still deciding if we want to confirm him. Today is the 3rd week since we have rejected this ID and ask for a refund. Intially, he told us that it will take 1 week. We waited and nothing happened. 2nd week, called him and he told us he is going down to his main office to collect our cheque. No follow up after the call. 3rd week, (which is today) he told us to meet him at his office to collect the cheque at 7pm. Then called again to postpone to 8pm... Receive his call again at abt 8pm, told us he is willing to give us $1000 off the bill. We rejected and that was the last time we heard from him. We waited till 11pm... still no sight or call. Tried call him few times, no reply and he even rejected my last call! w%#^$&%#**# *fUming* Felt like a fool lohr!! Lesson to all : NEVER EVER PLACE A DEPOSIT UNLESS YOU ARE DEFINATELY COMFIRMING YOUR ID. Money easy to go in, difficult to get back.... PS: I wil not disclose the ID firm here, if u need to know PM me.

The fountain is indeed an iconic feature then Although i dont live in TPY but my childhood days were spent in TPY. Cos i stayed in Balestier and my school is at Potong Pasir and TPY is where i hang out often. Always felt i was a TPY kid.. hee When i was young i always wanted to live in TPY when i grow up. And guess what, i got selected during the feb balloting ex and i know i'll choose TPY cos my queue number is quite small. So happy when i recieved the news when i got selected, haha Guess the nxt step is to do up my house. So looking for ideas and ID from magazines and books while waiting for my keys. Regarding ur doubt about toilet in kitchen most or can i say all 75sqm has their common toilet in the kitchen but for 79A only our row of units has toilet in the kitchen. The unit beside u has their toilet along the passageway. I knew this cos during the balloting excercise i compared alot of other units. Yar. I chose the toilet in the kitchen cos more convenient when wash clothes. Yup. By the way, came across that u went to watch Jeff Chang concert? I also went with my fiance that night.. haha

Hi everyone, Just bought a unit in TPY blk 79A during the recent Feb ballating excercise. Came across this forum quite happening so hope to know more neighbours and friends in this community. Now still looking for ID and thinking of how to design my house. Will be collecting my keys ard end Apr to May. Anybody tried Living Art Interior located at blk 177 just opp our block of flats.
