Does anyone knows the price range for Franke Ovens?
-
My husband and I went there yesterday and I say their pricing is quite reasonable . Oven starts from 600 and up. Feature wise it's okey. My husband is keen on purchasing hood , hob and sink as well .

We went there this afternoon and my husband was totally sold off. He is keen on purchasing hood, hob, oven, sink and soap dispenser there. I admire the salesperson who attended to us, very knowledgeable and accomodating . He was very patient with all our queries. I think pricewise very reasonable so I feel there is no need to ask for discount. We also went to Poo Joo and other stores but I was turned off with their lack of knowledge with the products. Cuizino looks okey to me too. Rinnai is a trusted brand (out of stock for months now). I'm having a hard time deciding . I've been searching for feedback on Bellari products but feedback very elusive

Is Bellari a better brand than Rinnai? I intend to buy hood, hob and oven but can't make up my mind which is better. I'm also not familiar of Bellari pricing . Is it more expensive than Rinnai or the other way around?

Met with max last week...he said Sunday he can e-mail us the quotations...still no news from him till now Maybe he's not interested in small projects -
Thanks! I'm also in the process of learning with regards to cooking and baking. When I got married the only thing I know is to boil water but later on when I started to have kids that's when I started to have passion for cooking and baking since it's really a happy feeling whenever my husband and kids complements me. I'm a self taught baker (never attended any formal lessons) and I rely on books and my personal kitchen experiments to gain knowledge and improve my baking skill. I agree with you, ovens are expensive and in your case if you won't be using it often it's only practical to get the double function microwave ovens. Been using a portable Rowenta oven for two years now but i will definitely buy a built in oven when we move to our newly bought re-sale flat this may. The only downside side in using portable ones is the size of the oven. You cannot bake it in one go. If you have a larger oven you can bake 2 trays of cookies or 2x 9 inch cake pans in a short time and having a fan forced oven is also really good since oven heat is evenly distributed without moving the pans up and down. A fan forced oven insures even browning of the surface. Also you bake them at less the recommended time so less energy consumption.

Thanks for your kind words baking for me is therapeutic and I'm sure you'll feel the same way too once you baked your first bread and cake from scratch ...it's addicting ! I'll definitely wait for your feedback ... it's ok...I'm a newbie too

Actually, Ariston was the first brand I've considered but after reading some negative feedbacks about Mayer in forums I changed my mind. They say some of their products spoils easily ... and they have bad after service...I don't want to take the risk since the oven is built in and I cannot just throw it away if it spoils.

Surprisingly, the guy I'm talking to sent his quotations thru e-mail last night and even called twice to confirm if we received it. It was nice of him to get back to us in a short time but unfortunately his quote came out the most expensive of all the 6-7 ID's we've talked to . And even if his quote would come out cheaper, I don't think so I would consider him .... the damage is done Good for you .... at least you've surpassed the stage of choosing the right ID...now you're just awaiting for your reno to finish

It's also my first time to buy a built in oven but been using a portable oven for almost 2 years now. I do alot of baking...you can see it here in my blog...Initially I'm interested in Brandt but it's way over my budget . Their oven costs from 799-1,699. I'm considering Cuizino or Rinnai. I'm also curious about Bellari but I still don't know what the price range for their ovens .

I didn't mention any Kelvin here. In fact I don't know the name of the guy who we talked to. My issue here is with the guy with the attitude problem who works for *Plan and not the company itself. Don't you think it's degrading to be advised to check out the prices of oven, basins, shower screens etc in IMM and see if we could afford it including the expenses of renovation? I have been reading this site since we started to look for a house and more or less I've read most of the post here. Of course I'm not making my judgement because of what I've read in these forum and I too agree with you that it's my own opinion and experience which matters when deciding for an ID.

so expensive! -
Thanks everyone for the encouragement !! . I really appreciate it. I would definitely not be swayed because of one unhappy incident. Just like when we were looking for a flat, there were several times we were disappointened and disheartened but I firmly believe there is that particular house which is really meant for us. Now that we've found it I know in my heart theres also one renovation firm destined for us !!

My husband and I went to IMM yesterday to get quotation for our reno. We will only be renovating our kitchen and 2 toilets. I have read so much about * Plan and as what I read it's one of the good renovation firm to engage. I was rather optimistic about it but it turned a big nightmare for me and my husband. We went there for a quotation and the the guy we talked to instead gave us lecture regarding the budget . He kept on bringing the topic of considering our budget. He given gave us a list of things to buy like the wash basin, shower screen, oven, hood etc... In the first place we never came to the point of negotiating for the budget since he never quoted us anything nor are we dumb enough to go there without knowing what we are getting ouselves in. I wanted him to quote us certain things such as black granite countertop and instead he discouraged us and said black granite is no good and I should settle using post form countertop. I also asked me I wanted a a black tempered glass backsplash for my kitchen, and again said its not a good idea to use one . Whenever we try to suggest something he would discourage it . He said that renovating a house shouldn't be taken lightly and requires careful consideration. I totally agree with him but I don't think he was in a position to assume that we cannot afford a renovation. I never felt humiliated and insulted in my entire life . If he thinks our project is quite small compared to other projects that he handles by all means he should have been frank and said he is not interested... at least we wouldnt waste our time listening to him. I didn't get his name and I 'm not interested in knowing who he is. Nor did he offer to give us his business card. It was downright clear both parties share mutual feeling of dislike.

We paid 24K COV for a 4-room resale flat in Choa Chu Kang. For us we had no choice but to buy an HDB flat here in Singapore since the one we are renting is already sold. The rent has sky rocketed and we feel it was not an option to pay a very high rent for something that won't be ours in the long run. When we were house hunting last January we were so shocked that owners are asking such huge unreasonable COV even if the property itself needs total overhaul .
