  1. mi lOr: Your house looks nifty and neat. With the 16k spent all worth it
  2. Great blog.. very clean and structured just the way I like it myself. Could you advise me more about the Legrand Mallia switches? Tks
  3. I don't quite get the part about being stuck with a pink striped laminate for the longest time. The laminate covers can be easily removed and replace with new a new skin and design so long the carcass of the built-in cabinet remains sound. More like your parents who are unwilling to get it changed?
  4. Shutiao: Your house is looking neat!
  5. Maybe Tropical just needs to ventilate on a bad day. At any rate there aren't many easy jobs out there today so let's live and let live. Willing parties willing deal.
  6. If they be pedestals which don't get in the way, why not? You may want to keep your 2nd mobile phone and stuff you don't normally use out of direct sight. Personally, I always value space-saving multi-purpose features and as much storage as possible!!
  7. Excellent 3D renditions Was wondering why the PLC lights for L-Box such as the one in this picture are not straight.. they seemed staggered in/out for better light coverage? Would the whole outlook be affected.
  8. What's a good thickness to go for Solid Surface? 2" 3" 4" ?
  9. Door-stops, non-slamming covers, nothing protuding at the kid's head level, heavy duty tiles, low-maintenance furniture, round instead of square edges and non-slip designs off my head, and a good education.. perhaps a google or two will easily reveal more
  10. Either you box-up or paint a really close colour to the tiles behind it. For box-up it is only advisable if you have both wet and dry separation in your bathroom
  11. IMHO: I thought the colour scheme for the bathrooms are ok maybe the tiles are old school? congrats on your new home.
  12. 40K is a lot of money, the cash component is probably paid for the positive amenities in the area. Are there enough positives to be worthy - only you can decide. You mentioned renovation is relatively new, but are you intending to keep them or they would not make any good anyway if you hack and re-do. 3 minutes to MRT is great. Hmm.. for the level of stay you got to honestly ask yourself if it's ok with you. As mentioned by hello88, to look at HDB past ACTUAL transactions (whose figures shown includes the COV) as a reference point for starters.
  13. Looking at Toshiba TW-105VS any comments?
  14. The uncle is friendly. Bought a small brush there before
  15. Yeah so I understand the forum is also frequented by ID/Contractor companies too.. which is why I try not to make mention of names. Anyway my point is meant for aves and only for sharing of like experience.
  16. From the description could be Shanghai Tong Lee @ Textile Centre. Was there over the weekend, seems they don't operate on Saturday/Sundays?
  17. For clear glass doors between the Kitchen and Living, it is best to put some opaque design stickers or something to avoid someone smacking into it
  18. The existing condition looks good to move-in already. Planning to do major overhaul or keep to a low budget?
  19. Aves: Yep visited both Ideal House and A&D. Same nobody bothered treatment at Ideal House (I think they have too much business on hand) and eventually got a young chap to discuss for about 30 minutes. He was suppose to get back to us with a quote but = nothing with no follow-up. A&D is a different case, we were served immediately and the service staff was knowledgeable and could understanding our theme and concepts as we explained. The quote came back within 3 days but unfortunately was a little on the high-side.
  20. Why don't you re-fax and call up to make sure they receive. Based on experience, they can approve your HLE in a very short space of time if necessary for a straightforward case.
  21. Hello Rumi. Also looking at LG GR model, but a bigger variant. Deciding between these two, hope to get some recommendations and comments here. The LG has 2 energy saving ticks while the Hitachi yields three. LG Fridge - GR-M712YLA Hitachi Fridge - R-Z692AMSX (picture shows the first model - new model is Stainless Steel colour)
