  1. No no, you got it wrong. We were talking about another thing [the 'floating' as in the pictures]:
  2. LOL .. dunno if new happy this tblog is hijacked again ah! coffee, you check what's the price of those models in the market first. After an informed search, my lobang sure cannot run away but to offer a slightly lower price. Oh, btw, this lobang is not related to me one hor. I can PM you the contact for you to call if you want.
  3. Hehe, just happen to see this question. Yup, the wardrobe door has no wood backing.
  4. Hehe, I took that plywood pic - it was a sample made by my carpenter for the joinery works in the house. Reading jaskel's informative post on wood [in another forum], it only makes sense that blockboard is NOT 'more expensive than plywood'. Jaskel is right for you to get some form of deduction since the initial contract is for you to get solid plywood. Getting warranty does not serve a better purpose here. If the cabinets are not going through heavy usage [water/heavy weights], they can outlast the warranty period. Meanwhile, it affects our mind knowing that the wood used are not durable enough. Hope things will settle in your favour, elane.
  5. Eh, asking for more things? Here .. go look at this - Sony KDL-32V5500 32" (81cm) Full HD 1080 BRAVIA LCD TV with BRAVIA ENGINE 3 Can get at S$899 - when you are ready to get it, I can give u the contact This is the V Series. The S Series is even cheaper!
  6. New, this is my framed tempered glass for kitchen.
  7. I am faceless too! Hehe, already explained to pink in PM about it.
  8. LOL. I also headache trying to decipher what I wrote. The groove makes it easier for these glasses not to get dirty from floor [ok, worst explanation]. And when it comes to clean, especially with vacuum cleaner, it makes it easier to go under it [hmm, dunno how to explain in words ah! ]
  9. New, I knew you sent me messages in my dream but I can't seem to remember the questions leh. Old liow lah. Anyway, hopefully, the following info helps: 01. MBR Wardrobe I am not sure if the glass is tempered. It was fabricated by Formwell Singapore [Formwell Singapore Site]. These doors are heavy ah! The pictures: The tracking I didnt like it the way the doors are hung but boh-the-pian. It was just not possible to have 'pelmet' to cover the ugly top track. Formwell said it was their normal way to hang such doors. 02. Glass doors for kitchen I didnt weigh the weight for this sliding door of my friend Next time I go there, I hope to remember to bring the weighing machine. Hehehe. The picture for you to look-see:
  10. Hey there precious! LOL .. I also not sure how to react ah. How's yr business eh? hope it fills with prosperity every day! Huat ah!
  11. Saw that swee swee console of yours ler [in yr tblog]. Err, i think bestest is not to silicon it -- just leave it BUT make sure the glass edges have been smoothen. It is just me lah, think with silicone abit difficult for future maintenance plus hor, with time the silicon will kinda turn color and will make it obvious ah. Now I remember why mine is 20cm above flooring -- firstly, to keep consistency with all the custom made cabinets which 'float' for easy cleaning. Err, don't quite make sense but, having stayed for almost a year now, it is actually sensible.

Hehe, this is double posting by me - replied in forkie's thread. Rasp, it didn't occur to me to check when all my doors were being installed. Just had a check and all my doors are not 'exposed' - and I think, professionally, the carpenter should not have left it exposed. I find it is just weird to leave that part not laminated. It can be an injury hazard zone in future - say, when you are going to wipe clean the door and not using any ladder to do it. Wood splinters might get in the way. BTW, I always enjoy reading your updates - there is always a sense of joy. Your house is looking great, Rasp.
  13. Checked all my bedroom doors [after seeing this] and all are covered. I will not accept should it is 'raw'. Hmm, another piece of laminate to cover that area won't cost the carpenter a bomb.
  14. New, LOL - was wondering how come my blog back to up-the-ladder .. skali *shock* to hear yr latest errr saga. Hmm, think just drop the idea lah .. look forward, look ahead. Laminate can be nice leh
  15. wah! few days didnt log here and you are back with such a high good spirit! keep the good feeling, new - it will surely make your stay-in HUAT HUAT HUAT! everything looks good ler, with lots of blum summore - but hor, i prefer a plain door .. hehehe,
  16. Alternatively, instead of hacking (which will cost you more moolah damage) you may want to consider 'pasting' a narrow strip of stainless steel. The 'pasting' has to be done with industrial glue. Do let me know if you are keen to get a customized stainless steel contact. BTW, your house is looking good.
  17. A very organised place! It shows with the way you hang all your clothes in the master wardrobe. I like the way you played with the pieces of parquet lined up to form the toilet door. It was an idea that I dropped when doing my place -- kinda regretted not doing it now after seeing your place. Well done, Ripples. I am sure it is a place that you would be comfortable staying in and a place where all your guests will not want to leave back to their homes. Congrats!
  18. I believe a 'box-up' with tiles is possible to hide the pipe without hacking. The tiler just have to neatly line the tiles to conceal it. Though, it may end up looking rather bulky, it would achieve your objective to conceal things in your house. Err, in my opinion, the end of the water pipe should bend to follow the contour of the tile. Most aircon pipes end at the drainage. I find it rather weird that yours abruptly end that way. Water dripping out of the pipe, when the aircon is switched on and particularly at night, can cause some noise if your hearing is sensitive. Sorlie to give you headache hor, new.
  19. It's picture perfect of the empty house, new. Take heart, be merry and look forward. Everything will go well - and, not to stress yourself n hubby much. Hehe, and welcome back! Huat ah!

I like your idea to maintain consistency. Indeed, it will raise the ambience - subtle and nice.
  21. Another thing about having too many ridges [of the floor tiles] is the accumulation of soapsuds. Overtime it leaves white stains. Maintenance for such tiles is important where scrubbing must be done often.
  22. Nice place, aoiaoi! Hehe, just kaypoh with some comments: There isn't any console, right but just a piece of 'wall'? If I have a choice, I would proportionate the 'wall' - perhaps, 2/3 off ceiling and 1/3 off flooring. I would rather leave the gap as it is. This will make the window dressing [either blinds/curtains] to fall nicely into the gap.
  23. The info that I get: Legrand's silver is either silver gloss or stardust grey. As there are variants for paint codes from different company, when purchasing the paint [or spray paint], pick the grey as close to silver gloss or stardust grey. The stardust grey is matte.
  24. Haha, cannot tahan laffing at me, rite? 01. Managed to get carpenter to do the groove for the door anot? 02. Managed to get free workmanship minus laminate for main door anot? 03. Managed to get 4 door hinges for every doors anot? 04. Managed to get more liscount anot? And, I really tahan until cannot tahan wan burst out liao oso.
