  1. $899 is a good buy. Now courts and HN are all eager to clear their electronics goods and they are offering veri good buy. The LG 8kg direct drive washer was $500 plus only! But I didn't buy cos still deciding. I'm like your wife loh.
  2. Monoprice do not accept International credit card. Thus how do I purchase from Monoprice and shipped to Singapore via vpost?
  3. Hihi, Did you get the cables from Monprice via Vpost? Im having problems trying to set up an account in Vpost to make the purchase. Appreciate it if you could advise how should I go about dfoing it.. Thanks
  4. Is it a direct drive one? If so, it will be silent, claimed by Lg and lota of users here. U can read all the comments.
  5. Oh...better in quality? Hmm...cos PC Show selling at $24.90 for 2 metres. Veri tempted.
  6. Any comments on Palladine HDMI Cables? Good?
  7. Same here...I tried to open the LG washer door and Bosch washer door...the feeling veri different. The grip of the LG washer door seems better than the Bosch washer.
  8. Thanks for your advice and comments. Helps alot. What I liked about that LG washer is that they have the auto weigh system. The Bosch (WAE24460AU) one which I am eyeing does not have this feature. Puts me off though. I think my washing routine will be veri similar to yours. But I am considering whether to bring my bedsheet to the laundry instead of washing myself cos I think I wouldn’t have the strength to put the bedsheet out to sun dry.
  9. Ya I guess it's all up to the user. Like I said, I have heard of the pros and cons of both an International and Asian Washers. At the end of the day, I guess it's up to the user how he/she uses the washer. I do agree that if you wanna buy a good washer...then of cos Miele but now economic crisis...so is it worth to spend 3k on a washer? Well, I definitely wouldn't do that. And if I were to buy a Bosch which is made in Thailand…I might as well buy a LG washer which is made in Korea. So if I were to choose a Bosch, why not top up a few hundred dollars to buy one which is made in Germany? But it’s a 8kg washer which consume more water and energy. So many factors to consider. Woman being woman la…so many things to consider and one thing for sure, I definitely wouldn’t want to regret buying a washer which breaks down easily. Bosch or LG…haha…
  10. I guess it's hard to please everyone. And I would also think that it's a matter of luck. Sometimes the goods that you bought from the store happen to have been kicked or dropped or any other possible scenarios you could have think of. Then sway sway the machine you bot was not in good condition so sway la. The question of whether to buy an International brands vs Asian Brands will always continue. No end one. At the end of the day, it really depends on the individual. If you care for your washer…then I would think it would last la. LG washer WD12390 (not out in the market yet) is a direct drive 7kg washer. The functions are comparable to an International one, in fact, seems veri attractive. I’m amazed by their direct drive system and there’s an auto-weighing system as well…Bosch does not have this function for the 7kg washer. But I heard stories that the LG machine takes veri long to wash cos always stop halfway to balance the load…well, I dunno how true it is. But this question of a Bosch or LG will always be in my mind until the last min of my purchase. Haha…probably that’s the nature of most women ba.
  11. Actually I have a friend who changed her Thomson washers twice within 5 years. I personally feel that it's up to the individual who uses the washer. If one keeps on overloading the washer, ultimately the washer will spoilt as well. It all depends on how you use the washer. I believe that are ppl who are happy with their LG washer as well...they are always improving and coming out with new technology, unlike International brands. That's how I feel. The Asian brands have functions like auto-off but international brands does not have this function...will keep on beeping until you switch off yourself. I agree totally with the car analogy.
  12. Hmm...ya that's the problem with Asian brands...they look veri good on the surface. The LG direct drive super attractive loh...veri quiet, alot of functions, etc. Was so tempted to get it. Cheaper than Bosch by one hundred plus only. But so far heard so many complaints about LG so not sure whether this particular LG direct drive washer ok anot. So since only cheaper than Bosch by a hundred, I've decided to try Bosch. Of cos, I'm still being paranoid cos LG direct drive washer is made in Korea and Bosch is made in Thailand. Sigh...choosing a washer is so much more difficult than choosing a fridge or a TV.
  13. Lots of ppl say Asian brands no good...international brands seems better. Actually i think it all depends on individual. Alot of LG complaints is that the water leak out, etc...the international brands are well-known for their front load washer...something which is proven to be correct. since they have long history in front load washers... One has to choose bet prices and quality. I was torn with the choices mainly becos LG is made in Korea and Bosch washers except those high-end ones are made in Thailand. I was also deciding on Brandt but the only LED display model they have is a 8kg washer, which i think it's not neccessary. So I dunno which one to choose.
  14. Hihi, Does anyone has any comments on LG washer? I was thinking of buying the new LG washer 7kg direct drive washer. But is torn between an asian brand and international brand. Brands like Bosch, Brandt...are much expensive. Not sure does anyone has good comments on LG washer. Though it's cheaper, is the quality good? How long does it last?
  15. Hmmm...that Simmons Platinum is only exclusive to Ackerman. So other stores not carrying this range. So no choice loh...I tot I could gather some info here. Anyway, thanks so much.
  16. Hi all I went to Ackerman yesterday. I had earlier made a deposit for my Simmons Beautyrest Arlington Mattress. Jim was not around so this lady introduced us to Simmons Beautyrest Platinum Mattress. Anyone has any comments on this Mattress? Was thinking whether should I change to Simmons Beautyrest Platinum Mattress instead.

  19. i bot the Mckenic Floor Wonder (as recommended by Mace) to clean my laminate. So far so good. It can be used on all floorings. So buy Floor Wonder and yet can be used on all floorings. Good leh. (like killing lots of birds in one stone). LOL Can recommend any products to clean solid surface top in Kitchen? Mace, where did u buy the putty filler from? i couldn't find it in homefix or Carrefour leh. =(
  20. Hi Mace Understand u did not use laminate flooring in your house...but was wondering whether have u use this brand - Sofix before? Was thinking of buying Sofix for laminate flooring but not sure good anot.
  21. Now this is a MUST HAVE for stainless steel lovers. Works great on ANYTHING that is made of stainless steel as well as any metal surface. Not only cleans but also leave a protective layer on the metal, enable it to withstand dirt/dust. Use this to spray on every steel you just bought and it will be easy to clean in future. This is in powder form. For lousy stainless steel that rusts, or any other metal stuffs that has ugly stains. Use this, need to scrub though, stains can be removed but surface is scratched. What I did is, scrub metal with this, then use 3M to apply a coating over it and it lasts without stains. Hi Mace Where to buy the stainless steel spray and powder? If u say that the powder form will actually cause the surface to scratch then isn't it better to use the spray only?
