hi all, i'm looking to buy a slow cooker to make soup or stew... i saw some of the rice cookers that has the "slow cook" or "stew" function. is this good or useful? is it as good as having a seperate slow cooker? what are the things i need to look out for if i am buying the combined rice cooker cum slow cook function??

DURO. They have a package that includes gate lock, door and the postbox, all using same key. i think the price is about $210 or so. anyway price is standard. cannot find some shopes selling cheaper than the others.

The film brand is Llumar. one of the best in the market. they OEM for some of 3M films. contact number for Window Cool can be found in web. i can tell you its a world of difference between no films and got films on yr windows. price is reasonable.

u got the wrong info..... its the other way round. if u use more units or all the units at the same time, invertor will not help u to save $$. it will be the same as non-invertor. if u only use 1 or 2 units at one time, then invertor will save $$

if u are using 1 or 2 unit at one time, all the MORE u should get inverter..... this is where the energy savings come in.

just buy toshiba brand... forget abt Mitsubishi.......

nope.... i think toshiba is 100% made in japan. its the other brands tat are assembly in other countries. the best way to find out is to call Carrier company. they are the distributor of Toshiba. sounds a good deal..... anyway no need to go ard shopping for cheaper prices.. everywhere the prices are abt the same... no much difference at all. the most impt thing is the installation quality. this is the MOST impt thing. no point u pay 100 bucks cheaper for selling price but the installation quality is crap. assured tat toshiba is a good brand to buy. u wont go wrong with toshiba

you can also Mega Discount Store at United Sq or Katong Mall. if you are buying few items together, go to this shop. if u are going to United Sq branch, look for Joe. I bought many stuff from him and the prices are really good.

i dun have pics of this coz no point taking pics of window films.... you cant tell any difference anyway. its just a pc of film on window. maybe wait till my blinds are up.... then i can take pics of the blinds.

personally, i think its best that you are around. contractors cannot make all decisions for you. as a owner, you need to take some own responsibility on certain things. anyway, PUB guys can come on Sats. so you can be around on Sats. BUT let me tell you about the punctuality of PUB guy. My own PUB guy's appointment is from 2pm to 4pm Sat. He came exactly at 4pm. made me wait for whole 2 hours. the BEST part is that their PUB 1800 Customer service hotline doesnt work on Sats....... i waited until 3.30pm, and getting worried that the PUB guy may forget to come. i tried calling the 1800 number, no response and the message says the centre is closed. STUPID. And the gas connection job only 5 mins to do it. pls remember that PUB will charge you $50 for it.

hi all, for those keen to know the prices. this film is Llumar brand. to my guess, this is a very good brand from US. i'm not promoting it. just a normal paying customer. the price range is from $4 to $22 per sq ft. dun worry abt the $22 price range. the films you likely to choose for your home will only be around $4-$5. $22 ones are those for commercial type. mine is $4+ type per sq ft. of course there are cheaper competitors in mkt. For example, i found out Perfect Window is selling for $3.5 per sf ft, BUT its NOT Llumar brand. Its their own brand. So i dun really trust Perfect Window. i rather pay abit more for established brands. Llumar actually make films for 3M. kind of OEM for 3M films. the reason why i choose Window cool is coz of the sales guy i deal with and the company profile. how to estimate yr window costs? just roughly measure your window and calculate in sq feet by roughly $4.50 or so. I choose both highly reflective films and non-reflective films. there are so many kind of colour films to choose. so if you dun want too dark, then choose a lighter shade of film. i see the workers paste up the films, its not tat easy as DIY. and 2 workers took 3 hours to paste up my windows. so its kind of hard work. they are good coz if they paste up no good, they will just simply tear off the film and use a new one to re-paste again. so they got their own standard to maintain. they wont anyhow 'eat snake' and dun care if the films are properly pasted or not. just call up the company and arrange for an appt for the sales guy to come to yr home to measure. no obligations at all. remember that they also do blinds or curtains. the sales guy will bring every sample along with him. i dun gain anything from saying all this. hi, i think we both bought the same table!!! did u pay $699 for the table with 2 benches? its 1.4 metre, right? dun tell me u paid for delivery and installation? i argue with the salesguy to waive delivery and installation FOC. i paid $840 coz i bought 2 additional black chairs with the dining set.

Window Cool came to fix up the films & blinds. workers are good, friendly. the films all no problem. then the blinds: we noticed the color of the blinds are wrong! they confused between the hall and room blinds colours. oh man..... but they are most willing to re-do all the blinds without hesitations. i asked for discounts and i will accept the wrong colours, but sales guy apologises and he prefers to re-do everything for me. i suspect tat the cost prices of blinds are very cheap actually. it probably costs lower to re-do than to give me any discounts. so to all; please take note of cost prices of blinds or curtains. anyway, i'm quite happy with Window Cool despite of their boo boo. not a big thing. they will come again to fix up the blinds. i can tell one thing; fixing up the films make heaven and earth to the heat you feel at home. it really make a world of difference!!! immediately, i can feel its alot cooler with the films. So to all; dun save $$ on such things. films are really important to your home. it really cool down yr home and save you electricity bills on fans or air cons. especially if u always have sunlight on your furniture or other house items, please fix up films on yr windows. it doesnt cost much actually. its alot cheaper than doing yr curtains or blinds.

if u are just doing minor works, go look at the Town Council's list of contractors. with my knowledge, they dun over charge and their performance is monitored by town councils.

my high gloss white dining is delivered!! table + 2 benches + 2 chairs. Home2be is really not bad!!! no problem with delivery timing. no delay. they call 30 mins before coming, to remind us. good service!!! checked all items. all in perfect condition. no scratches, delivery guys are friendly. talk and joke as they fix up the items. pretty happy with this supplier!!! the items came in tightly wrapped boxes, all properly wrapped. Another good supplier i came across. so far in my reno and buying of home items, all the suppliers i know are all good!! i really must thank God for all this. Not one gave me any problem at all EXCEPT for PUB..... pui!! garment service has alot to learn from private sectors. The next supplier i'm gonna to deal with Window-Cool. they coming to fix up window films and roller blinds next week!!! Let's see how good they are then.

hacking is cheap. always remember this. if yr contractor over charge u on this, highlight this to him. let him know u did yr homework. its the new tiling of wall tiles tat are expensive, coz it needs skills and time to do wall tiles. wall tiles are harder to do than floor tiles.

i did mine for only $450 only. 5.5 feet, laminated, solid surface, suspended, wall to wall mirror, floor to ceiling mirror. BUT cannot use mine to compare. i "convince" my contractor to give me at this price by squeezing him real hard. normally, 2 or 3 feet vanity cabinet will cost about $450 to do. laminated with solid surface, suspended. without bowl. so use this to estimate yr 5 feet cost. i think the most u should pay is $800, without the basin. learn to squeeze yr contractor.

Hi all, Be aware of this. I think Beng Tuan is moving away or relocate their outlets from Genting Rd and Ubi Tech. Today i saw newspaper classified (the one listing cars sales) of a furniture company having relocation sale. i read the article in details and realised that its Beng Tuan. The advert. never state "Beng Tuan" company name, but it listed the 2 addresses that are Beng Tuan's addresses in Genting Rd and Ubi Tech. So those who are have paid deposits or thinking of buying stuff from Beng Tuan, better ask your salesman abt this. Companies can just relocate, change company name and run away with yr $$. I may be wrong in this case, but there are chances of happening.

just go for legrand. u need to know where all the brands are made from first legrand current batch is still made in france. so its authentc. and u wont go wrong with legrand.
