I suggest you better think about it carefully before you buy this house. I think neighbours are very important, if you have this kind of neighbours how are you going to live a peaceful life in future? So what if the house is perfect? As you mentioned that you will have to pass by their house every time you go out or come back. There is not escape from them. I used to live 2 doors away from a large malay family, they also hang all their laundries and stuff outside the corridor. I can't open my front door as the stench from the clothes is terrible. They even put their mattress soiled with urine on the parapet to sun. It was **** for me at that point. Approach them nicely also didn't worked, complained to hdb also not use as each time the hdb people come, they will keep their stuff indoor but next day still hang out again. How often can the hdb come and tell them. Maybe you can look a few more units before you make up your mind as buy house is a big decision. I suggest you look, look and look first. Even the upstairs and downstair neighbours also very important.

The only reason they backed out is because of greed, as they are all staying in Australia I see no reason why should they leave the hse empty! My lawyer sent them a letter of demand last week. zirhk3355 and delirious_jeff, thanks for your help,I'm also suing the agent like what you suggest. gohkm, only the father signed that's why now so much problem. The agent din even make sure that all parties sign. He din even know the hse got 2 owners till we found out ourself. Actually I dun like clementi but have to because of my daughter's uni and my son's high sch are there. I love my current place for its rustic and kampong feel but for my children's sake no choice. Currently my old man got to send my son to clementi from sembawang every morning for sch then come back home as it is too early to go to office. Then got to pick him up after sch coz from his sch no bus to come back to my place. Take MRT also not convenient as my place very ulu, no bus from MRT station comes here. Moreover clementi flats very xpensive.

Thanks zirhk3355, that's the thing lor! the agent din check it was ourselves that found out that there were 2 owners when we did a property tax search. I'm very sure the daughter is greedy lah. She kept buying time hoping that we give in and pay her more $. Where got such things one? Very stressful leh, my son and daughter are looking forward to shift there soon so that they dun have to travel so far to get to sch everyday.

Ya lor! Greed got the better of her. How can from the day her father signed the OTP till the 1st appt date she kept quiet only until the 1st appt day then come and say she don't agree to the selling price. So you brothers here better be careful when signing any option form please make sure all owners sign and also don't trust agents.

Sorry brothers for the late reply. GoalHome, I bought 5rm clementi very old also 30+ years old 125sqm for 485k. Condition of hse very teruk, must overhaul whole hse. delirious_jeff, raincole, ssilentracer , the seller kept postponing the 1st appt date. Today agent called and said that they ask HDB for another 10 days more to consider. I think she has request for grace period from HDB more than 3 times liao leh. Coz she popped to my hse yesterday without announcement and insist that I accept a letter ( supposedly written by her lawyer, but no letterhead she think I stupid or what!) The letter state that if I din response by today to buy her unit at 530k that means I'm not keen anymore and that she can get her agent to get her a new buyer. She think the law her father set one! I din accept the letter, told her if she want then she should pass it to my lawyer. Anyway, I have let my lawyer handle liao. Today serve her letter of demand. This lesson really confirmed what many people told me, be careful when dealing with "snakes". Hope you guys get what I meant. Will keep you brothers updated of the outcome.

Goalhome is right, I think so too that they are trying to get more $. I'm using bank loan does that means the lawyer should help me with the suing if the sellers back out? The HDB officer said they bochap coz their job only process the sale not to mediate. Actually the parents are willing to proceed with the sale but the daughter kept insisting that we got a dam good deal. Well, she's an indian woman (no offence). She's so stupid right, if not good deal you think who will buy? She kept saying that she's got many siblings waiting to get they shares of the money. Don't want to argue with her as she's those very kay-kiang and dam how lian type. She even told the HDB officer that we beg her parents to sell us at a low price. She asked the HDB for extension till this friday. I didn't know that buying an HDB flat can be so stressful. I'm going to play mahjong now to de-stress. Sales also not worth buying as their goods very lousy, bought some chest of drawers,computer table and wardrobes from them. Very fast spoil, can't shift around one. Most of their things made in china. Curtains also colour run. Regret coz I bought a lot of things from them the last time I shift into my house. Never going to buy their furniture again.

Hey brothers ! I got problem liao leh. Today 1st appt but seller's daughter whom is the 2nd owner refuse to sign. She wants to up another 30k, insisting that the price was too low. How can right coz the father already signed and we have paid the option fee and deposit liao. What's your opinion guys? Can claim damages from them right? Thanks brothers!

Less than 2 wks away from the 1st appt, will update you guys again. Meantime any of you have good contractor to recommend? Need major overhaul for this totally run down 30 years old flat. Thanks.

Aiyah! did u bought it cheap? if cheap then not so bad if not just too bad! Sorry, I din mean to splash cold water, just speaking the truth. In the first place, never buy unit facing car park especially on low floors. Just think every minute got car come into the car park, day and night, 24 hours a day. At night will be worst coz the headlights might shine into your room. Anyway, you have already bought so no choice but have to learn to live with it loh. Hopefully you will get used to it as time goes by.
