hey meowie, thanks a lot. we are in luck. smoky came back home last night... through the front door. she was mewing outside at close to midnight. i just got back home from work. maybe she tried mewing outside in the afternoon too but we weren't home. whatever it is, we were so happy that she got back in one piece. now, we keep her in and keep the windows closed. only the top part is open. once our blinds are fixed, we can keep the windows open like before.

hi guys, my wife and i just moved into our apartment at 79b for a week+ when our cat went missing. she must've climbed out through the window, sneaked around and got lost. we live on the 2nd storey.

i've been all over yishun in my pre-teen and teenage years. my family was once staying in blk 393 for a while. very inconvenient place to get around. now my mom is in blk 209 and i go visit her often. i consider myself a yishun kid. i know every nook and cranny like the back of my hands.

thanks for the heads up, guys! really appreciate it. anyway i'm on my way to reservist. see you in 15 days!

i'm considering those guys at blk 177 too. so far i have only spoken to one guy **** art. i like his style. very honest. i used to have a housemate who's a sales designer in one of the ID firms and i must say that after knowing him, i look at every sales designer with contempt. always out to "earn" from innocent people. but this guy was the opposite of my former housemate so my first impression of him is good. however, i'll still check out other ID firms in my reno process.

i'm keen but the problem is i'll be away on reservist for two weeks starting tomorrow!

i voted but just to share, i'm already married so i had to change the first question a little bit in my mind. my answer was yes, i would have married someone outside my race if that was my fate but in the end i married someone from the same race as i. no biggie. whichever way it is, it's not an issue for me and my family.

this is a good lead. thank you alister. gulp. i was actually planning on getting the ikea pole system myself. let's see if i can work something out.

hey liana, thanks for graciously allowing us to pop by yesterday. based on our visit to your place, i believe it is possible to place a treadmill in our living room, but that's all. there won't be any space for any other equipment. i'll try to squeeze in some free weights though, kee kee kee, but see how.

i'm only saying don't be surprised, that's all. in the foodcourt/kopitiam world, gas suppliers would also offer goodies to foodcourt/kopitiam operators like free tables and chairs, etc. and the guy who broker the deal also gets something. then again, don't take my word for it. i could be wrong. this i share based on what i've come across in the past. may not be the same now. ps: i haven't even got the keys to my flat
-
don't be surprised if he's earning from citygas too. i've learnt quite a bit in my days running foodcourts.

thanks liana, i'll work it out with mrs ronin and let you know how it goes. lol! sure, if you'd let us shoot pool at yours! actually i suck at pool but my siblings and siblings in law are crazy about it. i'm also worried if putting a treadmill and multistation gym would drastically reduce the size of our living room. hoping to have a clearer picture when we pop by liana's tomorrow (hopefully). if it does, then too bad for me, i'm just gonna have to sign up with a nearby gym.

ok, we can be there at 9am, 9.30am or anytime after 2pm. does any of these work for you? thanks again!
-
you're a star! for a while i thought you're my sis there! same name! um, thing is, we'd be visiting my father in law at the time you stated. are you available at an earlier or later time that day or perhaps on another day?
-
aiyah... i'm not sure if this is ok, but mrs ronin and i will go ahead and ask anyway. if you live in 79b and already have your keys, would it be ok for us to pop by for a visit? we just wanna have a look-see at the layout if you don't mind. ps: doesn't matter if the unit is still under renovation. thank you!
-
hi again, mrs ronin and i just want to seek clarification on this - do the units in 79b have a service balcony where you can place your washing machine and other laundry stuff? i thought i saw it in the floorplan but mrs ronin is not convinced.
-
thank you thank you thank you thank you! i went here on their site and found that it's well-updated, complete with prices and specifications that i need for my "window-shopping". yes the prices ARE reasonable.
-
i'm sure we will! cheers!

hmm, i'll check it out soon. would be nice if anyone also has recommendations for gym equipment for home, brand new or 2nd hand also can. we're looking for firstly a treadmill and secondly a multi-station machine.

hi alex, thanks for sharing. actually this was also one concern for me. i work from home and speak on the phone a lot. in the daytime, i am praying the noise won't be too much for me to bear. i already expect there to be renovation work galore going on everywhere but that should clear up soon enough. at night, if this goes on, it'd affect me too and probably my wife as well. i know for a fact that once i wake up at night it's usually difficult for me to go back to sleep. i'd end up getting up for work grumpy. hope LTA listens to your feedback. otherwise, we'd have to put more signatures to appeal for them to do something about it.

hi everyone, mrs ronin and i were lucky. we're newly-married and by the time we applied a few mths ago (only!), there were only a handful of units available at the blk 79 series. but thank God out of those few we managed to get our first choice flat at blk 79b. very wonderful. we were so so so so so so grateful to everything in the universe when the hdb officer said WE GOT IT yesterday during our appointment at hdb hub. we'd be getting our keys in three mths or so but before that we're hoping to do some minor reno especially at the kitchen area (countertop, kitchen sink, etc). anybody got a good personal recommendation for a contractor? we're looking for someone reliable and honest for this. anyway, we took some pics yesterday prior to the appointment. check them out! guess where we found you guys? had it been available, we'd love to be on the 7th or 8th floor to be near the garden so charming! we're very familiar with tp and love the idea of being nearer to tp central as compared to where we previously were renting at blocks 103 and 57 we're now bunking in at one of my sister's place at serangoon north that's our house (lowest window in pic) and finally, this is our 90sqm floorplan and how we intend to divide the rooms in our home anyway, does anyone know if the toa payoh community center next to 79e has a gym? might need to utilize the gym there if there's any while waiting for our own little fitness station at home once we figure out where to put it considering the lack of space available. hope to hear from you guys. thanks in advance for the welcome!
