but this type of sink does not blend with my white solid surface top. I am getting an undermount stainless steel that is not shiny & it could cost as much as the composite sink as well.

Hey folks, Going to source for lights and reno sstarting soon, don't want to believe whatever ID say, so better do some research. I am very confused by the various types of lightings available and whicb brands are good and reliable. Also I don't want such a thick false ceiling and was told by ID energy saving lights need at least 4.5" and that i cant use spot light or florescent lights Can someone direct me to a good webstite that explains the difference between spot light, Cf light, downlight florescent light , halogen light etc etc? Else some kind soul can briefly describe to me, with photos will be good. Thanks a million.

i saw one pole missing & still wondering how did the car mount the kerb to dismount the pole? The opening is misleading, I think cards at st64 can turn right into the exit going into our estate. -
Hey haroldism, did u do false ceiling all the way to the living room windows? I can't really see it. but seems that the top of the windows are not covered by 4"-6" of false ceiling of L box. Is ur curtain hidden under the curtain pelment?

http://singapore-aircon.blogspot.com/ I realised so many of you are having WIW, are u all doing WIW without doors, with just the structure bone? I am also going to do WIW, but I am a messy person, so I don't think I can stand the sight of messy wardrobe and rather hide it behind doors. So my WIW comes with 2 sliding doors and 1 casement. HAHA Nah. no need. i got system 4.. after consulting the aircon pple and reading the blog. 3 bedrooms + 1 in living/dining area. where the indoor unit in the living/dining will have a bigger BTU to support the size of that area . But overall ur outdoor unit compressor must be strong enuff (say 34000K or above) to support 3 x 9000BTU + 1 x 22000BTU. But if u switch on all 4 rooms at the same time, the aircon in some rooms may not be as cold. Anyway we are unlikely to switch on all 4 at the same time. -
why must get simplehuman bin? what's so special or good?? Is quite ex right. I think I saw at IMM homefix store.

hmm is it the higher the better chance of not needing the permit since the wall structure of the lower floor will need to support the rest of the top floors? win liao i will be staying at low floor! Hey, no one hack and retile kitchen? -
hi folks, any feedback on the pros and cons of using a solid surface sink that integrates with my solid surface top or a stainless steel sink? Will solid surface sink be easily spoilt? scratched?stained? For e.g. if there is a hot pot of water poured into the sink or the pot is hot and i just placed in the sink?

rdnest, is ur false ceiling 4" or 6" in ht? Is ur house ready with curtain up? Can I go see see? Anyone else house got false ceiling with curtain pelmet done at the living room area? How the the curtain thread/rod looks like without hiding them in the curtain pelmet false ceiling? I went to check the living rooms in a few blocks at our area and saw like 1 (also nto very sure) and most do not have the false ceiling coming down that go over the windows. So anyone hack the kitchen floor tiles? I was told the PE endorsement cost abt $600 to be borne by the owner. I also need to hack wall between MBR and bedroom 2. May need PE endorsement & cost to be borne by owner. They also said out of entire block of residents maybe PE will only approve 1 or 2 requst....... Is it true? This is what i hear one.. -

With the false ceiling and curtain pelmet around the window.. the windows will look shorter right? Also, did anyone of you hack and lay new tiles in the kitchen?Need to apply for permit from professional engineering? -

Anyone did false ceiling at the living area that stretches to where our living room windows are?The windows frame actually starts from the original ceiling and ends 3/4 before it reaches the floor? Because false ceiling makes the ceiling shorter & will cover a bit of the top window. and even having a curtain pelmet near the windows to hide the railings of the curtains. -

u can complain to town council, it should work. but then if this neighbour is your same floor neighbour, they will just shift these clothes to the narrow corridor which will block u. If all else fail, persuade them to get a dryer! Do they know it existed? my neighbour directly facing me burn incense in the bin and put it at the staircase burning...i duno if i should complain coz it better than burning right in front of my door. what if there is fire at the stairway landing? Ha interesting....if i complain, they surely know is me. I saw a round basket containing some vegetables, apparently the neighbour must be trying to dry them & attempt to let them get some sun from level 1. I nearly stepped on it. The list goes on and on living in HDB estate. Every other day u get suprises & sometimes i am awed by how creative these neighbours can be? It's also tiring to write email/call town council to complain! I guess one day I will just be jaded & give up. It's almost impossible to change the behaviour of your neighbours especially when they are above 30 yrs old whereby the brain will be almost less receptive to changes. -
I think is easier especially if u are right hander. Miele washer also opens to the right and their dryer opens to the left. It's meant for ease of use when u unload from the washer and immediately dump to the left side of the dryer where the door opens to the left. It's meant for this placement arrangement as usually household in european countries usually have both machines. I intend to buy Miele Washer and dryer where washer to the right, dryer to the left.
-
Hmm i dun understand. THe round drum door circumference is less than the width of your washer. so u should be able to open more than 90 degrees. but slightly moer only. I intend to put the washer which also opens to the right , beside the right side of the wall

I did not impose my ideas on them as I want to first hear what they can propose. So after this propose session I feel that they are not really ID. Anyway their name cards say project manager. But I would say they have done many HDB projects and know the HDB rules very well and can foresee a lot of practical and real problems as opposed to interior designer who do a lot of condo, bungalow and showflats and may not know abt HDB flat renovation. The PM managed to highlight a few problems that the other designers did not hightlight. If their quote is of a good price, we might likely hire them, just worried about colour scheme proposal and also the aircon trucking installation as they might be that good in that area. Friend visited a flat done by them, told me the aircon trunking very ugly and weird. So best is we have to be personally there during the installation. -

I just met one of them from ideal house and discussed our requirement. IMHO, they are not really ID, more like project coordinator and provides 3D images for u. Maybe they sub out or have back end team to work on the design. Coz the guy actually asked me where i want to put my things instead of suggesting where I should put my things based on my house layout and requirement & they are very accomodating to my requirement like contractor. Since we already stole ideas from different IDs we already know what we want. so we might be using them if they can give us a good price. I think don't sign reno package, just ala carte to reduce hidden cost. In the end take out $ less, put in more then bo hua... -

I no need L shaped ones. one straight line across is fine already coz i was advised by ID that the more u built, the more rubbish u will store. HAHAHA..
