  1. I guess its a matter of give and take...certain things are beyond calculations or control like laminates suddenly out of stocks from the main supplier. But Irene did make the effort to arrange for us to choose another design and overall, the effect was pretty good. Her taste also suited what we wanted so no complains there. Glad everything turned out well. Good luck to your reno!
  2. Glad to know its just a miscomm. My experience with Irene has been positive even after handover. She's been arranging final touch ups for me and I'll be meeting the carpenter again to work on new requirements for my feature wall. Over the whole reno process, she has been very accomodating to us so I got only good comments for her. Hope everything will turn out well for you!
  3. Hi Yoko Reno is just about done...touchup is next week then handover already. Finally! Abit Sianz? Haha...you will get to know her better along the way. Irene is quite jovial really... :-) So far Irene has taken care of our project quite well. She is quite responsible in following up on our requests and giving updates on the progress of the reno.
  4. I guess I'm one of those daring ones that will be jumping in to buy this fridge even before I seen the display. Still dunno why...hahah. Guess I was convinced about the good reviews for the 402v so I'm hoping that the 403v will live up to expectations. My set will be arriving this Sat. Got a call from Panasonic thru Everjoint. Price is $950. Wish me luck!
  5. Got the call too...403V is selling at $953. Just to clarify...I understand from the sales staff at HN that price will be close to $1k cos of stainless steel (not silver) doors. Can someone verify? thanks!
  6. The thick copper tube is in the 1/2 in Thermaflex. There are 2 thiner copper tubes in one 3/8 inch insulation and another water pipe in I think Insuflex. I guess it is normal.
  7. Hi Kel I guess I have been unfair to jump at Hong Tar cos what I saw was the insuflex ones only and may have missed the thermaflex ones from the whole stack of tubings on the floor. You are right that they are using a mixture...thermaflex for the copper pipes and something else for the water pipe and those running outside are insuflex. I opened up the trunkings and saw a half inch Thermaflex tube amidst 2 smaller 3/8 inch tubes in there. Phew...and their worksmanship not bad too.
  8. I did ask before hand and I was told its Thermaflex. But when I saw the stocks arrive, I saw Insuflex instead. Anyway, got such a brand or did I get the name wrong? More importantly, is there a difference in performance? Have not got to try yet cos in the midst of installing the trunking. Did u get yours from Hong Tar too?
  9. And to add on for Fujitsu - $2450, if you change to a 12K BTU blower, it is only $100 more (at $2550). The unit is currently being installed at my place now. But then, I noted that the insulation used in Insuflux ot something like that..Class 0 or not, I'm not too sure....is it not the same as Thermaflex? The rubber like tubing looks like 1/2 inch thick... Please advice. thanks...
  10. Yeah, know what you mean. We also went thru at least 5 ID and 2 contractors before settling on IntraDesign. Some ID did not even come back to us with their quotes hence we dropped them straight. Also we reckon that we are paying for "assurance" that things will turn out well based on the positive reviews here. I also interviewed a customer I met at their office just to sound out her experience. She gave good feedback and the customer recommended IntraDesign too. In fact, this customer is coming back for her 2nd house reno. So this means IntraDesign did a good job first time round. Overall, it was their design was what won us over even though their quote was highest. They gave us what the others could not have come up with. Most importantly, we got good vibes from Dave and Irene. That's the reasons why we made the decision to engage them. Now its up to Irene and her color/design sense and her management skills liao! I will share pics in my blog when reno kick starts. PS: She is also a Man U fan haha. Though we not staying in JW but I'm hoping she will be generous in giving us what we wanted for our kitchen based on "kam cheng" and good faith/karma/fate in handling our project! *hint hint* *wink wink* :-)
  11. Hi Meiling I'm also starting my reno and my ID is Irene. So far we are in our 1st orientation visit and we will be seeing the electrician, aircon and carpentry guys next week. Feedback on Irene still good impression. She is quite reponsive though perhaps ideas not as creative as Dave. Our design idea was by Dave but drawings and project will be managed by Irene. Will be starting a blog soon. If Irene turns out to be as what was recommended by some here, I will definitely sing her praises. Haha...wish us luck!
  12. Thanks for the tip...the guy said that the Straaten hob has something like 1000 cubic meters/hr suction power. Just dunno how true cos there is just no specs that I can find on the net....geez.
  13. Was searching around for a decent hob&hood and the guys at Hoe Kee (IMM) introduced Straaten. However, I can't seem to find any of its products online or know of anyone here using this brand. Most reviews are on Ballari, Fujioh, Rinnai, etc... Tempted to get the Straaten hood as it actually looks quite good. Blackglass with touchscreen which matches the glass hob from Fujioh that we wanted. Price also lower than most of the hobs at Hoe Kee (less than $400). Is this any good? Thats our main concern.... Please help.
  14. Looks like I'll be joining the club... Hopefully my reno experience will be smooth sailing.
  15. Hi guys Just to share my humble newbie experience. Does Intradesign really offer drawings FOC? Cos I was asked to put down a $500 'refundable' deposit first before they start drawing. Maybe new business policy Appreciate your advice. ;-)
