  1. Hi spinball, My neighbour are very friendly people. Don't know what to say about neighbours on top or below. In terms of noisy or quiet, ok. The family on top got children so the children will run here and there and cried sometimes. My family is ok with that but the maid from my top neighbour seems to be a bit problem. She likes to hang clothes (may be mob, I'm not sure) dripping water over the hanging area. So have to be very careful when i hang clothes. Kena 2,3 times already. The family from my flat below is a very quiet people except that sometimes they cook, the smell come up to our kitchen because they don't have cookerhood, i think. Then the clothes again kena smelled by the cooking lor. Other than that, no problem.
  2. I paid $582 for it at Harvey Norman. (+ $30 transport charge + $72 additional 3 years warranty) = $684. It's warranty is covered 5 years (2 years from Toshiba & 3 years from Harvey Norman). I'm very scared after the incident that my previous washing machine (Tecno) spoil after 4 years. So, this time decided to buy warranty. (Must hope that the machine will spoil within 5 years so that can get a new one.) I don't think the machine will spoil easily but just want to have a piece of mind so buy additional warranty. I must say the machine perform very well and run very quiet because it is Direct Drive. I'm quite please with toshiba washing machine so far. Its 'bubble wash' is solid, man. My mom and wife said the clothes are cleaner (I'll never notice but they did) compare to our previous noisy Tecno brand. As for reno, it has been done completely and I'm staying already.
  3. Hi spinball, My reno already complete liao. Now happily staying.
  4. Yeah bro irvin, It's all lie down to the those technician who did the actual job on the day. Anyway, your id will hide it out for you though you have to pay extra $$$ to your id to cover this. Truly wish you everything will turn out to be fine.
  5. Hi irvin, Wow, your aircon trunking very hay-wire liao. Sorry to say/see that, man! AllBest is the lousiest (the most complained) distributor in AirCon market. I've done quite a long research on workmanship and found out that they are the most complained in this market. Their price is cheaper compared to others (Gain City, Hong Tar) but a lot of workmanship problems. Don't expect miracle with AirCon installation. You'll definitely find fault here and there. I did mine with Hong Tar. So far, OK. But there is minor things I dislike but since it is small issues I just don't bother already. I installed Daikin Inverter System 3 with $3030.
  6. Hi spinball, Sorry for late post. Yeah. Me in IT industry. My reno cost only $7k because i do reno only on the following: (1) Kitchen Cabinet (L shape, Length 9.7m) (2) Black Galaxy Grandnite Worktop (L shape, Length 9.7m) (3) Concrete slab+tiles for kitchen cabinet, fridge & washing machine (4) Windows grills for whole house (5) Mirror in one of the bath room plus two sockets for toilet spray (one in each bathroom) (6) Installation of Water Heater, Hob and Hood, Basin, shift 3 power points to accommodate the fridge, washing machine & hob As for StarHub TV point, if you never subscribe any cable tv, you still can view those normal free-to-air channels but the signal quality is very lousy (not clear especially CNA and Ch 5). I didn't apply cable tv also but need to activate the cable point to use Internet connection. After the signal has activated, all free-to-air channels are very clear and I can use my MaxOnline.
  7. Hi Amoyz, Glad to hear that you and me same blk same unit. That's why Starhub sux lor. As for my home, the technician came and connect one point (inside Electric meter room) and another point (he go down and connect somewhere again) and check the signal. then show me the siganl sensor and said ok already. If you can tell them to waive the transportation fee, it is good. For me, I can't terminate due to contract commitment. As for next appointment, you can check whether they can move forward or not?
  8. hi spinball, Me kena like you also. I called to Starhub and told them to activate my service at new block. The CSO from Starhub said OK and when I moved to new block, SCV point is not ready and I've to call them again. Then they said, the SCV point need to be activate by technician "physically" because it is new block. I complain to them if this is the case, why the CSO said they'll activate for me the other day if they know that the new block need to be activated "physically". So I am d_amn pissed off of them and complain lor. Then they act blur at last say sorry. Think "Sorry seems to be the hardest word" for Starhub staffs. Then they also said the SCV network points are not under Starhub's care yet and under supervision of third part. At the end, the Starhub Technician come down and do the connection. If SCV points are not under Starhub's care, how come Starhub technician come and do instead of the "third party". They really talk c_ock lor. Starhub also very clever. They said they activate the box for "Free of Charge" but the owner has to pay the "transportation fees" of $32.10 (I didn't remember exact amount). I ask them when will they take ownership of the blocks and activate for free, they said it could take "months to years". I don't want to argue anymore because I was d_amn pissed off with all those nonsenses so ask them to arrange a technician to come and do "physical" connection. Think you'll feel the same for their "hard selling method" to activate the point.
