  1. Oh yes! I overlooked that. I had seen the 75sqm unit previously, totally forgot about the kitchen layout and the irregular shape of the bathroom, my apologies. You're right, Drac, I do have my heater in the shower area but not directly above, that would be too risky and dangerous. I do wonder really how many of the 90sqms actually have their heater in the bathrooms. The ID die die said cannot and the plumber had no idea how to do it. But after careful study of the pipes layout and system, its a matter of intercepting at the right place, its a closed loop after all. Good idea this one, Porkypig! Never thought of that then, how silly. Wonder if still possible, well, I need to do some research I think I saw some photos before, somebody had removed the heater pipe ends in the kitchen wall and hide behind the tiles, thought that is really cool. Can this somebody share the photos again and how much it cost to do it?
  2. Hey Jacky, why not install in bathroom? It can be done! You will appreciate its location better eventually. I think the wait from turning on to having hot water can be easily attributed to the distance of the pipes from the heater. Not sure if you did it in the kitchen too, Dracula, but we had ours installed in the bathroom (after having looked VERY VERY closely at Liana's installation and telling the plumber what to do) so takes a couple of seconds for the hot water to reach the bathroom taps. Only problem i noticed is that, if you have the heater turned on and someone in kitchen is washing and accidentally turn the tap to the hot water side, you find hot water coming out and that's such a waste (the pipes from the heater to the kitchen tap is all filled with hot water accidentally) sigh..
  3. I though Home2Be owned by OM? There's a thread here about that. Fact check please. Livingstory/life story or whatever that company at No. 18 Genting Road is now registered under 'Fashion Home' right? That's what it says in the newspaper. Why the change?
  4. Our reno finished liao One of those things we decided to get on our own because ID charged exhorbitant amount. Appreciate if there is someone who would share contacts directly to supplier
  5. 79 neighbours, Anyone with contacts to contractors for glass kitchen backsplash/backing? Looking at about 3ft. Anyone did before recently and the amount paid? Thanks and cheers
  6. Anyone with contacts to contractors for glass kitchen backsplash/backing? Looking at about 3ft. Anyone did before recently and the amount paid? Thanks and cheers
  7. Hehehe, our ID better. I think he abandoned ship already, 3 weeks never call, never return calls, looks like he doesn't want his last 10%, hehe.
  8. Well, the cheaper alternative to Blum is certainly Ikea's system, which the same as Blum, because it is designed by Blum for Ikea
  9. hi Tension, you might want to try Mr Chan, hp:90083524, we used him yesterday for our plumbing needs hehehe. Nice guy and can bargain, can say i recommend. And he is registered with Singapore Plumbing Society http://www.plumbing.org.sg/reg_plumber.htm
  10. Aesthetic approach, where people can see, use stainless steel. Where hidden cannot see, use copper That's how we fixed ours.
  11. Try Lightcraft near Lavender MRT/Jalan Sultan, nice selection and most importantly transparent pricing. Can check out our blog for the pixs
  12. Hey ilmare, thank you Though not Friven actually But I have seen those Friven table lamps, i love! This one is about $160 or so, I guess it is a good buy. Bought from Lightcraft, checking them out?
  13. Thanks, Congee, almost there, just left some of our personal projects, some plumbing and touch ups. Congratulations on the completion!! You must be very tired already, welcome to the phase 2, where you move things in But I think, safe to say, ID abandoned this project already hahahaha..2 weeks haven't called, not interested in his 10% it seems. Still have a few touch up on his side, but I can do those for very little money compared to the 10%...anyway, we will complain to RADAC and Case eventually, he shouldn't be going around doing things like this right? Woes? hmm..many. Well, the thing that we hated most is the lying. He's always trying to pull a fast one as though we are not aware of anything that is happening in our house. Like saying, 'Oh, table top people came twice to measure, that's why the delay'. They only came once, I know because i was there and at all other times the house is triple locked, so we are there when people are doing work. Or when people don't turn up, 'Oh they came in the morning, the house was locked, so they left'...what the ****, I was there too and nobody turned up hahaha...we are very proactive one
  14. No problem! I am unsure though how much they charge per foot run. Why because it depends on how much of the poles and accessories you use actually. They will quote accordingly. And after having done the research, we can safely say that Besglas offers the best. For ours below, we paid about $1500 for it Love it very much actually!
  15. We did our wardrobe and doors with Besglas, pretty happy with their service and promptness. Sorry not answering your question but its my 2 cents worth. Maybe you can consider Besglas for pole system wardrobe. There are photos in our blog.
  16. Hi Ryuki, Better have your lights checked. To have trips is not normal hehe, something is wrong somewhere. We had the same problem one night, a whole stretch of PLCs tripped. Got the electrician in, and he started blaming 'this kind of china lights no good ah'. But I was there the whole time when they rectified, then found out its their workmanship, didn't connect points properly, hahaha..then he paisey because his worker at fault...so nice nice to me after that. Better get it checked, don't want to start a fire next time!
  17. Sorry but what kind of response is this?! Its bothering on rudeness, dear friend.
  18. Agreed, Aves, especially all those aunties and uncles with new CPF money...this is their kind of target market...they won't raise a storm like we do and more likely to brush their woes away... On another note, don't look like house will be completed this weekend...sigh...
  19. Looking great!! From experience, carpenters/ID always try to get away with their mistakes or their 'suka-suka' own decisions, until we spot them of course But its a good thing your ID and carpenters are re-doing their mistakes without too much complain, quite happy for you.
  20. Nice! We were impressed with their service too, not yet bought though, will be doing so in the next couple of weeks.
  21. Oh, nothing is wrong actually, just wondering how to clean laminates on a regular basis, say after cooking or when they get dirty. Will try out the 'thinner' suggestion, thanks, Jacky!
  22. Wah, finally you have a blog! Starting reno already? Is that curved block in the photo the old Block 79? Toa Payoh looks so desolated back then!
  23. Anyone knows the proper way to clean laminates on kitchen cabinet? Just water and detergent will do? Also, has anyone noticed that the mailbox slots are sometimes easy to open and sometimes locked? First time around last week, i thought somebody tampered with our mailboxes and that the inside lock was broken. Then yesterday, it seems okay leh...still firm, cannot push in. Why ah?
  24. Another good reason for glass door is if you have aircon in living room, less floor space for aircon to cool and save more money
  25. Hey Drac, welcome welcome to our humble blog Ya man, in fact we signed in March...but hopefully the handing over is next Saturday, almost everything is in, just the touch ups. Yours like fast right? Its always good to have a good project manager aka ID who is responsible and timely hahaha... Our neighbour next door took 3 weeks only...we were a bit depressed when we passed by sometimes
