Hi calliecats, Nice! The color combination here is very well thought. BTW, I like the standing lamp. Where did you get it and how much did you pay for it?

Reiki replied to Valerie Low's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat - HDB Resale Renovation & Interior Design
Yes, it is possible to rotate it, Valerie. What we cannot do is to create a new hole. You need to liaise closely with your contractor/plumber and get their advice to which type of WC you need. I understand there might be a need for a different trap (P-Trap) WC. Importantly, get the measurement surrounding the hole and its area when sourcing out for WC. The shops will advice you on the range accordingly. Regards, Reiki -
Hi there, kewpons, Thank You for reading the blog and your kind compliments. My apology for this late reply -- I have PMed you the contact. Regards, Reiki

Yes, it is possible to do that. Get your carpenter to 'scrap-off' the design. Once done, you have a choice of either re-painting or laminate it. In my case, I have the door laminated. Happy reno, romeltic.

Hi Charm, Sorry for the late reply - was away. Thanks for reading up my TBlog. Have PMed you the info. Regards.

Thanks for that compliment, snappy. Personally, I must say that all woodworks done by our joiner is good - it still looks, and function, well today. Did witness the workers installing some of the carpentry during renovation, and they were very meticulous. The boss came almost everyday to check too. Shall PM you my ID contact. Regards, Reiki

Wow, open kitchen concept! Nice but come with a price, eh and I guess not for those with heavy cooking? I have a friend whose layout is very similar to yours. With you intending to hack the kitchen wall will make it even more spacious. Looking forward to your reno, battle.

Oops, paiseh ValerieLow - didn't know of your query here till a friend told me. Thank You for reading the blog. Yup, I must agree that our Architect Designer did a good job 'hiding' a lot of things in the house. About the concealed bricks, I am not sure. One thing for sure, our designer had a consultation session and liaised with HDB before the renovation. When HDB Technical Officer came to my place to inspect, there was no issue. I shall PM you her contact. Regards, Reiki

Wah, happy holidays! Go to their website and enquire - http://www.ppwanphencurtain.com/. When we ordered and told them the urgency, they were able to accommodate. Yes, they will deliver the curtain to the hotel. Re the home decor stuffs, we got it mainly at Chatuchak Weekend Market. Either at the Handicraft Section which is usually open on weekdays too or inside the Arts and Decor Section inside Chatuchak on weekend. This section is just across the Kamphaeng Phet MRT Station, Exit 2. Some stuffs are from MBK. Happy shopping, Cavalier.

What we did to our kitchen cabinet, which is mainly pullout drawers, with different width and height and get our carpenter to install the BLUM blumotion mechanism. This way, we didn't get the tandembox but only the necessary BLUM blumotion soft closing hardware . As such, we were able to custom made each drawer with different width and height. I think tandem is just Blum drawers with blumotion mechanism. Whereas Tandembox is the tandem plus the metal drawers. (I may be wrong though).

It's good to hear that it is useful. Should you are hiding some wires inside cabinet/wardrobe, it is best for both electrician and carpenter to work together. That, each one of them is informed where you want to place any sockets.

Heyya matrox, Yup, it is unfortunate for the country facing with such a bad problem. Probably, it takes few months for things to be restored. Worse, the place that I love going at the Handicrafts & Arts section of Chatuchak Weekend Market is probably affected too. Hehe, take it that we can meanwhile save more money for the future trip.

Wow enrico!, the flooring at your staircase landing is impressive! Most HDBs will just be screed cement.

I love the space in your spacious house,schiz0id. Hope renovation can be completed as the schedule.
-
Sorry to hear about the problem, schiz0id. In your neighbour's case, renovation should technically be over even if it is said to be still ongoing. My point, hacking of floors should have been given a date by HDB. There is always a time period for renovation to be completed. Should your ID is able to confirm that it is a leakage/sippage issue, to inform HDB will only get your neighbour to re-do the floor. Then, it will be 50/50 costs sharing. I am sure to get your neighbour to re-do will give you more peace of mind. Just my 2-cents.

Hi bro matrox, I believe this is the website for the curtain maker that I engaged in Bangkok - http://www.ppwanphencurtain.com/ From the website, the 081 number is for mobile and 02 is, my guessing, the office. Are you planning to go BKK?
-
Hi matrox, Haha, you are kind with your words .. and 'Thank You'! Have PM-ed you the info. Regards.

Hi schiz0id, I hope it is not too late to congratulate you, and family, on this purchase of a huge house. Reading through your TBlog is very interesting. Nice works so far. Really like it the way you re-organize the walls to create space. Enjoy seeing all the photos. Happy reno.
