Wah, since when Spreme has AC4 ah...so cheap...during my time, they only have AC3 (made in China) & AC5 (made in Msia). Not always true that ID will get a better rate...he might also mark up to make some $$... one of my friend asked his contractor for a quote on Supreme & was given a higher price…in the end he went to Supreme & gotten a lower quote.

I feel that you should compare the quote from Vohringer with Kronotex, & not Supreme. Bcos these 2 brands are from Europe with diff wood quality & technology, whilst Supreme is from Msia. When I asked Kronotex in Feb, they quoted me $4.80psf, which is abt the same as your $4.72psf from Vohringer.

It reminds me of an incident I encountered sometime ago. If I were you, I would stick to the old valuation report. Since both parties have agreed to fix the sale price at $382K, why need a new val report? To me, the val report is only useful when applying for loan. If you have gotten your loan approved, can do without it.

Coloured cement on grouting seems to be a good idea. I wonder would ID/contractor charge more for this or not? Imagine a wall of plain white tiles with black grouting, very nice.

If it was just a few days & the grout lines turned brown, then it is your contractor's fault. Maybe something to do with the chemical reaction of the cement powders he used? A lousy brand cement? If he is an experienced contractor, he should have encountered such issue previously. Hold on to the payment & tell him to find a solution for you.
