  2. Hi all Finally..... hdb done with the tilings, jus waiting to fix toilet doors and sanitary works. YEAH...... can start wif the real reno liao . Met my neighbor facing us... they r done and moving in tis weekend. Very nice couple and both hb hv the same name! talk about coincidence Hey L3x, tis the same racks @Jin Yu Tdg in Geylang. U got good lobang? Hey Nex, I may nid 2 of the switches. How much is each?
  3. Hi Stry How r u doing? hdb done wif the rectifications? My jus done wif tilings, waiting for them to fix the toilet doors and sanitary works.
  4. YUUUMMMYY! Wow, lots of love goes into it..... Looks good enough to go into commercial supply
  5. Goh, got a suggestion here.... DIY... get decal prints and stick Swarovski crystals, remember to add her fav item.... she will hv to cook only your fav food for u now.. Jus PM air con info to u... gd luck btw, how did u get the chinese characters?? Quite hopeless in these things.
  6. I PMed you. Didn't get it? I will send again.
  7. Hi Nex Dats nice of u... lucky u check, I think it was jus a miscom lah.... not dat they cheated u. About window grilles.... Do u plan to change the windows to other design or color some years later? If u do, then don't do grilles now. Also, if u plan to hv bb soon, then u wil nid it by the time bb reach 18 mths old, cos dats the time they start to climb . But I hv got friends dat didn't install even though they have children, cos they hv discipline their children. Our boy is very active, so we decide not to take the risk. I was quoted $1100 for the bronze aluminium type for the whole house (200 square ft). It costs more if u get the powder coated aluminium or wrought iron type, also look nicer lah. Actually if u install it later, they can do it in 1 day, just dat if u hv furniture around then its inconvenient lor. Also must take into consideration dat price of aluminium and iron is on a constant rise= more $$ when installed later. Just my tots....
  8. Hi Mrs Goh (I presume) Wat a piece of art dats also functional. I agree if my hb were to get dat fridge for me, i will cook alllll his fav food too.
  9. Hi Nex Theres no 3L gas heater, the available model is 5L. Check receipt, 5L still works well, most of my friends are still using them, just that if u use both toilets at the same time, the water not so hot lor. Hi guys, Thx for all the info for kitchen door. We r going to hv 1 ac in living and 1 in dining, so dats y nid to put door. Cos when u cook and ac is on....the smell will be trap in it for ages, also the heat from cooking and we cook everday. Me like full glass swing door, but with a 20 mth old around, swing glass is not practical. Dats Y the bi-fold choice, but now L3x mentioned PD doors catch fingers.... Also, bcos me not using id...no 3d to help visualise, hv to try hard to visualise watever our choice will look like.
  10. Hi guys New topic: KITCHEN DOOR. Wat r ur id suggestions? Bi-fold solid wood wif glass / swing glass..... Trying to decide whether to pay $1k for bi-fold solid wood wif frost glass panel or get PDDOOR woodgrain laminate with glass for half the price... Any suggestions? Thx
  11. Hi L3x Thx...I hv the contractor number. Its a Mr Lee, he told last sat that he wil rush and finish by tis weekend for me... I da*n scared of the RUSH word, wat if like u said theres more hollow tiles after the work done? James Huan is very nice and accomondating. He assures me that if theres any further defects, they will rectify it as long as it is within the 1st year period. Me find 2nd looks neater cos its a complete piece... and also more versatile can paint abstract design/put in fabric for a different look, etc. The 1st one will be more restrictive with the L shape if u wan to change the look abit... but at the same time it has more character.... OOPS hope not confusing u
  12. wow, classy.... L-shape!! Yeah... Very fast. me still waiting for LOUSY...ST**ID hdb contractor to finish up... Should hv bite the bullet & did wat Felix done....
  13. about my reno....hdb contractor still not done... stil the same as last sat I was on the phone with James Huan for a gd 15 mins...hopefully dat wil yeild some positive results. I prefer the 2nd one, looks neater...
  14. Hi Nex Wow...dats good progress. U mean the Rinnai 8L gas heater has been installed?! They told me it would be available only in 15th May too....
  15. Hi Goh It may be his diet/shampoo. Our girl has the same problem and we change her dried food and now uses baby shampoo instead of the medicated type, we still uses the oatmeal shampoo once a month on her and it helps. Sometimes if keep using strong cleansing shampoo may cause skin to become dry and itchy. Our vet prescribed some predisolone to help with the itch and now we give her 1/2 tab once every two days, we also wipe her feet with baby wipes after each walk. Yeast infection is contagious and can pass to human, so if he smells and skin flaky, safer to send him to vet. Hope tis useful....
  16. Hi L3x Thanks for the info. No, we hvn't order the racks, a little too early for us to do that now. My hb got contact for the galvanised type, price about 30% cheaper than the SS type, most probably going for that. Wil be going to check it out in a couple of weeks time, wil take some pics and post them here... This is the contact for the galvanised boltless store rack. Sim Win Liang Pte Ltd 15 Little Rd #01-01 S(536988) Tel : 62966692 Fax : 6288 8544 Its $160 for a 5 ft width and $110 for 3ft. includes delivery and installation.
  17. Hi SmartFool According to what I know, you can't undermount stainless steel sink. Undermounting do eliminate the mold around the sink, but theres still silicon around any joints/edges of the top joining the wall. You hv to keep area dry and sterilise everyday with a bleach/water to reduce the mold and any other harmful agents. Theres anti-mold silicon available in the market now, so can also request for contractor to use that. Anyway, silicon deteriorate over time, so there will be a need to redo them after some years. Hope this helps...
  18. Hi L3x Lovely colors luv your living and MBR. Looks classy and cosy.
  19. I was quoted $450 for copper for hot & cold pipes to both toilets and kitchen sink. If u want the rain shower set, the cheapest and ok quality(dat I came across) is SIMS from Sim Siang Choon around $200. The simple type can be from $40+ to $200+. The brand ROZ from Hoe Kee is pretty affordable too. Frankly speaking, I would pay a bit more for taps and such, cos to replace them later would costs more... plumber charges min $60 to $80 per trip excluding parts. Jin Yu Trading is @676 Geylang Road. Can try to ask for discounts if u can self-collect and DIY. Its a pretty simple system to set up. I was quoted 5' breadth x 6' height x 20" width : $218, 4' breadth was $188. Btw, wheres Jimmy's, I m looking for blinds/curtain maker. Thx....
  20. Hi Felix, I m in a rush to move, cos I had already delay once, my landlord is very nice, but i don't want to push my luck. My son's childcare has also been arranged, etc... Yeah Stry Better not to rush, especially with the hdb, cos u won't know how they will do the rectifications when u push them too hard...really at their mercy. Take the time to go thru the details and make a reno planner, it helps me wif my effort to save $ and running around to get stuff on my own, rather than to jus rely on renovator (forgive me , i m not the trusting type).
  21. for the heater... i think on the long run, its really saves u on energy bills... but the chances of it spoiling... dont think anyone here can ans... cos tis kind of products r still quite new... but wont b as fequent as the storage type one... cos it cant store water, which after a period of time, will start leaking one, which a few of whom i know kanna it le... so i think u really got to give it some serious thought... Hi Nex, L3x After checking around wif pple who is using gas heater, its lifespan is definately longer than 5 years, cos unlike storage, it wouldn't rust/leak... as for instant heater, due to constant pushing/turning of controls lasts about 3 to 5 years. My problem wif them is the thermostat control, different brands/models sets it differently. Difficult to determine which is suitable, cos we like to shower with full blasts in the morning to wake us up..... Again wif regards to stainless steel racks, check for which grade of ss. If u are looking for ss, theres a store at Geylang Road named Jin Yu, they hv quite a gd range of dimensions, they stocked those nice looking ones that is sold in Ikea and also prices very much cheaper than Ikea and furniture stores. We r lookg at some galvanised ones which is much cheaper.
  22. Hi Nex For Stainless Steel (SS), 304 is the common grade that is offered, it is a low grade that rusts over time. The acceptable grade is 303(won't rust), highest grade is 316... but price unacceptable though (about 2-3 times more than 304). Hpes tis is useful..
  23. They hacked all the tiles within 3 days and we were thinkg Wow... not bad quite fast... dat was week b4. took a look last sat... only kitchen wall tiles r done and barely started on the floor. Call contractor, he claims dat hdb contractors cannot work on sat, sunday and public holidays , but he says he will send 2 tilers to work on my place tis week and projected date of completion: 10th... now i kinda regret, wat if they any oh how lay, then die lah, back to hollow tiles/bad alignment problem rite?
  24. We r lookg for acs too. We are kinda decided on Toshiba(made in Japan), non-inverter too, cos we prefer fans and ac is jus for the super hot mths like now. We got a quote from ALLBEST, we think its a very gd price, if interested pls PM me. Hi Goh U r very welcome. I got quoted fro $280 per solid naytoh door and $240 per hollow laminate door (but looks very nice and can match your wardrobe design). COOL...not noisy We r within walking distance to the Jurong Lake Park, which is really nice for furry/human babies. We should plan a bbq/picnic or something there when we hv all settle in....
  25. Hi L3x Sorry, I think my writing skills is going down the drain . Wat I meant is dat my mixers is a GROHE set dat i got at a steal from an exhibition, its the exhibited set. So, i got the rod, rose, and the smaller head for $140 from Hoe Kee. It is attached via the flexi steel pipe to the outlet of the mixer. Actually I think in the long run, gas heater is still cheaper than instant heater, cos the heater is $148.00 + $480.00(hot water piping), where each instant heater is around $200 ($200 x 2 = $400) and electricity costs more. Nex As for the ? about copper vs stainless steel pipes.... there r many different grade of stainless steel, my renovator offer same price for copper and stainless steel, but its a lower grade of ss, so it will rust. SS looks gd, but copper function better with heat. If u want SS, hv to get a better grade SS, I wil check for the acceptable grade and post it here... U nid info urgently?
