  1. Hi k&j n fellow forumers.. Wld it b cheaper to ask for stainless steel piping.. did ask a plumber who fix my tap another day that its 40% cheaper than copper, true? Any diff between copper n stainless steel. Sorry for this novice ques..

Guess that has brought alot of envious look fm most of us here is it really a must to sit ur dining table into the space of ur present study room area? Maybe u cld extend open concept kitchen floor area n "eat" into partial/half ur study rm n to hv a "broaden" hall way that view ur living cum dining. Dont forget u still plenty of space on the left of ur layout..

  9. hi TIA Warm welcome to renotalk~!. Yea u rite. Its better to hv 1 or 2 light coating of white paint over ur red one 1st which serve as a gd foundation. If u r having white strip, 2nd coating of ur white paint shld b a thick one. Otherwise, rem to paint the light colour strip color over the wall(s) 1st then use masking tape to mark the ones for the darker green.. apply darker green over marked out strip which wld b easier. its ur wall jus hv fun~!

Its indeed nice to hv something in mind which u've a chance to built it in hand with ur love ones.. 3X . Again ur concept of sub-con is something admirable and maybe if next year i'm able to find a ideal resale place for my future wife n parent i may follow suit. Which is why m lurking ard renotalk on n off for the rite ideas n rite reliable contacts.. With the gloomy clouds ahead next year, by knowing what ur contractors or wat ID's r doing.. i think we shld b able to spend sparingly.. b frugal n thrifty. Anyway, do personally felt that current trend or "ideas" by some ID's is to hv lots of carpentry works.. which somehow mark-up the overall budget or a bigger hole in ones pockets...

  16. Rising value can b a double edge sword cos u sell high, u buy high too. Not to mention, for those who bought high n hv to sell low later. I believe new HDB price has been mark way off its actual value jus like some of the current stock value. In last sat ST forum, someone actually wrote to HDB asking whether they r profiteering from all these.. wonder hv they reply.. Anyone? What's the point? A transaction done 12 months ago does not have any relevance to you buying/selling now, much less for one that is done 24 months ago. But if you really want, you can always collate the info yourself to get 12 or 24 mths, or even 36 mths! So if you start now you will get your 24 mths info in Oct 2010 lor. Ok seriously, you can always get an agent to generate the info for you; most agencies do collate such information, or they will subscribe to the appropriate database for it. True. Unless u r very interested in getting a nest in a particular blk in an area/area. It wld b best u do ur own compilation. Otherwise i find HDB following info still quite useful : o Resale Price Index o Median Resale Prices by Town and Flat Type o Median Cash-Over-Valuation by Town and Flat Type o Number of Resale Applications Registered by Flat Type o Individual Resale Transactions hope it helps~!
  17. i dread having the idea of having to pay so much yet no option to choose.. These days HDB r calling all shots so wld rather wait for everything to cool down in resale.. but still i wld hope the best for those who had contribute their $10..
  18. Gonna b careful with bank loans esp when during this period of choppy environment. Fixed interest wld b a better choice over variable. Banks loan wld not b that simple too.. We hv alot of poor man in a rich man's world...
  19. For high pricing, HDB gotta catch the last wave of ride isnt it? But i do realise some of the repurchase flats built in 70s/80s onwards r priced at a more "realistic range" unlike those i saw in the resale transactions...

  21. For employed staff, HDB primary concern on HLE is the basic pay over a year. Aint too sure if u r refering to self-employed personnel over the 2 year criteria. But i do know some loan applications r subjected on case by case basic. E.g i hv this unique pay structure due to nature of my work, where they forget to add-on my fixed allowance n insisted on intial loan sum will b based on my basic pay only. But after proving fact with my last 15 mths CPF contribution, my loan was reviewed to a higher quantum. So wat u THINK may not b what u THOUGHT also.. renotalk is one of the most friendly forum i hv come across for noobies n it will still b.. lets dun b everyones daddy but a friend.. Cheers~!
  22. Usually GDP r base on several index which includes construction.. i do agree with zirhk3355 that the public house prices slides will not appear that soon as everyone/not everyone wish. Dont forget we r having several other sectors down on their ratioon the last few quarters.So, dun think govt wld want the construction sectors to join the queue that soon. Anyway, we promised the world abt IR next year (which is still nowwhere to b seen) n also how valuable n feasible to invest on a $4000++ psf district 10 units.. Jus load ur "bullets" n prepare to fire at units of ur comfort n afforable level, which i wld jus only hope..
  23. 8400 BTO flats in 2008.. they promised it for this year so far only 5000. therefore, u may b spot on. But according to a frd who applied for last punggol sapphire that the response is not that well, 500++ queue number can still select a unit out of 300++ avail. It will b interesting to know how much they gonna price it as the mentioned punggol BTO near to punggol NEL station.
  24. If one day they gonna announce their new flat selling index, i beg it will b more than 33.6% of the resale index.. But i dun think they wld b that gullible to break their own rice bowl. So might as well publish some internationally award winning for public housing telling all.. hey singapore.. we r providing an A*FFORDABLE roof for all poor n riches... .. best in sg n jb..
