  1. wah... so envious of ur lucky buy ... hehe... i think ur flat is just opp my mum house. My mum hse is 700series.
  2. hi Jessie, u are so lucky. how u find such a good lobang? Through property agent or newspaper? is it a recent transaction?
  3. Do you feel comfortable forking out 23K cash. Must also bear in mind of reno. If reno needs abt 10K for touch up and changing toiletries, then i think its worth buying. If you need to fork out alot of $$ for reno to hack this hack that then maybe must reconsider. just my opinion. Btw, is 420K too much for first timers to afford?
  4. Hi all, thanx for the replies. Yarlow, COV seems to apply for low floor units. There was one at Bkt Panjang selling for COV for 6K, 5rm valued at 299K(btw, its high floor). But the prob is there isnt any bus stops, far from LRT, no coffeeshops and the surrounding is very quiet. But Bukit Batok COV still seems to be on high side. We are looking for 5rms there. And Kira is right. $0 COV is for those flats which are more than half million. How to afford for first timers like us. Might as well top up a bit more to buy condo. Just to rant in forum cos house hunting is so tough.
  5. Need some professional advice here. Saw an article saying that COV will be falling but is that true? After failing in HDB balloting, we might have to look for resale as the next balloting is in Oct and its too long for us to wait. We are searching for flats in Bukit Batok but the COV is way too much for first timers to afford eg 50K. Just wondering if there are flats to be sold with just COV 5K or its jus our wishful thinking? If COV is only 5K, we really dont mind that the flat is in rundown condition. Cos if we add in agent commission, it will come up to about 10K if we buy resale.
  6. hi apple, i think you are very good in sourcing... hee... have been lurking around and you are very good with associating designs. hee..
  7. hello, the condition seems to be quite good leh.. like the japanese style sliding door. care to share how much u paid for? the valuation and COV as we are also interested in resale flats at bkt batok... can act as a rough gauge.. hehe... If its inconvenient, can PM me... thanx so much...
  8. Has anyone tried to DIY their own wedding shoes. Eg. Buy a plain shoes then glued the diamante onto the straps. Dont know if it will be cheaper. Cos shoes with diamante are very exp, all selling ard 60-120. As I am used to wearing flats, dont know how to wear heels. Thats why im not willing to spent too much on shoes cos it like wearing 1-2times only.
  9. For indoor photoshoot, you use your actual gowns. But for outdoor shoot, they are afraid you will dirty the gown so you will have to choose OTR rather than your actual day.
  10. icestorm, u can try queenstown on 2nd floor. The 1st floor is selling sports gear and the 2nd floor sells lots of men leather shoes and the prices are not exp. ard 50. But there are some shops who sell very nice shoes and comes with dust bag as well and pricing is reasonable.
  11. Hi raayn, you can defer to submit your ROM cert by writing in. You may also show them that you intend to ROM at a later date by attaching the receipts that you signed up with hotel if you intend to solemnized outside Registry of Marriage.

My coordinator is Jimmy. cos my hubby is the one who called to fix the appt to view the gowns, so he answered the call and attend to us. HE is very girly lor... but quite nice to negotiate freebies with him. hehe. Ytd we went for gown fitting and he ask a lady to help me(zip up the gowns) and he helped my hubby on his jackets. And he touched my hubby waist and my hubby was so scared he will touch other parts....

icestorm when are you going for fitting? Do they have lots of gowns to choose from?I haven't really see their gown selection yet. Cos the coordinator was saying if I can choose OTR, i can get $150 rebate for not doing MTM. But my HTB says for $150, might as well MTM.

I signed up with WhiteLink in Feb08. Today Im going for the fitting for ROM dresses. Will feedback how the svc/gowns are. My pkg includes quite a number of things for ROM after we requested and the coordinator was not hard selling at all. He was quite patient and explain alot of hidden costs we might encounter with other bridal studios. Teach us how BS can earn $$ from us through other methods so dont be taken in by the cheap pkg first. And we also bargain upfront how much he will charge us per pose if we are to top up for additional photos. See what they can offer and best thing is everything in black and white. Initially he wrote down everything in a rough piece of paper and after we confirm everything, he transfer all details to the proper invoice and kept the rough paper in our personal file so that both of the BS and us dont have any disputes if we are to bargain in future. Maybe got pros and cons la, they also wanna safeguard their interests if not we will start to say "How come initial discussion got this now dont have". hehe. sorry for the lengthy post but juz to share.
  15. mimisan, im looking at 600 and 700 series, which is nearer to my mum place. 800 series very near to central, tats why it exceed 500K. but hor, 600 and 700 series also exceed 500k so wonder how much did you guys paid for?
  16. hi Jessie, read that you bought your EM from Hougang. Is it bought recently? Mind telling me how much you paid for and how much COV you paid? We are interested to get a EM in hougang but dont know why most units are over 500K which is very exp. if its inconvenient to reply here, please pm me. Thanks in advance.
  17. hm... wonder why nowadays owners are so blinded by high COV without looking at the condition of their own flat. I was looking at an exec in Hougang, high floor(#16) and relatively new flat(8yrs). The owner actually ask for 90K COV. The agent still say can negotiate till 60K but i think i need to spent ard 60K on reno. They dont have built in wardrobe, no built in tv console, run down kitchen and worse still no aircon. And the agent still say that lots of couple are enquiring and ask us to act first before they put downpayment. Well, I told the agent that the price is already a turnoff before we can act further. If the flat can sell at 90K COV, i think the agent must be some super pro conman.
  18. how many times did u all try balloting? this is my 2nd time... my 1st time and 2nd time both got 3thousand plus digits.... if we still cannot get a decent q no, might have to look into resale.. but resale COV are so horrible... no $$ to pay those COVs... haiz..
  19. You are so lucky man... I balloted for Queenstown and my queue no is 35XX. Only 3digit flats(284 units avail.) and I got a 4digit queue no. So scary.. hehe... I think with your queue no, should be able to select a flat of your choice ba... Good luck to you! And good luck to me for the next balloting.. hehe...
  20. Hi wynx, is your flat 4rm or 5rm? looks so spacious... and very nice selection of colours for the paintwork ...
  21. Yesterday Straits Time has a sub section on IT Show featuring the best buys of the show with LCD/Plasma tvs, cameras, LCD monitors and others. So far can rmbr this much... But mainly was advertising the LCD/Plasmas.
  22. if we go into BS, will they give us brochure or handout of the pricelist or we can take a notebook to jot down all prices. I find it difficult to compare from what Shop A offers and Shop B offers cos the packages varies on how many photos we will get and the size of the photo. Recently I went to IMM bridal stores, we asked for the printed copy of the pricing and the lady say cannot give us. Only give us a namecard.
  23. Hi all, pretty new to this forum... this is my first post hehe... Does anyone has any experience holding their solemnization at M Hotel? Any views/opinions/free perks? Please share. Thanks.. SO and me intend to hold our solemnization there but not much perks from the catering manager and the package is very standard. Not much different from most hotels. So wondering what can we ask for additional perks? Thanks in advance for all replies..
