hee.. long time never login liao anyway, mr tan, r u referring to the function room near the carpark, blk 78B, near the playground? Previously it was available for rent but think RC took over late last year and started toddlers playgroups and tuition classes there, hence don't think they allow residents to rent it liao.

thanks Jacky, the tel tat i listed is correct. trying to book the function room for kids birthday party lah. anyway, finally got in touch with the RC volunteer. Their office is at Blk 179 void deck (opp Blk 79E, next to TPY library). The volunteer told me she wld be manning there twice a wk, Thurs n Sun (maybe tats why i cant reach anyone on the other days?). They may be converting the a/c function room to RC centre end of this month and thereafter will not be allowed for booking anymore. ya, i still hv quite a bit of things to dispose, hvn't finished packing yet thou moved in few mths liao btw the next recycling day at 79A Pavilion is 3 May 9-12pm.

Thanks meepok and rest of guys for all these news feeds. Thou not really active in this forum but i've been regularly browsing this thread and updated myself with the happenings at 79. Drove pass the suicidal site that fateful evening and saw police hoarding then, my hubby and i were exclaiming "not again"! Hopefully the authorities out there can step up more patrolling and take into consideration our genuine feedback and make this Central Horizon and safe haven for us all. Sidetrack a bit. I've 12 sachets of Pediasure Chocolate to giveaway. Expiry 17 Jan 09. Daddies and mummies out there, if u'll like to have them, pls PM me, can arrange to pass to u at 79. cheers.

I had similar experience in blk E, but not during 7th mth Can't remember which high level I was at. While I was waiting for the right lift to take, the other side lift for high level access only (emergency only) opened. I was already in the lift (door about to close) and saw a grandma and a little gal in the lift. Didnt realised anything till my lift's about to close, then suddenly rem that lift was not supposed to have landing unless emergency! The grandma and little gal looked normal to me.

I'll support for the security issue too. Reg the door near the unit (which is a blind spot or rather dangerous spot), another suggestion that I've got is to convert to a one-way lock door - can open to the staircase for fire escape but can't access fr staircase to unit (avoid ambush since it's so near to the unit).

Was very shocked when I heard about the murder case when driving to work this a.m. Safety and security is definitely an issue in 79 now. So many break-in case and now a murder case (dunno whether it's a break-in though). For those that are going to finish renovation works, especially when u have already some valuable items to yr unit, pls be careful. I understand that there have still been several break-in case and these people always strike after the units were cleaned up after reno and some items already there such as fridge/oven etc. Seems like there are people monitoring the reno process! My contractor told me that some workers (who look like cleaners) will pop by to look at the unit and asked if they wanted to throw away some rubbish at the unit. Hence immediately after my contractor cleaned up the place, he asked me to lock up the gate and main door, instead of just lock up the chain lock. Luckily I did that and the next day I noticed that someone had meddled with my chain lock! Saw that someone mentioned about Meet-The-MP session. Do you think it's useful for us to gather and feedback our concern to our dear MP before other unfortunate things happen there again?

Hmmm... that will mean it will take a long while for them to decide whether to convert to free parking. why can't they do the reverse way - have it as free parking first then if season parking demand greater than supply, then convert to no free parking or season parking only??

congrats to u and yr wife 1. suggest u ask friends or relatives for recommendation of gynae. Or u can surf Singaporemotherhood.com website to check on recommendations by the forummer. 2. no need to rush to buy maternity clothes so soon lah. if yr wife is slim cut kind, usually tummy will not protrude so fast, and she can wear normal kind of clothes, just that dun wear too tight fitting kind. Some frens only wear maternity clothes end of 2nd trimester, ie over 25 weeks thereabt. 3. baby pdts - usually i will think the better time is 2nd trimester, betw 12 wks to 28 wks, where yr wife will be more energetic and can prob shop ard. Btw the foetus will be more stable after 12 wks, so most pple will only 'announce' this gd news then. up to individual Congrats to u again! -
hi jac, ya these are also the questions my hubby and i also asked ourselves saw in this forum before that some 79-ers wrote to HDB/Town council request for free parking on sunday, any replies from the authority?

Ya, think 50" is really too big for our little home.. just now was at Hougang Mall and there was this Harvey Norman roadshow at the open area outside the mall (near kfc). Saw quite a lot of LCDs at discounted price, those who are interested may want to check it out. Unfortunately not many selection for plasma TV which I'm looking for.
