I would like to share my unpleasant experience with a tile supplier. This Tile supplier is one of the well known tile suppliers in Singapore - located at Toh Guan Road East. Their tiles showroom is very impressive but .. but.. but.. delivery service is terrible!!!
A month ago, I went to the showroom to order some tiles. I was told that I had to pay full payment. And I could call them back anytime to decide the exact date of delivery. So last week I called the tile supplier to confirm the delivery date for my tiles, I was shocked when the staff told me that the delivery man will only deliver my tiles at my block downstairs !!! They will deliver it in a pallet of 15 boxes of tiles. I said "Why I was not told that the tiles would be delivered at my block downstairs when I was doing the full payment?!" The staff said time would be wasted if deliver to my door step. So ok... noted with 'no thanks' . Expecting me a woman to carry 15 boxes of tiles from downstairs to my unit
Then I was told by a friend that usually tiles suppliers would just put tiles at block downstairs & my contractor was supposed to bring the tiles up to my unit. But I do not have a specific contractor because my block (actually 11 blocks) was under HIP (Home Improvement Project). So ok.. nevermind.. I arranged a friend with trolley to stand by to transfer the tiles from the pallet to our trolley. Guess what.. when I was having breakfast (not near to my block), the tile supplier delivery man called me at 9 am (I was told delivery would arrive at 10 am onwards). Delivery man said he had placed the pallet of 15 boxes of tiles at block downstairs. But note ... not my block downstairs.. he put the pallet of tiles at my next block downstairs !!! I asked, "Why not put at my block downstairs?" Delivery man replied, "Because your (my) block has no carpark."!!!!! And the delivery man left.
When my friend and I rushed to my next block downstairs, it was raining. The pallet of tiles was not placed at the corridor. It was placed at the open field under a tree. Though the boxes were covered with pallet stretch wrap, but because we had to carry one box at a time from the pallet to our trolley (very heavy), we needed to remove the pallet stretch wrap & eventually the boxes were wet under the rain. Worse.. because we did not have a pallet jack, so we had to make 3 trips from next block to my block (under the rain), using our trolley.
It will be my last time to order tiles from this tile supplier, even if they have the most choices of tiles in Singapore.
Disappointed.
