  1. Hehe, sorry to kaypoh and giving a comment abit. For viewing comfort, the TV should be at eye level from the sofa. Perhaps, having this in mind will let your ID revised the design accordingly. Anyway, nice renovation, mae.
  2. Hi Kumi, My prayers to you. Your injuries are, indeed, making me feel uncomfortable - hope you have gone to the doctor and get them treated properly. Are those glasses tempered or they are just plain glass? Take care and hopefully you are getting much rest. Hopefully, the house renovation will also be completing soon. Regards, Reiki
  3. Hi Kerio, Indeed, it can be very frustrating when promises are not delivered and when responsibilities are not held with full conviction. I am full of empathy, for you and your wife, reading through your TBlog. The good thing is your spirit, Kerio - you are keeping your head up and trying to be positive about the whole thing. Hopefully, the renovation will end soon and all those that was promised, and paid for, are not shortchanged.
  4. Woah headstomp, could feel your excitement with all the posted pictures. Reno nicely done, congrats! Your house, from all these photos, is already exuding good calm vibrations. Could see from one of the photos, once the lift upgrading is finally over, it is like living in a condo with the lift just outside your house. Taking this opportunity wishing you and your family a joyful stay in this wonderful house of yours.
  5. And I like your place too! Hehe, and I enjoy reading your blog, edward.
  6. Thanks, abupapa. You've got mail!
  7. Five months after we moved in, unfortuantely my doggie passed on due to her health complications. I got most of the deco stuffs/art pieces from Bangkok. Must say, with the recent bad situation in Thailand, shopping for such things is reasonably cheap now. The ambience of your house, through all the pictures, gives a feeling that it is a private condo. Especially with the 'glass' things at the main entrance. Hmm, is it a private condo? And I like the lush greneries outside your living area.
  8. I guess it depends on a person's habit and lifestyle. Some people would prefer to have these switches at a convenient place if these gadgets are often used. While others emphasize a clean aesthetic look hiding them away. Hehe, I would go for clean aesthetic cos habits can change.
  9. Maybe can try Lightcraft @ Jalan Sultan.
  10. Our ID highly encouraged us to go for such an open concept and we grew to like it. But, it was largely because we needed a bigger space for our doggie to do her business, under the vanity.
  11. PMed you. Hopefully, you are making the right choice. There are pros and cons. I have no regrets choosing the glossy homogeneous tiles for my kitchen. Infact, I should have extended it to the dry area of my toilets too.
  12. Hehe, I almost bought a unit [right picture, HDB point block] opposite your flat two years back. I like your area and with the upcoming Jurong Lake District development, it will be an interesting area to live in. Like your idea to extend the balcony and the MBR. Happy reno.
  13. Interesting! My ID suggested 'glassed walled' for my guestroom but just didn't have the courage to go ahead with it. Yours is well done and I like the portruded wooden ledge out to your dining area. Indeed, these 'glassed walleds' brighten up the space. Nice reno, bentwy.

    Water Fountain

I am not sure if this shop, Astoria Floral Design and Landscape, still carries such fountains. It is the floral shop in Thomson Plaza, #01. They used (wah, it was like 2 years ago) to carry these angelic garden items including water fountain. You may want to try to call them @ 6457-0114 before heading down.
  15. Picture perfect!! Indeed, it is such a clean lined renovation and interiors. Nicely done, wind30. Hehe, [just my opinion] think your wife did the right thing to change the staircase. It now looks contemporary and modern and give a sense of space. It enhances and compliments the overall beauty and ambience to the whole house as one enters it. To you and family, enjoy the stay in the house! I believe, it is always a good feeling coming home after a tired day of work. .. haha, and I can just drool looking at all the pictures.
  16. Gosh!!! I am full of envy at your house layout! What a big space you have, headstomp plus the recess area that you now owned. So much hacking done and I believe the house gonna be so bright and airy. Surely, it will turn out warm, nice and cozy. Happy reno and more pics!!
  17. I tend to agree with bepgof here. Not because I am having the glossy HG tiles. If I have a choice to redo my renovation, I will use glossy HG tiles for my bathroom too BUT not at the shower area. My bathrooms use black matt. Over time, it does give the 'dull and dead' effect. Water marks and specks of dusts are more obvious. On matt, you cannot mop it wet-wet as it leaves obvious water marks. Hehe, no wonder we often feel so good in a hotel where the bathroom is often laid with glossy tiles. Glossy HG tiles are not that slippery as many thought it would be.
  18. It really depends on your lifestyle. There are pros and cons to go for homo gloss for kitchen floor tiles. We opted for the glossy tiles for our kitchen. Primarily, because we don't cook heavily and intensively (not much deep frying). This, the cooking thing, should be the utmost consideration. And, I guess the other consideration is whether you are having toddlers or elders living in the house. We have been staying here for two years and the floors are not slippery. It is easy to maintain. So far, no regrets. Personally, a glossy tile laid in kitchen gives it a modern look. Our kitchen in our second year:
  19. If you have a good working relationship with your ID, get him/her to buy the chairs on your behalf. On top of a discount, your ID should get another trade discount. It can be quite substantial. Hehe, but this can only happen if your ID is willing not to 'earn' from you for this transaction.
  20. Salute you lah, New! Come to think of it, good idea to keep changing things in the house too. So that it will look new all the time. Not sure if this is a good lobang - try Mega Discount for the fridge.
  21. Hi Jemalene, Thanks, thanks Have just PMed you. Happy Reno.
  22. Many thanks for the info, 4d_striker Another friend mentioned that too (that Ikea does carry these items) but another group of friends suggested to get a proper chengal or hardy wood.
  23. New!New! As always, you are such a RT darling! Me fine fine and how abt you? Your house fully completed? Anyway, found the thing at a nursery in Jurong West. Thanks for your lead.
  24. Hoping to get some help here, and probably a better chance to get the item faster and cheaper through RT resources. Where can I get this item and where would be the cheaper place: Many thanks!
