Coz that junction is not meant to make a U turn due to the narrow road. so u are in fact making an illegal U turn. We are supposed to turn right towards the temple then U turn at that junction then go straight then turn left to our estate. Anyway we tried to do a U turn there, ended up need to reverse a bit before proceeding. Is dangerous. I think better make a proper U turn at the other side for now or go by the petrol station way before LTA reply me on the feasibily on opening up the divider at st 64. -
Anyone else bought the Miele washer and dryer on promo? I was told by some ppl that if I were to spend $4K on that, I might as well bring my clothes to the laudromat to wash and iron every week. Wonder if I will ever use the washer/dryer for 20 yrs and not want to upgrade. How many years to break even?

Hmm. as long as the bbq pits are not just under my block as I'm staying very low floor & facing the open space near the sheltered pavilion where many pple like to loiter around for no reasons and even sleep on the seats like they have no homes. imagine the pits might likely be erected just beside the sheltered pavilion!! Not to mention the bbq smell & oily flying up & the noise...My sis stay at 18th floor in a condo and the BBQ smell can fly up to her unit as the pits are just below her block. If is in the middle of the open area, say in front of the amphitheatre, then i think is ok though I am quite against the idea coz prefer peaceful environment. There is a BBQ area at the JW central at the neighbourhood park area. my friend living around there told me. -
My kitchen is also very small! Actually my ID very against the idea.. say is not feasible, table top extension not stable. etc etc...I was so angry agueing with him, & I am going to show him the pictures that why others can do it! BTW. is it very heavy to pull out the extension since there is no castors? Will dragging out the extension cause scratches on your floor tile? Will there be a lot of noise when u pull out like dragging out chairs..
-
Hi, Any feedback on the usage of the extended kitchen table top? I see that from the pictures you loaded, there will be a slight protrusion of the extension even when fully closed. Is that right? Also how far is your extension of the table top. Max is about 60cm ?

Hey folks, Is it necessary or better to be safe to buy an extended warranty for fridge since it will be working 24 hrs every day? Coz this extended 5 yr warranty only applies in places like Best Denki and Harvy Norman, & they cost price of the fridge is usually higher than neighbourhood small electrical shop. I should be getting the inverter Panasonic NR-B403V-S6 fridge which retails at $1099 at HN & Best Denki & can top up a bit for extended warranty. Prob Neighbourhood store can get $950 but no extended warranty.

Wow, we just have my 3 bedrooms floors hacked last week. Luckily, I was not there... maybe my neighbours also cursing... Seems like is quite difficult to stay in harmony in HDB estates with a lot of enc bloc folks as neighbours. As the saying, u can't (really) choose your neighbours. NiVleK, I would suggest you take photos of the clutter at the corridor, and show the officer in charge in person at WCTC. U will need to be more aggressive. -

wah indeed very sianz.... the corridor so narrow some more!! Maybe u can advise them to get a dryer. ask them no need to hang outside in future. There's promo now from citygas . The corridor gets a lot of sun meh? Why cannot hang outside the kitchen where is the designated area? I think u can complain to town council.I would do that too. But u may wan tto talk to ur neighbour first. but I doubt they will listen to u. -

I think en bloc folks got a lot of barang from their own place where they might have a wider and bigger common area/corridor, so they could happily place t hem there along with similar en bloc folks who love to block the entire common area. Now the new place has a smaller area and they no long have the same type of neighbours loving to put many barangs along the common area. And old pple tend to love to keep things. So they move their beloved barangs from old to new place and make them look like old place so they can reminise abt their old home. I think they got to make the place look similar then can stay in lor. If they kanna youngsters neighbours sure kanna complain.. but that makes future living next to each other hard.. is really tough to manage ur neighbour. Hahah to think we hope not to say beside en bloc folks, they might have think likewise abt us! -

Actually living in HDB is like that lor... my enbloc neighbour also placed shoe racks, plants and a stool in front of my door. They very smart, first day see us open door, friendly friendly say. we won't mind right? We were like Errr...Say they counted the no. of tiles separating our doors which are facing each other.. say 6 tiles each ok? But I realise their stool already reach over my area liao!!! Once the lift open I can see their incense burner can, broom etc all over. Not really a neat sight.. Nmind lah, take it as a 'motivation' haha or push factor for u to get out of HDB ASAP! Save money next time 5 yrs later get a condo. -
I have not used 3 or more doors fridge where the freezer is at the bottom and vegetable crisper in the middle with drawer-like cabinets. Can anyone comment on the pros and cons of having a separate vegetable crisper in a vegetable compartment vs sharing the vegetabe crisper in the chiller? Can anyone comment on the auto ice-making feature in a fridge. Is there a maintenance issue to clean the water pipe, internal ice-cube tray and other components used for auto ice-maker? What I know is having an auto ice-maker in a fridge will consume more electricity. I am actually considering these 2 models. Panasonic NR-B403V-S6 : 2-doors with the freezer below but using ice-twister. Am afraid difficult to refill the ice tray and put into the bottom freezer without spilling all over. The vegetable cripser is inside the chiller , so there is no separate compartment/drawer. Hitachi R-S37SVS : 3 doors with separate middle vegetable crisper compartment and bottom freezer where there is auto ice-making feature. I like this slim model, but I find that the depth of 615mm seems small, so I wonder if the small depth will pose any future problem of placing items with a bigger depth. I can't of think of anything except probably a huge cake? Feedback appreciated. Thanks.

How much were u quoted for EWF1495? What is the specs? I am shortlisting EWF1090 8KG;1000RPM was quoted as $1299 at Harvey Norman, Prob can get it cheaper elsewhere, but I have yet to done market research on the pricing. Next option is EWF1084 7KG;1000rpm at $999.

I think we can try to: Close all the windows Putting soundproof curtains over the windows Switch on aircon Blast ur Home Theatre System Hmm if u saying vibration is felt, are u staying on low or high floors. Makes me wonder if the groundwork is stable, & if they are part of the shoddy job done by cheap HDB contractors. If earthquake we will be like the sze chuan pple.. -

NiVleK, which floor are u staying? Is ur unit facing the main road. ie. opposite the chinese temple? I thought the noisiest thing in our area would be the fighter planes? NDP is coming. So WATCH OUT! -
u still have ur main door key. hahaah...
