  1. Me from Blk 177 16th Floor.... my hb quite excited dat from mbr can see stadium... Youth Olympics... i m more worried if it gets noisy when theres soccer matches. We r jus happy wif the open view, can see the sky btw, if your ID suggest laminate door, pls check if they r solid core or jus hollow and put nice laminate/trimmings... they ain't cheap either.
  2. Hi pinkdewy Sorry unable to comment, cos have not come across this brand. The most important point is whats the material, cos thats what makes the difference. Jus for info, heres a thread about kitchen top http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10990 We cook lots at home, that why the emphasis on the counter top/sink/kitchen... Bluefly, you are too kind. What brand is the acrylic top you are using? Looking forward to more posts in your blog
  3. YEAH! another dog owner.... we have a 10 yrs old black/tan mini dachshund, WEINER. Great find/price for a wash basin, practical size when bb comes along. bdrm doors @ YS really , they are HOLLOW. We r spending $800 to change them to solidwood doors at the sacrifice of nicer toilet bowls and common toilet wash basin. Premium flats comes with shower screens too.
  4. Hi L3X & Nex My apologies for causing some confusion here. To clarify: 1. Citygas hving promo for $148 for the 8L Rinnai Gas heater, $100 to run gas pipe to the heater, which will be outside the common toilet, next to kitchen window. 2. U will hv to get your contractor to run hot water pipes from heater to toilets/kitchen sink/wash basins/washer. 3. U can use rain shower/bathtub with this heater. i jus check wif Citygas today and stock for the 8L is only available in 2 weeks time. Jus for info, the current available 5L model was retailing @$250 +/- when we were in the showroom a mth ago. Nex, I also got the rain shower from Hoe Kee for MBR bathroom. We jus get the $140 set w/o mixer, some sets costs as much as $500+. Which model did u get?
  5. Hi Bluefly We changed our mind about the blanco sink, mainly bcos it is still a separate piece from the counter top and seepage can still occurs. We decided to get the sinks cast in the same color/material as the solid counter top which will be a single seamless piece. Costs us a bomb, but we feels it a worthwhile investment, since we are paying almost $4k for the kitchen cabinet.
  6. Hi Thanks for sharing. Once again, Bluefly said it all.... jus been down that road. We ended with a reno co that didn't push us to take any package with useless freebies, didn't come up fancy 3Ds... instead he actually listen to what we want and gave/still giving constructive/honest suggestions. They do provide id services if we need, and told us up front that its chargeable. HONESTY
  7. Hi L3x According to wat i understand, gas heater is not tank storage, its like the instant heater, xcept a little bigger and the 8L capacity means dat it can heat up 8L of water flow. it wil take a while like instant heater to heat up, as for consumption...once u turn off the tap, its off. We r using it for both toilets and the kitchen sink. As for rain shower, we are getting the mixer separate from the rose wif a regular shower spray for a quick shower. The usual storage tank is an eyesore and also may hv leakage from the tank after a few years. Info from Citygas: http://www.citygas.com.sg/index.php?option...=58#product_div
  8. Hi Stry Hows reno coming along? Started yet? Things wif hdb resolved? Cheers
  9. Hi Nex Yes, CITIGAS is hving promo for the 5L model, and they r hving new 8L gas heater coming in mid May, these r the only 2 models approved for hdb flats. We r waiting for the 8L unit to come in. Its not exactly free... u still hv to pay for the installation and the piping that runs to the heater which is normally outside the common toilet. After much comparison, gas heater is stil more economical in the long run.... gas is stil cheaper than electricity. Only down side is dat if both toilet is using the hot water, supply will be affected, dat Y we r waiting for the bigger 8L unit to come in. Btw, the brand is RINNAI.
  10. Hi, we chose Fujioh hob & hood from Hoe Kee, the tampered glass has life time warranty.
  11. HI HI Always the last to spam in anyone's blog. WOW Felix ur dining area and MBR look SSSOOOO good. Looks like my place will be the least renovated..... Glad to know there r lots of pet lovers around.... Previous neigborhood, always got chased out of elevator when taking our girl out/back for walks. We had even been told that dogs r not allow in elevators . My hs used to tell them brainless are not allow too.
  12. Hi L3x Sorry give credits to the wrong person. Like i said..... its a brilliant way to resolve the problem. I wil be doing the same for the entrance area. We chose a textured tile to be laid a tile height lower.
  13. Hi L3X Our standard not high at all, my hs tot the previous condition was ok and even d different tones in the kitchen wall tiles was acceptable Me the fussier one, but still can accept the hdb standard, also got to watch our budget. Wow, your tiler is very smart/good.... to drop a tile height (dats how i see it as in pic) and resolve the problem.. From the pic can see u got a bit of sun.... i would prefer dat than to directly face someone's house.... Looking forward to your kitchen.....
  14. Hi L3x HDB contractor jus started tiling the kitchen las sat. My actual reno will only b able to commence from 12/05 dat week.... hopefully there won't b further problem after hdb rectifications.... I read somewhere dat 1 unit in our neigbourhood re hack the kitchen tiles after hdb rectifications!! I hv to move out by end May... my landlord has been very patient and accommodating, I don't want to push my luck.
  15. Hi L3x Thx for the info... erh.... I wil not buy any LG products, had bad experience... Bought their fridge & washer some years ago, washer broke down less than 3 years and fridge 6 mths after... both motor problems....But theres r some pple swear by their LCD TV.... could b dat their technology get better these years. And must say their blower looks nicer than most other brands. I will most probably go for Toshiba (made in Japan) or Fujitsu (office unit still working after 8 years ) My office is in industrial area and we r rite next to veri bz road (tons of dusts). Can't afford Daikin and don't quite trust Mit.... My office's Fujitsu outlasts Mit... Btw, where u put the blower in the living area? Thx
  16. Hi Lin Sorry... but wat is L6 dat u mentioned about in the study??? Thx...
  17. Hi Lin Ur furries are adorable, especially OLL, I like them dark and handsome... its a great idea to hv the washing kerb for them, is dat in the common toilet? Your dining chandelier is classy and lovely and your platform long lights is unique, very cosy. Hv the tiling problem resolved? About the air con... after much discussion, we will most likely hv a 18/22k in the living area facing the dining.... cos we r hving a fan in the tv area. U using Hong Tar? Yes, Stry, Mr James Huan is very easy to talk to and he actually returned calls after office hours.
  18. Hi Nex, the best patient customer service guy name DON in Citygas. But they r open only during workg hrs. They hv a full range there and u can ask all the ?? u want. My hs is like u and they r more than happy to answer ur ??. U don't hv to get from them (no discounts, unless on promo) cos places like H*e Ke* and P*h Jo* hv better prices/discounts. We r getting the 8L gas heater from them, its only available in mid May but its only $150+/-. Hope these helps. Can someone pls help w my air con question Thank u, thank u...
  19. Hi all, jus found this thread.... nid some advise and since all here hv similar layout please how r u guys doing the a/c in the living/dining area? did u hv 1 24k btu for both area or 2x12k (1 for living & 1 for dining)? those who get 1 24k, where do u place it? Also, pls give ur recommendations on the different brands/contractors..... Felix, is dat ur furry bb? its very cute....we hv a black/tan dachshund
  20. HI HI more pics please.... Hi keltong, u mean hdb workmanship so bad?? They r hacking tis wk in my pl.....
  21. PC at home died few weeks ago. we r going to fix it, wil jus get new one when got xtra $. In the meantime, paying mthly bband charges for nothing. U wil notice all my posts r during working hrs...so not convenient to blog at work...
  22. Hi Bluefly Great minds think alike. I hv exactly the same idea..... we hv been renting for years, thus stayed in at least 5 different places in the past 10 years... we hv a pretty gd idea about wat not to do to the house. my no 1 problem is always those ugly and definately harmful to health black moldy silicone around sink, bathroom areas.... although theres non-mold silicone available, but with constant contact with water, it thens to deteriorate... Furthermore, now got little one... can't be too careful. My pc at home died (u wil notice that all my replies r during working hours)... , so not convenient to start a blog.... Stil deciding whether to fix or jus get new one.... burn more $$
  23. Hi Stry Our HSS door is difficult to close, but we r not bothered with dat. I m a little surprised dat they wont change the hollow tiles Try calling hdb if officer don't barge and complain about him... We did take quite a while to choose the tiles and we r only choosing the floor tiles...Our 1st choice is out of stock til end of year We chose a textured tile for our foyer area too, we chose a coppery brown tone.... I can't wait to see more of your pics, your place wil be uniquely done.... **to be young and carefree**..... enjoy b4 the kids comes along..
  24. Hi Strychnine Hows the faults report to hdb coming along? We jus went down to the contractor's office @JW st93 to choose the tile and bi-fold doors. u can choose to change the wash basin and toilet bowls too... dat is if u r not getting ur preferred models.
