Based on my research on ceiling fan, KDK is one of the best. But too bad it has limited choices for HDB and design too plain. Other 2 brands recommended by most people are Fanco and Crestar.

Love you so much, apple jie jie, you really spoke out the words that I wanted to say in my heart I didn't want to tell my side of the story initially cos everyone here seems to talk great abt Ah Keong. I tot I was just being too fussy Yes, Ah Keong came to my house to take measurements and did drawings. His drawing skill is great. But my cabinet was not done by him. It was done by his workers. When 2 of them came to my place to fix the handlers, I asked several qtns. From their response, I can easily tell that they don't seem to bother or care very much abt the quality of their work. And yes, no big mistakes, just small little things that can tell how serious you are when you do your work, ie. gaps between drawers not standardise, top and bottom drawers not align, left and right drawers also not in line, drill a hole at the wrong spot but don't want to throw it away yet don't bother to cover the hole with something etc. If anyone of you saw my comments on Ho Bee, I ever wrote that my bf complaint abt the dish tray door and the carpenters gave me a replacement. They changed the door twice and yet they didn't seem to get the measurement correct. The first replacement door was totally out of alignment and couldn't fit in. The 2nd replacement door was still out though could fit in. My bf wanted them to change the 3rd time but I stopped him. I was just tired abt all this and didn't want to pursue further. I cannot understand, they took back the original glass door, why couldn't they follow the exact measurement and give me another perfectly-fit door? Before I gotten my kitchen cabinet up, after reading so many comments abt Ho Bee, I told my bf how great Ah Keong's skill was. When my cabinet was up, he kept asking me, this is what you said very good ah? Ah Keong never checks his worker's work meh? I don't know what to say, I just replied him, maybe Ah Keong is good lah, but his workers not so good lor I don't expect them to treat my cabinet as a piece of artwork, but at least, one must like and satisfy with the product before it is delivered to the client. Sorry for the long-winded story Hi godrealm, contact person for Ho Bee are Patrick (96792934), his wife Mrs Quek (67885841), email (queksurf@pacific.net.sg). Just a sticky note, Patrick is a busy man, if you can't reach him, call his wife. -
Wah, bosch got sale? Must chiong liao I used to have a top load at my parent's house, changed to front load at my own house now. Initially was lured by the water saving purpose. After seeing how the 2 machines function, it is true that front load can save more water, but it takes longer time to complete the wash. Which means more electricity used. When I used express mode, top load can finish within 40 mins whilst front load needs to use 1 hour to do the work. Maybe other brands offer faster completion option You have to gauge yourself to go for front load or top load. Can get a stool to sit on it when your wife is pregnant

Met Patrick in TPY on my way home on Friday evening. Asked him about Ah Keong's leaving, he didn't seem to want to talk abt it and changed to another subject by saying he needed to park his car before he could continue to talk further. Well, feel sad for Patrick as he is a really nice guy. Hope he can find another good carpenter after Ah Keong leaves Ho Bee. -
My bf loves to go there jalan jalan too. I also don't understand why Everytime I say we need this or that for the house, he will say "let's go to IKEA"
-
I reckon their kitchen cabinet is also using laminate trimming, just like what other carpenters do to our kitchen, except theirs are ready-made in factory before selling to you. If you want to DIY, prepare to sweat loh I bought 2 huge bookshelves from IKEA and my bf took several nites and burned his weekends just to assemble them. If you are looking for durability, expect to pay more for better wood quality. At least get pine wood, not those plywood and chipboard. IKEA sells solid wood furniture too, but more expensive lah

It really depends if you want to change it or not I changed mine when I bought my resale flat 2 mths ago, though the toilet bowl had been upgraded and changed 5 yrs ago during upgrade. No, you do not need to hack the toilet tiles around the bowl. The plumber knows how to do it. Mine toilet floor was still swee swee before and after changing the toilet bowl

Do you mean the white colour flooring in the pic? Sorry it looks like tiles to me Not sure abt parquet but laminate flooring is chemical treated wood, no ants or cute cute worm can live in the wood.

Comission To Agent
yokine9a replied to coffee - kohi's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
Not 1% of the COV, is 1% of the total buy price. You need not have to pay this 1%. Try to negotiate your deal with the seller directly. -
You mean the ceiling fan will make your living room looks cheapo? I have seen pics of expensive n nice looking, simple n classic looking ceiling fans. They don't always make your interior design looks cheapo. Maybe you should challenge your ID to design your living room in such a way that a ceiling fan will add extra favour to the theme Anyway, from what I know, KDK is a reliable brand. But they have limited choice for low ceiling fans. Also, their fans don't have light kit. And yes, Jalan Besar is a good place to shop for ceiling fans. Plan to go there too if I still want to have ceiling fans for my bedrooms.

Either your ID is trying to make big $$ from you or he doesn’t know the market price of a switch and hence, his supplier is chopping him. Buy a switch at $2.20 and sell at $38 You should check his trustworthiness. You need not have to tell him the truth that you have checked out the price of Legrand switches from Choo Chiang, just tell him your friend ordered his lighting swiches from Choo Chiang at $2.20 each. See what his response is. If he still insists that $38 is the price his supplier quotes him, then tell him you have cheaper lobang and ask if you can buy the switches yourself and pass to him to install. I don’t mind to pay more for quality workmanship, but I hate to get chop for overcharged stuff

Spam chop chop Yeah, MBR very big leh...Make so many of us red eyes Layout of the unit looks good...What is the location of your flat?

I am also thinking of getting ceiling fans for my house, but was told that ceiling fan is bad in FS for bedroom. So, kind of hesitating now. Are you getting ceiling fans for your whole house?
-
If you have the budget, go for Simmons. I am using MaxCoil myself, equally good

1. Wait for 14 days. This is the cool down period. In case you found somewhere better and wanted to change your mind. Afterthat, sign the OTP doc with seller. Apply for your bank loan. A lawyer will be assigned to you automatically by the bank. 2. After the 1st appt, seller should move out latest 6 weeks' time. Can be earlier or later, must discuss during the 1st appt with HDB officer around. Handing over of keys will be during the 2nd appt. 3. Very hard to appeal, can forget abt it. Unless you can prove to MBT that you really need the subsidy, cannot afford a flat and got to sleep on the street without it.

Where To Look And Get Hdb Main Door Lockset Plsss...
yokine9a replied to wiredchaos's topic in Home Furnishings
Yes yes yes... TPY kids Oh really, blk 25 is so young, only 25+ yrs? Hehehe, wrong guess I am staying at lor 1 blk 169... Yes, they only sell you the lockset... No, I did not get any locksmith. My contractor, Ho Bee actually agreed to fix the lockset for me FOC. However, my bf didn't want to wait for him to come the next day and spent 2 hrs just to fix the locksets for my main door and metal door The new lockset comes with how-to diagram, not that difficult to fix up if you want to DIY... I suggest you take down your lockset and bring it with you to the shop. Just to make sure you get the right one... -
