Just met Roy today. Me n wife have decided to go ahead with concrete vanity after wat we saw at our cousin's place over the weekend. We saw how water destroyed their vanity. The wood at the hinge was spoiled due to water and as a result, u cant even close the door properly. If we do concrete vanity, if the wood spoil, we only need to change the door n not the whole cabinet. At least, we save some money.

we'll see. I'll talk to Roy n maybe we can come out with a concrete support that looks like wood.

I change my mind. Think i not using concrete suppport. Roy say wooden vanity will look nicer in my toilet. So no need to pay u $500.

Glad u've made up ur mind abt the sink I also thinking abt Hafale n Rinnai. It seems not many peple using Turbo. Make sure food dun get stuck easily under the burner. If not, super sian to clean. Everytime after cooking, u must clean the base.

I think u must see the base of the tap. Round base for round sink n square base for rectangular tank. Hee hee. That means must change 1 tap liao. I like ur cannon tap. How much u bought it?

Sometimes need PE cuz the building structure u wanna hack or renovate is an impt structure. It may result in collapse of ur house if u never renovate properly. PE normally costs ard $500. Once PE approve, u send the details to HDB for approval. Will delay by 1 week or more depends on how fast the ID work. Hee hee

Fire rated door sure expensive one. Bo pian. Surely $1K plus. It's a stupid requirement. If im not wrong, the door must be able to withstand fire for 30s. By then, i would have left the building if i were on the 6th floor. Just like the bombshelter design in new buildings. Another crap idea. 5rm resale quotation at $55K!!!! That's a lot man. I'm in the midst of doing my reno. Gonna do a lot of carpentry but im only spending ard $45K. The highest quote i got from other firms was $60K. I think u should try sourcing other firms to get a better feel of the market price. My recommendations, based on my experience, would be Fuse Concept, Inzen, Plush.

I talk to Roy n he say his contractor is handling these HDB approval. U try contacting the HDB officer in charge of ur area. If im not wrong, when u go n sign the documents at Toa Payoh, HDB got give some impt numbers u can refer to. All u need to do is tell them ur Blk n unit no n ask them what is holding the approval back. I called the fella in charge of my area n it seems i need a PE. Sianzzz

I went to Courts sometime back n the lady gave me a couple of good advice. She said 1. Make sure the hob has a good design such that the food or soup that spills out can be easily cleaned. If they get stuck, that's when ur hob gets to rust faster. 2. Get those hob that are easily dismantled. Dun us those with screws at the burner. It will be troublesome to clean and the screw thread may get damaged after sometime. 3. If got more money, get those hob with solid supports for ur wok n etc. Make sure the supports are durable n have good worksmanship. (I think she refering to cast iron quality.) 4. Glass hob is better to use. Cuz it's easier for cleaning
