  1. looks ex to me....... bargain with yr contractor to give $1050 for No. 1 and 2 work For supply and lay homo tiles, it should be only about $6.50/sq ft. What is "PC Sum $3.00/sq ft"? And ask the contractor what is the max price range you can select for the tiles? For my contractor, there is NO price range..... i can choose the most expensive ones if i want........ But of course dun expect all contractors to be so nice as mine........ For laminated floor, it also shouldnt be $7.50/sq ft.... too expensive liao.......
  2. maybe i can recommend my contractor to you..... currently my home is been renovated he's good. i can tell so far and he's very efficient... wont waste time. uncle type, but he knows what the young generation wants so far he done my hacking and now started to lay floor tiles..... carpentary will be last.......
  3. dun get conned!! my contractor was also throwing lots of wood and laminated platform from my home. and he mentioned he needs to bring to a proper place to burn and he's paying about $150 per tonne Take note, its only about $150 per tonne! not $1k! obviously my contractor never ask for extra $$ from me..... its all inside his quotation. so yr bloody ID is conning you.......... since we are on this topic of IDs...... i can never understand why so many of forummers here are using IDs to do their homes? For every $20,000 quote, their pure profit margin is already $5K? for what? for their 'great' designing ideas? no offence here, but it seems most of forummers are only getting HDB flats, 75 sqm to 120 sqm..... how 'great' the IDs' ideas can be to do up pigeon holes? for small spaces, the individua flat owners should already have their designs ideas on their and they can just get a normal contractor to do. and not only this, most of the forummers got conned by paying $1000 for some 3D designs from IDs???? i'm so shocked by this!!! you dun need some silly 3D designs just to see how the designs will look like in a 75 sqm to 120 sqm?? just use some common sense and basic creativity brain juice..... you can already see how the ideas will look like........ no need to pay $1000...... i really find it very disgusting.........
  4. i'm not saying must only use 9k BTU for the hall. u can use 12k BTU for the hall. the calculation is accurate for the users to really cold using the air con. anyway, never trust salesman's words. always take with a pinch of salt. they are trying to make u spend more on the products they are selling to you. of course they will always tell you to get bigger ones...... same as u go buy a car. the car salesman will always tell you to get bigger CC coz of space lah, comfort lah, safer lah, better stable lah....... but the question is do you really need such a big car? to me, i have used only 9k BTU for hall before. and its really good enough because you only want to lower the humdity. no need to feel really cold in the hall. in fact, my Samsung non-inverter 9k BTU can cool both the hall AND the kitchen together and my PUB bill was not high. now i have moved into a bigger flat, i will be using 12k BTU unit for the hall.
  5. my contractor is charging only $15 per point, and he's providing the switches/points...... he's giving me all double points....... is this cheap? it sounds cheap to me, as i looked at all these quotes given in this thread! !
  6. dun be silly to base on the BTU calculation.... its not practical at all. for the living hall, you will only want to cool down the humidity, not to make it really cold. you only want to be comfortable in a cool and low humid where you wont sweat while you watch tv or eat dinner. in bedrooms, its different coz you are sleeping and you want to be quite cold in order to have good sleep. personally, i find the BTU calculation doesnt really apply to living halls........ just put one normal split unit (9000 to 12000 BTU) in the hall, its good enough........
