  1. Power to the Max!!!! Hacking has begun!!!! Check out my blogspot for pics. Still waiting for HDB approval b4 we can hack the walls n most importantly, the balcony beam!!!
  2. common items??? This can include a lot of items. Why dun u try getting a quote from a normal contractor under the block just to have a gauge of ur budget. Anyway, the famous contractor recommended hee is Ho Bee. U can try looking for his contact under Ho Bee thread.
  3. I think if u lazy to iron most of ur stuff such as jeans, pants, tshirts, just topup $100 and get the one that has creaseguard/iron aid. But for those office tops, u sure must iron even with these creaseguard/iron aid functions. If not, it will still look a bit crumpled.
  4. Hi, Think u should wait for the quotation from a few more IDs to have a feel of the market rate. Some of the popular IDs in the forum are good according to forumers but that comes with a price. In the meantime, be patient ya
  5. Yup, yup. Started already. Doing hacking now.
  6. U went shopping with Roy or by urself?
  7. If u like the 1st idea right, place the PC at the corner of the corridor window. Then, lock that window permanently so that people cannot disturb from outside.
  8. For Roy, if im not wrong, he wont give u refund if u choose a cheaper tile. But maybe u can ask him to give u discount or FOC stuff on other areas. Out of all the IDs i visit, only Plush say he will give refund for cheaper tiles
  9. Haha. I never see la. So small the word North
  10. Dun kanchiong. So far i never push Roy n he has been prompt in his timing. I've been impressed with him so far. N the good thing is that he always answer his phone or return calls.
  11. Welcome to the Inzen club. Where is ur flat location? Jurong?
  12. I got some ideas 1. U build a ledge that face the window. When u do work, u just face window lor. Hee hee. Then u build a full height display cabinet cum bookshelf at either aircon wall or wall facing doorway. 2. If u want open concept, u build full height display cabinet cum bookshelf at aircon wall n remove the door. Then u build ledge at wall facing doorway. I not sure abt FS but if u remove door n ur back face the doorway, issit ok? Dun know whether the presence of door affects the FS. 3. Last idea would be to change ur study room door to normal bedroom size door or maybe make the door opening smaller. Then ur back wont directly face the door. Hope it helps.
  13. Of course la cat cute U getting married soon u know. Dun misbehave
  14. Sui la. Ur carpentry almost done. Soon, u can move house!!!! Roy say this new grp of carpenters are good. Hopefully, they'll do a good job for my place cuz i doing lots of carpentry.
  15. Ups la. Definitely gonna get that Sony TV. Then can play PS3!!! Woo hoo!!! Washer n dryer will be stacked. N yah, im getting the same brand for both. Abt hob n hood, my wife n me are not sure on which brand is good. Dun mind paying a bit more for quality. I also getting glass hob. I'll wait n see wat Roy recommend u. If his lobang good, i chio him go shopping.
  16. Ur trunking really like MRT line For me, i only doing aircon in MBR. So the trunking wont be so bad. I didnt know u have recess area. My house dun have. But if got, i sure use for storage. Keep clothes or books. False ceiling is like that one. They use all these metals to form the structure. After that, they will construct the false ceiling. Abt curtain, if u using those pole system, then dun need so much space. In fact, u may not need any gap. Just fix one pole across the wall n put curtain. That's my house idea.
  17. Im fine, thank you. My reno will start on 26 May. Cannot wait!!! Hack here, hack there. Paste tile here, paste tile there Hi skweerel, nice place u have there. U got so many books ah!!! Im also doing a book shelf but it will have doors on it. I scared my books get dusty. Can share with me where u buy ur sofa set n dining table? They look nice. The FOC stuff for installation are more or less std. Abt freebies, i dun think u should look into that so much. Some IDs give this n that but in actual fact, all these items have been included in the quotation. I went expo n they throw in so many freebies but total price still $5-10K more than Roy.
  18. If it's a small company, then the quotation will be cheaper cuz of less overhead costs. No showroom, lower rent, less manpower n etc. Think u see their worksmanship 1st if u r interested. By the way, this flat seems familiar. U got it via Feb Bi monthly Sales issit?
  19. Frostyflake is so cute!!! Ur country style tiling seems nice. If can recycle, i think u can make money. Haha
  20. Nice place u got there. So, issit a high floor? All the best for ur reno
  21. I think can get good hood n hob for $700. Courts offer for $651 for Turbo. Outside shop sure cheaper. Anyway, If u go for Rinnai, sure more than enough. If Teka, maybe must top up.
  22. I plan to put breakfast table near the entrance of the kitchen but realise that it ill make the kitchen look small. So we decided to scrap that idea n prob buy a small table n place it near the toilet.
  23. I think $45K is reasonable if u include electrical works. Yes, im doing quite a lot of carpentry 1. Do platform for study with 9ft/10ft full height bookshelf and 7ft work area 2. 19.5ft WIW 3. 32ft kitchen cabinet (include top n bottom cabinet) 4. 2 x 7ft Feature wall. One for living room and another one for store wall 5. 3ft full height shoe cabinet
  24. No la, we dun intend to buy from Courts. Go there to see wat we like cuz Courts got a lot of variety of electrical products. Anyway, wat do u all think abt these brands? R they good? 1. TV: Sony 40inch Bravia S series 2. Washer n Dryer: Brandt 3. Fridge: Fisher n Paykel 4. Hob, Hood, Built in Oven: Turbo Wife n me are interested in these products. After including all the discounts Courts offer, we'll spend abt $6K. I think those small electrical shops sure can give me better price. Maybe $5K.
