    犯太岁

in chinese metaphysics, we always say 三元 - i.e. 天, 地, 人 or Heaven, Earth, Human. The ideal or perfect situation is when all 3 conditions are at their best. But the premise of Yin/Yang will never allow such perfection at least not for eternity. the chinese civilisation development has various studies such as Yi Jing, Dao philosophy, Chinese Metaphysics, Chinese Medicine etc developed based on this fundamental principle. Heaven aspects is the quality and capacity at birth and we use BaZi/Zi Wei to determine these. There is a limit on both upside and downside cos otherwise ppl born same day & hour will all have same fate. What determine the difference is from Earth and Human aspects. Earth, we know is about Fengshui while Human is about action. As Human, we need to use our actions and intelligence to overcome difficulties. If your faith is Taoism, yes, please go ahead to pray to 太歲. Otherwise, it is senseless to make ppl pray to the Tai Sui just for the years they 犯太歲....this, we know many ppl are making those trips in order to give themselves a peace of mind. this is typically 臨時抱佛腳. in cases of 犯太歲, we need to know which pillar of a BaZi is offending the Jupiter or the Tai Sui of the year and HOW. the pillar affected tells you from which direction and the manner it affects is from the interaction relation with the Tai Sui. i.e. ppl with 甲午pillar in the chart are the worst hit, esp. in Day Pillar. While, 壬午pillar in chart is of second degree. There are of cos pillars which have penalty relation to Tai Sui but they are of lesser degrees, which details are not within scope of this forum. in BaZi, Tai Sui is always the Ruler of the year. i.e. No other star is mightier than Tai Sui so, ideally, we do not like to 'offend' it. IF we do, as Human, we have the option of using our actions and will to overcome difficulties. E.g. dun make trips during the months a proficient BaZi practitioner advise you not to travel, do not make new investments, do not take major decisions such as marriage, career change etc etc. Lie low and very soon 12 months will be over. i hope this helps to differentiate Chinese Metaphysic from customs/Faith. cheers!
  2. keropok, a red sofa is only a red sofa. most imptly, does it look good and function well? whoever who told you this is talking crap Fengshui. 5 elements in Fengshui is NOT use in authentic Fengshui as follows: 1. Colours Use whatever colour you fancy. Colour is a derivation of a derivation of a derivation of the Stars/Planets in our Universal. So distance....thus only a few % of potency. Thus, if you like a colour and want to wear it or use it for yr deco, go ahead! 2. Ornaments IF crystal, windchimes, Pi Yao or Pi Xiu, Dragon, etc etc can improve your Fengshui, I wld have spend all my money and stuff my house with it long time ago and drop my years of research in Fengshui. 3. Direction is less important than LOCATION If I face North all the time I am in my best Qi facing then I shld walk facing North all the time - regardless if I am walking in reversed manner? 4. A plant is a plant.... Leave the poor plant alone....like that all nursery will have best Fengshui... 5. Fengshui is about locating best Qi, receiving as much as possible such good Qi and USING the Good Qi by locating oneself in those sectors most of the time. How to do it is yr FSM's responsibility. Dun worry abt a sofa.... cheers!
  3. MaCe, you hit the bull-eye! I cannot count beyond 5 fingers amongst many English authors of FS books who are better than elementary. A lot of 'Zen' talk and no meat in these books. A simple rule of thumb - ARE they highly proficient in Chinese? Sorry, I am NOT trying to promote any superiority in the language or any FSM. Fact remains many advance text are still in ancient Chinese. Without researching widely and a teacher's guidance (both translation and in CONTEXT), newbies cannot be gasp the subject at all. Also, 99% of the courses in mkt only touch the brim of FS. Vincent Koh is not one of the minority. I only see self-invented symbols that has no correlation to BaZi and Fengshui. cheers! Btw, Xuan Kong (including Flying Stars) for proficient FSM is more about predictions and to meet the current market demand..... cos too many lay ppl only know Flying Star. So even if you get a Flying Star chart from yr FSM....it does not mean he/she uses it to activate for you. Only those 'yellow-belt' FSM use Flying Stars.....cos they ONLY know Flying Stars.... thus sometimes work....most time dun work. You need advance detailed formulaes and landform applications to maximise the stars.
  4. Sori, MaCe - these authors are very 'commercialised.' Try this classics from WanLi at Beach Road tel: 6298 5739 陽宅三要 there are quite a few versions around - some come with annotations but it is a good read and applicable to modern text. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am new to this forum. Chance upon it and thru Google's Fengshui weekly alert. Am from Singapore and recently renovated my house. Been studying and researching Fengshui last 15 years. cheers,
