  1. Hihi How much did you pay for your dinning lights and where did you buy it from?
  2. Plumbing works is included in my reno le. Ya, I think if he does a good job then not too bad. So rite now, all I can do is to save on my lightings loh. Need to source for cheaper source.
  3. I was also shocked when the electrial wiring works were done...but my ID previously said that ours will only come up to $2-$3K so I didn't really make a big ho ha. So when the day arrived (to see the quotation), he gave us a shock. Was $5K loh...then alot of lighting points I cancelled and managed to reduce to roughly $4K loh. Mine is a 5-room executive. So proabably ex. He done up the works le...so how could i possibly say I don't want? If I don't want, he might charge us for un-doing....
  4. Ex hor...ok here's my breakdown: Living/Dining New Lighting point: 13x$25 = $325 Looping for lighting point: 9x$18 = $162 2/way light switch control/concealed: 1x$40 = $40 Concealed light switch cablings: 3 Lots x $90 = $270 Relocation of lighting point = 3x$20 = $60 Relocation/concealed lighting point at ceiling = 1 Lot = $90 Relocation of SCV point = 1x$75 = $75 Relocation of 13A double power point = 1x$40 = $40 New 13A double power point = 1x$60 = $60 Relocation/concealed 13A single power point = 2x$70 = $140 Relocation/concealed existing light switch cabling for balcony = 1 Lot = $70 Kitchen New lighting point = 3x$25 = $75 New 13A single power point – concealed = 1x$85 = $85 New induction hob point c/w DP switch – concealed = 1 Lot = $100 Concealed light switch cablings = 1 Lot = $90 Bedroom 1 New lighting point = 1x$25 = $25 Concealed light switch cablings = 2 Lots x $90 = $180 Relocation/concealed of SCV point = 1x$95 = $95 Relocation/concealed double 13A power point = 1x$80 = $80 New 13A double power point – concealed = $95 Bedroom 2 New lighting point = 2x$25 = $50 Relocation/concealed existing light switch cabling = 1 Lot x $70 = $70 Master bedroom/Toilet/Walk-in-wardrobe New lighting point = 9x$25 = $225 Concealed light switch cablings = 3 Lots x $90 = $270 Concealed lighting point at ceiling = 1 Lot x $80 = $80 Relocation/concealed 13A single power point = 2x$70 = $140 Relocation/concealed telephone point = 1x$70 = $70 Termination/isolation of existing flooring power point and SCV point c/w proper cable-link works = 1 Lot x $50 = $50 Installation of light fixture/bell = 51x$10 = $510 Supply dimmer c/w concealed box = 5 Lots x $60 = $300 Total is $3922, after GST is $4196.54
  5. I find him cunning too. So how could I say I don't want when he has done up the re-wiring and allocaton of power point? So was 'forced' to sign the quotation.
  6. Veri sly. So that's why now...all my lightings I'm buying myself.
  7. Sorry to ask so much questions...hopw you won't find me irritating. My ID...hmm...i don't want him to trick us...as i said, he charge me $4000 for the electrical works...already veri ex. Then the shop he brought us to are so ex...the downlights like I said, it's about $37.
  8. Hi Mace, Does the T5 comes with E-Ballast in Kelantan Road? They sell a set as in the T5 bulb and holder/cover rite? Or do I have to fix the bulb together with the holder myself?
  9. DIY? Gosh...how to? Got step-by-step guide? My electrician won't help us do one. Anyway, I was charged $4000 for my electrical works. Ex rite? I think I kena chopped. T5 is more expensive than T8 rite? So was thinking just get some T5 (for places where I will switch on more often) and some T8 (for cove lighting - anyway won't switch on that often - only for atmosphere). Qns 1: Your advice? Btw, Kelantan Road there...which shops to visit? Is there one in particular which u always visit? Will they help to assemble the T5/T8 bulbs together with the holder/cover for us? Is it cash and carry? Qns 2: CC switches cheaper or Kelantan Road? Qns 3: Does Kelantan Road sells doorbell?
  10. Ok so downlights no ballast...then how those electronic ballast must insist to have them installed inside my T5, T8, normal lamps and designer lamps?
  11. Mace, ok...so downlight no need to buy those that have ballast. But if the downlights come will ballast then how? So buy ballast for only normal, designer lamps, T5 and T8 ar? CC cheaper than Kelantan Road? Or the other way round? sorry that i asked so much cos my ID not helping me and I got no one to ask.
  12. Lilian: Mace, huh? Don't buy downlight with Ballast? Tot the posting that I read in your T-blog is must buy got ballast one? Qns 1: Answered, thanks! Qns 2: Will CC be cheaper than Kelantan Road? Qns 3: Thanks for your picture! Qns 4: Read from your earlier post that buy single downlight will do is it? Qns 5: The colour of the downlight buy warm white or matt white? Any advice? The downlights I got quoted from one of the shops in Balestier loh. Then he keep on saying that the downlight frame is aluminium (better than Metal) and the it's Atco Ballst loh...13W double...blah blah... Another light shop quoted slightly cheaper about $31 with GST but with 18W double (got Atco Ballst and aluminium too). The description from my quotation is MTZ 4504 218W W/REMOTE BALLAST 4504 PLC 2x18W FWH DL 165x165mm cutting hole: 145x145mm flat frosted glass w/GLD balla matt white So likely not getting from that shop too. Cos the measurement is biggter than the normal one. My T5 4ft is Compact Fixture 1194x27x45mm (w/prismatic diffuser), was charged $38 loh. Consider expensive ar?
  13. Sorry Mace, I'm so confused. Qns 1: Kelantan Road sells designer lamps, normal lamps (those for kitchen/toilets) and also switches rite? Qns 2: Since Kelantan Road sells everything (lightings and switches), do I still have to go to CC? Qns 3: You were saying 'stainless steel casing with glass cover - $12 or $15 only.' - is this Halogen spotlights? Qns 4: Read from your earlier post that buy single downlight will do is it? Qns 5: The colour of the downlight buy warm white or matt white? Any advice? The downlights I got quoted from one of the shops in Balestier loh. Then he keep on saying that the downlight frame is aluminium (better than Metal) and the it's Atco Ballst loh...13W double...blah blah... I have the quotation for the below: Spotlights for square is $38.60 – aluminum brushed surrounding with adjustable 360 degree Spotlights for round is $35.60 – aluminum brushed surrounding with adjustable 180 degree T5 - $28 for 3ft T5 - $38 for 4ft T8 - $17.90 for 4ft T8 - $18.80 for 3ft Expensive? Mace...tot you bought your lightings from Thomson Lighting? So to summarize: Switches buy from CC Designer Lightings buy from Kelantan Road Downlights buy from Thomson Lighting Is it?
  15. Hihi Where did you get your dining lights from?
  16. My ID also charged me $4K plus...i find it expensive but my ID veri cunning...do the re-wiring before giving us the quotation so now die die have to stick to the electrician loh.
