  1. Sometimes, the man is not the party to be blamed. One of my closed friend, her bf has married to another woman for many yrs. He was leading a happy life until one day his wife told him she married him just to get S'pore PR only. She does not love him. His heart broke. Few yrs later, he met my closed friend, they kind of fell for each other and started the relationship. He was very honest by telling my friend that he has already married. So, who do you pity, the wife, the man or my friend?
  2. No pic to see leh Pic pic pic ...... Heehee, will come back tomorrow for pics
  3. Congratulations First to spam chop Got pics to see or not
  4. Upgrade to a degree is good as uni graduates are so common that if you stand at a busy street and throw a stone, will definitely hit a grad But one thing to consider, is this degree going to add value to your CV? If you are of technical background, hands-on experience + knowledge could be more than enough. My team leader is just a dip holder, but with > 10 yrs on-the-job experience, getting a degree does not add much $$ value to his pay. Change job just for pay increment will only make you financially better, it might not make you more happy/satisfied. Job prospect, career enhancement are worth to consider too. High salary does not come easy, you have to pay back with your time and hardship. One of my friend is working in a bank, pay is pretty good. One of his subordinate resigned recently. Her reason was she wants to balance her married life and work life. She doesn't want to work till 8/9pm everyday in the office, then reach home with a tired brain & body. She rather gets a lower-paid job but can leave office early. I believe you are a guy, but think of your wife, are you going to work till 9pm everyday and leave your wife at home alone? Money is never enough but you have to learn to live your life with what you earn. If you still want to change your job, either change now, get settle down with it, then take a loan for your degree, or upon completion of your degree. Because a new job env = unknown env, you will never know if that will work out. At least you won't stuck in a loan but jobless.
  5. It is a water tap that connects directly to your heater. When I was in the shop that sells bathroom accessories, I just mentioned "stop cord" and the sale girl knew what I wanted. Yes, not sure about newer flats, but all old flats have this water pressure issue cos higher units are closer to the water tank at roof top. Don't know what double-flow is, can't answer your qtn Pressure problem is HDB problem. Sometimes, it is not the water pipe that is causing the problem, it is the shower head that connect to your water outlet. Their pipe might be too small or too thick that slow down the water flow. One of my tap in the bathroom was flowing alright until I put in a PUB water saving rubber ring (forgot its name, got it free from PUB), the water flow immediately slowed down. In the end, I removed the rubber ring. Also, the water how the water pipe runs in your flat can make a difference. It should be closed to the same level as your water tap.
  6. Both of them won't or can't help you. You just have to live with it. One way is to buy a "stop cord", this should be able to help a bit. I learned this from my contractor who did the reno work for my house. I am living in the 10th floor.
  7. You are most welcome If you are more concerned about sharp objects for laminate flooring, can consider Kronotex. The demo they did in the expo was very impressive, they knocked/scratched/hammered on their floor board but left no markings/scratches. From what I know, as long as you are not dropping a sharp heavy object on the floor at a 90 degrees angle, it should be ok. Even a piece of stone or tile will chip if you drop heavy object on them, laminate flooring is just wood leh
  8. This quote is pretty reasonable leh, even acid wash is FOC.
  9. I have terrazzo in my living room, laminate flooring in my 2 bedrooms, homo tiles in my kitchen For easy sweeping/cleaning, terrazzo/marble/granite are the best, no grout lines. But they are natural stones and do absorb water, got to be very careful with acid, will stain the floor if left overnight. Laminate flooring is not as cold as natural stones. Cleaning wise, the workers who installed the floor told me to use plain water to mop it will do. For daily maintenance, just need to avoid water and sharp objects. Water will make the floor warp and sharp objects will scratch the floor. Homo/ceramic tiles have the biggest selections in the market. Plenty of designs, patterns and prices to choose from. Cleaning is easy but need to brush the grout lines occasionally.
  10. apple jie jie must be very busy with work, you used to be the first to spam chop leh Ya lor, I also like you, rushed to my flat to open the doors upon getting the keys. Luckily I flew very fast, cos Patrick arrived at my door step 1 min after me Is 1st May a good day to open door? Dracula, have you prepared the pineapple, rice and other barang barang to open the door?
  11. Agree with mel. When he was in my house, his phone kept ringing too. When both his hands were busy doing the work, yes he is the boss but still puts his hands to do the dirty work, he could not answer the calls. When I was in the mid of discussion with him, he also won't answer calls cos not polite mah. For urgent msg, don't sms him. He ever told me when he was real busy, he won't read sms. So if you need a response and you really can't reach him on his mobile, call Mrs Quek to pass a message and tell her it is urgent. She is a very nice lady
  12. Also curious to know who passed the test and became your confirmed ID Black listed names cannot tell, good ones can share share mah
  13. Yes, also consider normal Cos to me, not biased but Msia made can never beat Europe made. If you look at Kronotex higher range series, those 12mm ones, you can see that the texture, feeling and design really beat those 8mm ones. Well, some might say that for home use, no point to go for 12mm. My bf was very keen at Kronotex but I didn't want to spend too much on laminate flooring as I was not sure if that was what I want. In the end, I turned to Supreme for their cheapest offer.
  14. Hi Dracula, Congras Must be very excited and looked forward to the door opening rite So you managed to get a good price from Supreme? Must post more pics on your reno progress leh
  15. Yes, very hot in the afternoon especially during mid of the year. What is the colour of the outside wall facing the west? Dark colour will absorb more heat. Are you high floor or low floor? High floor might be more windy but also depends. Any objects like another block or tall trees in front to help to block the heat? If no, then prepare to have your aircon/fan on.
  16. Yeah, very true, if an agent acts on behalf of both seller and buyer, how would he act for the interest of both ? The agent for the resale flat I bought told me he had several offers all willing to pay higher COV than me, but if I could give him extra commission fee, he would reject those offers and get the owner to take my offer. He was supposed to act on seller and achieved as much as possible biggest returns for selling the flat, yet he just wanted to get higher commission and ignored seller's interest. What a bad apple Really need to revise this so-called mutual agreement that buyers need to pay agent fee.
  17. Cannot be 100% lah, how to breathe like that? But Patrick told me raw material cost has increased 20% since last year My kitchen sink is using concrete support like the picture on top
  18. Can't you move in without the sofa I moved into my house few weeks ago with the wardrobe and bed only. No sofa no dinning set no bookshelf no TV console no shoe rack...
  19. I thought by applying the 3M s/s cleaner onto kitchen sink is not going to do any good cos it will cover the sink with a thin layer of oil-like protection. When one does washing in the sink, all the dirts will stick onto the sink. In the end, one still need to wash away the protection layer ??? Correct me if I am wrong
  20. My friend renovated his townhouse 1.5 yrs ago. When I was renovating my HDB flat, he kept complaining that what his ID quoted him was more than what I got from Ho Bee. To shut his mouth, I told him this, "since you are living in a private property, if that ID doesn't treat you as big water-fish and chop hard hard, then he is real stupid !" Just kidding, don't flame me hah Maybe your ID is using better quality or more expensive tiles to do the work for you?
  21. Can apply this 3M s/s cleaner onto kitchen sink or not?
  22. Hi, does this shop in Suntec sell desk clock too? I am looking for not branded but ok quality clocks for my house. Was looking at Citizen in TPY central, design so so only. Those unknown China-made clocks don't know how long they can last I don't want to hang wall clock in case I change my mind and want to shift the clock Thanks
