Jessie, has your water seepage problem been resolved yet? I seem to have some seepage problem in one of the rooms and have arranged for HDB and TC to come down... But since the seepage is not very obvious as ID painted over it once, I'm not sure if they will be willing to do anything about it... How can I force them to redo the waterproofing? Btw, mine is on the top flr...

Hasnt updated this page for some time... After all the hoo-ha over the colour of the Serta bedframe, we managed to find a buyer and sold it off. He even engagaed a transport company to collect it And we ordered another bedframe already Barang Barang had a 43% discount storewide over the National Day weekend for the first 43 customers... We saw this promo and knew we cant miss it... We ordered a Pusan frame yesterday... Good deal at 43% discount Think this frame is much nicer and coordinate better with our room colour... Now we're still waiting for some final touch ups before the flat is ready for hand over... Some painting and minor patching of tiling works... And we discovered something that may delay handover for a few more weeks... We first spotted some patches (quite faint but visible) on the ceiling in one of the bedrooms and my ID told me it is a possible leak from the roof (since we are at top flr). But he said he will paint over it and observe. True enough, the patches reappeared!!! I'm getting the HDB officer to come down this week and I think we have to convince them to fix the roof somehow... I'm worried they may say its not serious enough to warrant action from them as I saw from Jessie's blog how much trouble she had with HDB over this issue

I feel it doesnt match with the colours of my built in furnitures... Someone has reserved it already and will be collecting this wkend... Now we'll have to go bedframe hunting again... Perhaps we'll go for a wooden frame this time to better fit our theme...

I got my bedframe together with the matteress at Serta. Comes with the bench, 4 pillows and other freebies. Think the frame is about $500 with matteress purchase. We feel the colour doesnt fit that well with the MBR colour scheme Dunno if anyone will want the frame if I want to sell it If not then we'll think of ways to decorate the frame to match the room colours better.

Do u keep ur letter box keys separately? For me if I leave my letter box keys on the letter box then its as good as leaving all my keys there since they are all bunched together. Duro all in one key system is very useful, no more thinking about which key open which lock... Just use the same one for all

Went early to my place today to do a defects check as well as wait for the arrival of my Serta bed. Found some defects which needed rectification like poorly done paintwork, 2 scratched laminates and one tile that has a stain that cant be removed. Feedback to ID and he promised they will settle it. Took some photos of the place in the current state... Pretty much completed and now only awaiting rectification and the large mirror to be installed in the living room and we're set! Living hall view Study room yellow wall finally completed Door painted. Laminate was done by ID with leftover wardrobe laminates Kitchen with Ikea Grundtal lights finally working! Nice and cheap lights. The serta bed was delivered right on time. I was impressed by the serta delivery service - they called me three times to confirm delivery, once on monday, once yesterday and once today 30 min before they arrived. They could tell me the exact time they will be arriving and they were right on time. The bed fitted nicely in the room and we were glad there was ample walking space between the bed and the TV console. The room still look very bare Now to find nice bedsheets, curtains, side tables and table lamps for the bedroom!!

No they didnt ask. They just gave me the voucher... But its ok cos i spent it all on the same day anyway ID offered 2 solutions, one is to remove the basin and tear out the solid top for them to redo the hole. Second is to get a new tap with long snout. Judging from the complexities of the work, we took the 2nd option since he's replacing it for us FOC. He even offered to return us the existing tap if we want it.

Finally my solid top for the kitchen and the MBR toilet is up One more step closer to completion! First for the good part - we are happy with the standard of the solid tops and the colour combi looks pretty good to me... Now for some of the bad parts: 1)The MBR toilet tap is mounted a bit too far away from the basin! Although the water comes out of the tap at 45 degrees, it is still difficult to wash our hands without getting water splashed outside. ID saw the problem and volunteered to change the tap for us to one that has a longer barrel FOC. 2) The kitchen sink was undermounted. I didnt gave ID any instructions on how to mount it and he said that undermounting is nicer, which I agree. But I'm afraid of water seeping thru it so I think I will get him to silicone the area thickly since the mounting is already done. Today went to Ikea and got a refund for my mirror easily... Even though the item was opened, they gave me a voucher refund no questions asked. They didnt even checked the item to see if it was defective like i claimed After that i went to check out the rest of Ikea's mirror and true enough, all of them have the wavy distortion effect if u stand far enough Now I'm convinced I should get my ID to do it for me... Anyway ikea's return policy is 100 days.

Need to pay to change colour for room? I'm sure the ID can absorb it... I changed colours for my room and ID didnt ask for extra.

I did mine from aluminium central also. The price now is $210 incl fan and top hung window. Note the price does NOT include electrical connection of the fan, need to get a separate electrician to run a switch for u.

I am thinking of going down to Ikea to check out their display set. If it has no problems then I'll ask for an exchange, if not I will try to get a refund. Do they do refunds or do they exchnage for other Ikea items only? Think I rather pay more and get my ID to make a nice one than live with the ghostly reflections!!

Thanks for all the comments I'm sure with the right approach, you can squeeze in more things in the quotation. They actually have quite a big margin to play with... Anyway these are not the only freebies I got But I shall reveal the rest only when everything is done up... The reno is ending soon, prob next week can handover... Finally can start decorating the place and have time to do other stuff

Yup you cant see it on the pic. I couldnt capture the effect on picture but it is definitely not due to the slanted mounting. Its more like the mirror itself is not flat but a bit convex at places...

I think my WC is different from yours... Its installed and you can see the pic in my blog. Somehow it looks different... Yours look sleeker But I cant complain... Mine's free

Finally the basins, WC and other toilet stuff are installed... The electrician also came to install the dining light and change the remaining switches. Nice MBR shower area - 707 Alpine with stainless steel/glass corner racks As usual there are some hiccups here and there... Hiccup 1: The plumber cracked 2 tiles (one in each toilet) and my ID will have to get someone to change those, then get the plumber to come again to fix the pipes there Hiccup 2: We mounted the Ikea stave mirror and found that the further we stand from the mirror, the more "wavy" the reflection got. Seems like either we got a lemon or Ikea uses lousy thin mirrors that look good when u stand near, but starts to get wavy as u go further. What can I do? Bring it back to complain? Yes! The original laminate was really bad. Think when the mirror, solid top and tap are up, the whole thing should look nicer. Thanks... Finally into the last 1 or 2 weeks. Only painting, solid top and remaining electricals left before handover.

I signed 2 packages because I wanted to hack the bathrooms and kitchen tiles. It is cheaper this way than to ask the ID to quote it in as separate items. Furthermore we got a system 3 aircon thrown into the package. Yes there were many repeated items. So we highlighted these and got him to either give discount or to change for other things of similar values. So in the end it was quite worth it to take 2 packages.

Today was supposed to meet the plumber to install all my toilet stuff. Met ID at my place about 3 plus and we waited and waited for the plumber to come only for him to call us about 430 to tell us he is still stuck at another place and cant make it Now have to take leave on monday specially to oversee him install all the items correctly... Luckily I brought my camera there and still managed to capture some pics of my completed carpentry. I decided to take these pics from more unique angles this time MBR Wardrobe Bedroom doors - Saw some spare laminates the other day and got my ID to paste them on the bedroom doors. Now I dont have to go buy those designer doors The remaining area will be painted with lily white next wk. MBR toilet - Laminates changed and the doors completed. Like this look better. MBR TV Console Guestroom wardrobe - They changed the door colours to the right one Kitchen 45 degree area - The ikea lights are mounted under the top portion.
