  1. Didnt ask him exactly when, but should be a few days ago. He suspected the theft happened late at night as he left his unit 8 plus pm and discovered his stuff missing the next day p.m. Like what Jacky777 said, don't shift your valuables in early and lock as many places as u can. Hopefully when more household shifted in, such things won't happen again. Hi Mapleleaf, did that happened a few days ago too? We are from the same block, perhaps the thieves were making their rounds there? Heard my neighbour's stuffs are quite heavy, so guessed there are 2 or more thieves carrying the goods away. Think our unit layout is the same, can pm me yr floor and i pop by to visit one day? Thanks
  2. For those that have finished renovation but yet shifted in, pls be careful. My neighbour's flat was broken into, the thief cut off the bicycle chain lock at the gate, and stolen their appliances which they newly bought. He advised me to lock both the gate and door as well instead just using the bicycle chain when reno is completed. According to the NPP, this is not the only case of break-in in 79. Hmm.. staying beside the NPP may not be that safe too... talk about security, heard some of you getting castle lock? Is it more secured and how much?

  19. congrats, Dracula. same block neighbour, maybe we'll meet in the lift one day remember to submit your defects list (at 79C) and apply for cement screeding (if doing parquet or laminates) (at branch office) cos it will take a while. I've been waiting for past 2 wks liao..
  20. I'd like to join in, but only have window views to show, cos am still waiting for cement screeding to be done and reno not started yet
  21. Gd idea, i think my hubby will like it, he's a liverpool fan too! Sorry but i'm also not sure how to go abt it, get someone to paint it?? I'm thinking of having a nice curtain to cover the bomb shelter door instead of having a feature door. Now waiting for defects list to be rectified and cement screeding to be done, sigh.. the officer said he will help expedite but still it will take 2-3 wks.
  22. Not sure if we referring to the same one, i like the fried carrot cake at the hawker centre there (lor 1A blk 12 something, 2nd storey). The name is Qing Shan (direct translation green mountain), they fried till crispy on the outside. Another famous stall there is the Teochew pau, i like their fatty meat pau (not really fatty thou). If u like bak kwa, u can frequent a corner shop in the same hawker centre, can't remember the name thou, but there's only one there. They will set up stall downstairs during CNY and have to book in advance during that period.
  23. another neighbour from 79E here.. nice pic layout u've got, which program u using? look fwd to yr pics. my reno not yet started, will post pic when ready..
  24. Hi, I read a fengshui book by a taiwanese geomancer that said u can put a curtain (the length of it has to cover the toilet bowl) if there's no other choice. My sis is doing that. Hope this helps
  25. Dracula - nice layout drawing, really thought that it's from ID. Was surfing net earlier on to check on fengshui advice for installing ceiling fans in bedrooms and chance upon this website on 'fengshui your bedroom' - http://sleepdisorders.about.com/od/alterna.../a/fengshui.htm It mentioned "Don't sleep directly beneath a ceiling fan or have anything hanging looming over the bed, and keep clutter from beneath the bed. A solid headboard offers a feeling of security. Neither is it good to sleep directly beneath a window. If this can't be avoided, make sure to cover the window with an opaque curtain." I'm also staying at 79E too
