  1. U should watch the HD programme from starhub,as for now , i 'm watching the Euro 2008 in HD and i can tell u that u will never go back to those normal free to air channel after watching these!! i hoped that the coming olympic also come in HD!!
  2. If u r watching free to air channel 5 and channel 8, u cannot expect the images to be as good like those display in electronics shop, SD programme come in 480i / 480p or 586i / 586p. What we always see in those LCD display is at least in 720p.for full HD tv, the best is tested with a bluray players with 1080p or u can see those starhub HD channel to see the differences.
  3. This is how they do business...price so cheap and if u ask for standard installation, then they charged u. insist on 2 times installation!! It is not wise to install aircon as dust and dirt may go into fancoil during the installation and that may shorten the lifespan of your aircon.
  4. Actually hong tar do offer CC installment, but u need to pay 5% visa fee for using credit card.
  5. I can understand your frustration on having to wait one week for their service,if they don't turn up on schedule then i will said their service is very poor. I also using mitsubishi electric and so far no problem, i live in HDB and i didn;t conceal the trucking.I always set to 25 degree and i feel that it is just nice for me to feel cool, i had tried set to 26 to 27 degree before but feel that the fancoil is actually blowing air and not cool air as if like using the fan. If your compressor get brunt out, maybe the motor or some part of compressor is faulty
  6. I got my aircon from hong tar and so far no problem and installation is neatly done.I didn't buy the aircon from allbest and best tech because i had search most of the forums and both really recieved the most complaint. No doubt they may sell cheap but their installers skills are depend on luck.
  7. Stayed tuned...i m goin to write a review abt my experience with them..
  8. I had arranged with starhub to do activition which they will charge me $ but i had check my block 988A is already cable ready from 2th May
  9. Hi...need to check whether we can allow to subscribe SCV cable tv and maxonline internet service from starhub? I was told from a starhub shop staff that our block 988A cannot recieve signal when i was goin to sign up with them at the shop, instead he ask me to call the customer service to confirm when our block is ready for cable tv and maxonline internet. I find it funny as our neighbour (from those enbloc) already watching tv programme since my living room view can see other household living room.As long the HDB tv points is able to use and recieve normal free to air channel, it mean the cable point is ready for starhub set box to connect rite? I do heard that we may need starhub to come down for activation of tv cable points with a cost, is that what i need to do? Anyway, here to ask anyone had already using maxonline and cable tv at street 93 988...or 989....how can i move in without these 2? i need t watch soccer badly and no internet to use also bored!
  10. Sale people will say whatever to make customer happy to buy from them, do u think he/she will honestly tell you to get it from elsewhere as long it is cheap and ended up earn less commission. Yes, i just bought my sony LCD tv from mustafa and they will deliever the set to me tmr, beside that they also give me the warrantly card and guide me the procedure to register my warrantly online with offical sony.Warrantly given is 3 years I know someone who work for panasonic and he also mentioned that mustafa is one of the biggest dealer for LCD tv as they carried most of the stock and brands,he also recommanded to get LCD tv set in mustafa if u want it cheaper, unless u r taking abt IT or PC show, maybe the price will be cheaper than mustafa.
  11. I did, sys 1 for the living and sys 3 for the 3 bedrooms...so my 5 room flat air con ledge is big enough for 2 outdoor compressor units, as for the 4 room flat on my area (jurong west st 93) it don;t see big enough for 2 compressor leh.
  12. How much u pay for 46 full HD sharp A83?
  13. I feel it always worth to pay more money for a good matress since 1/3 of your life is spend on sleeping.Other brands like Simmon, sealy ,serta do have more affordable range of $2000-$2500 which i feel already good enough.
  14. since it is a system 3 and a non-inverter,I think the mitsubishi model is MUX-3BD23VB / 3 X MS-B10VB® which i also bought. it come with a 3 x 9k btu configuration. The compressor has 2 motors which one will connect to a room(usually MBR) and the other motor to the remaining 2 rooms. U will never get the maximium cooling of 9k btu even it has a 9k btu unit. That why i believe the saleman juts want to give u the exact btu.As the another 2 bedrooms are connected and shared to one motors only, u will get 6000 btu only if u ON the 2 bedroom aircons at the same time. What i always heard..People always say that if u ON all the aircon units in yr home, u will feel it may take longer to cool or not cold enough.
  15. I bought most of my lights at jurong east chelsea, like those downlights and dining lights, toilet light etc.before that i also went to a lighting shop at balester as i need to use the lighting voucher. The price over there are skyhigh as compare to chelsea and i ended up buying more expensive and brighter light after being pressured... Buying lights from that lighting shop at the balester shop are troublesome for me cause they don;t display the price on the light, i feel that the sale assistants may be annoyed if i kept on asking the price...more or less they will give just the range from $xx to $xx. The experience of buying light chelsea is good, they will openly display the price of the lights and u can even bargain or ask for discount if u buy in bulk, like those downlight. Payment also easy as they accept credit card payment and they don;t charge u extra for the visa fees, not only that they will not add GST for the total price of the light u purchased, unlike the shop at balestier, still added GST after i exceed the purchase after using up the voucher.
  16. henrywoo..i bought from hong tar from jurong west..price of single spilt inverter 30k btu fujitsu is about $2.45k after upgrade to 1/2 insulation and $2.3k for mitsubishi non inverter sys 3 after upgrade to 1/2 insulation.Take note that total upgrade cost is $300..Actually i really blown out of my budget for buying aircon...feel so bad to my wife cause she also shared to pay the installment with me. If i pay cash...i can save at least $200 When i bought the air con from hong tar...i don't even have a chance to see the model there...the fujitsu single spilt 30k btu inverter is new to the market as i didn't see in the fujitsu website in Singapore .As for the mitsubishi is also the newer MUX-3B23VBR / 3 X MS-B10VBR...which look glossy in the design...i could only just imagine and pay it with my credit card
  17. Bpheng.. My lighting contractor also give me this designer switch (a flower logo also)for my lighting but how come your is a metalic silver which look so nice...mine is a plain white colour...u mean u spray the colour into the switch yrself? 18. Henrywoo...i know it already late...anyway, i got a single spilt inverter fujitsu for living and mitsubishi non inverter sys 3 for my bedroom, both using R410 and using 1/2 insulation thermaflex (class 0) for indoor and insuflex (class 1) for outdoor...i choose to pay by credit card 2 years installation and have to pay additonal 5% for the aircon purchase...also pay $150 for upgrade to 1/2 thick insulation
  19. For those who interested to get air con for living room, there is a Mitsubishi sys 4 inverter who goes for 26k-9k-9k-9k for abt $4k, if u want a higher btu, i happened to see this Gain city promotion selling this mitsubishi single spilt non-inverter 30k btu for $1599.I didn;t get my air con from gain city but from hong txx, they don;t have this mitsubishi stock and ended up getting a fujitsu instead.
  20. I also bought my air con from hong tar, still can ask for the service voucher? they just completed my first installation for my new home last week. They came to my home abt 30 minutes late...i was ok with it as my ID was also late too.Which mean they can only start after my ID give them his approval , as that was the first time buying air con so i need my ID around to advise me and the running of the trucking and piping. For the first installation, total time spend is about 6 hrs, from what i observed, they don;t rush work and they will clean up the mess before they left.Overal i'm happy with hong tar workmanship.
  21. I think this all best and best tech are actually the same lah...if u search carefully in the internet, u can see lot of comments abt them. If u want inverter aircon, the best is get the 1/2 inch insulation and use thermaflex and ArmaFlex ..i think one is for indoor and another for outdoor...actually i also not expert.i think she push for using 3/8 insulation is because people are smart that using 1/2 will have less problem in future. Every aircon come with a spec, they have to follow in order to function without any potential problem being occurs later,if need to use 16mm drain pipe, then should use all regardless it is placed horizontal or vertical .
  22. I just bought my sofa ,dining table and coffee table over there...now waiting for the delivery on next month. What made me buying furniture there is the price over there really cheaper than other brand selling furniture at the same type...maybe the quality may be differ...i'm not sure, cause i m tight at budget and have to settle for those cheaper wan. The dining table is tempered glass type where most will sell at least $500 above without chair, K & D give me $400 plus wooden chair, what i like best is the coffee table that i bought from there, look like a capital letter "C" without the 4 legs type.As for the L-shaped sofa, it like a gamble,it is not firm foam type but spring type, i find it very comfortable to sit but we will never know the quality of the sofa which the spring may poke my buttock one day. I always believe what u pay is what u get, as long they promised the delivery and don't give me the wrong or damaged furniture i will be ok, after sale service is must good lah...i can say their before sale is good, not pushy and pressure to sell type.
  23. Mitsubishi Starmex Easy Clean non invertor only do have both R410 and R22, their product website do stated the model, so it is normal for R410 model to be more expensive?
  24. Yes...like someone already mentioned abt installing 1 sys 2 unit in the living room...because of the dining hall, i need to have a higher btu unit. anyway, i already found a shop selling the single spilt 30k btu from fujitsu. The outdoor compressor unit is very big (90cm X 90cm X 35cm) big luckily i got a bigger side window in bwt the kitchen and the masterbed room window to place on the aircon ledge.
  25. i'm not expert in aircon, most of the info i got are from Singapore aircon blogspot. As for the BTU calculation, i got it from the Singapore fujitstu aircon website, i feel it is more or less quite accurate for BTU calculation. That why , u will see 9k btu, 12k btu,18k btu and 24k btu units being commonly in the market for the HDB home. If a 9k btu can be good enough for living hall, then what the need for higher 18 and 24k btu?? dunno who is silly? Get a higher btu for a living hall as being silly. or use a 9 k to 12k btu to cool this living room as being silly U all to judge. To tell u the true,u r the first person in the world to tell me 9-12k btu is cool enough for living room...maybe it will still cool but take a longer time.If 12btu can do the job of cooling the living room, then what for i posted this topic here???
