Yup yup. Gonna hack that beam if my contractor say no problem. I think should be ok cuz our house is on the highest floor. Anyway, i'm not entitled to grant. I never stay near parents and my combined income with my wife also over the grant limit. Then, we also cannot use that newly wed grant because we buying RP flat straight from HDB. If resale, then can use. Yah lar. So my house price almost the same as urs.

My reno quote was $45k including electrical. But Roy has yet to give me the final quote after discount. By the way, my house is 124sqm. I was also scared abt loansharks n other problems the neighbours might face. Wanted to speak to the neighbours but forgot abt it. The HDB guy also say the house was sold to HDB for genuine reasons. I just have to hope for the best. Until now, I'm still wondering why the house flooring was hacked.

Yup, its a RP unit. The house got alarm system some more. Dun know why also. Maybe the last owner got robbed. But good thing is that all the floor are hacked except for kitchen n bathroom. So i save a bit from hacking. I PM u already how much govt charge me.

kittygal, Just want to know whether ur flooring smooth or not? Were there rough edges at the tiling joints for homogeneous tiles?

Can anyone informed me what are the procedures to hack this structure on top of the balcony door? Im not sure whether it is a beam. Heard that i may need to engage the services of a PE. Wonder how much that would cost? Big problem man. I want to level up the balcony so that it can form part of the living room. N then i want to put ceiling fan there. But it's hard with this beam there.

Thanx for the feedback. Actually, the study won be covered by walls. It's an open concept. This will make the living room look big. Hee hee Ask u something. Did u hack the beam at the balcony where u can place a sliding balcony door? Im planning to make the balcony as part of the living room and place my sofa and TV there. If we cant hack that beam, then my celing plan will be haywire.
