I think it is Spectrum Red from Nippon. Can't remember.

Yes, I did 1 wall in my son's room. See my t-blog. Quite nice - can be a bit dark but did the smallest wall so not overpowering.

It's not that great lah. But better than the standard kind. I don't know the blk or unit no. The kopitiam with the fish n chips/western (the fish is v gd, the chips so-so only), and with air-con seating upstairs.

Today the first coat of paint went up! Here are the rooms: clockwise from top left: MBR, study, living, kid's There was a miscommunication and the living room was "mispainted": We originally wanted it to be like this: Then we asked the ID to change the plan to this: But in the end we now have 2 blue walls instead of 1. So, dear viewers, do tell, which of the 3 do you prefer, if any? Am considering whether to get one wall repainted. -
On the topic of food, we like the Chey Sua carrot cake. I think it's Blk 127 or something, near Lor 1. And if you travel a bit more, there's Botak Jones at 970A TP North. There's also Italian (pizza, pasta) and other stuff. I like the roti peng at the kopitiam opp our blk (nearer 79A/B).

I was wondering what the "smaller molecules" are. The brochure says "water clusters are reduced from 13 to a mere '6 molecules' ". Well that's something they didn't teach us in school science classes!

Thanks for the evidence! I think it's not just that the pipes are new, some workers must be chucking don't-know-what stuff down the sinks or toilet bowls...
-
If you get any installed, do be careful about where they are located (get expert advice?) to avoid any... shocking consequences ;-)

Hey did you all get the offer/option from AIG to extend the fire insurance to cover the belongings? And did you go for it? (Mine is $325 for 5 years, up to $330k combined coverage) I'm wondering if it's a good deal.

Thanks for the interest! Unfortunately the pictures from the previous post still reflect the state of the flat. That's because the parquet work needs time to dry out before the flooring can be finished. Just identified a possible option for bathroom mirrors at Ikea, just a plain circle edged with mosaic mirror pieces. Thought if I stuck coloured clear tape over the squares I could get fake stained glass. -
Not sure if your flat is different, but for mine the living and kitchen floors are level. And the main door and gate open & close without problem.

This is what using a storage heater is like. The water heater is quite far from the toilet, so the water already in the pipes doesn't get heated. To get the hot water, you have to let the water run till the water from the heater gets to the toilet. When you turn off the tap, the water in the pipes will start to lose heat. So you have to repeat the process. To save water, best for your hubby to take his shower right after yours.

Best to go and test. The good thing about Ikea is that they get thousands of shoppers. When you go there, you can see how the furniture will look after being used - the shoppers provide 'accelerated aging'. You can see whether the surfaces are chipped or cracked or stained, you can feel/hear if the chairs, beds or tables are shaky or creaky... And some of them really are! You can press the shelves and drawer bases to see if they are too soft... I think you can tell which items are of better quality. Oh, and of course the fibreboard shelves should not be overloaded (e.g. Billy bookcase). It doesn't matter which shop you buy from, fibreboard isn't as strong as solid wood. And solid pine is not as hard as solid teak... They all have their own price range...

Today we visited our flat and I was pleasantly surprised to see the parquet all laid. Before this, the most visible work done (beside the wiring) was the kitchen cabinet base: After that, it was our first time meeting the Blk 79 kaki on their Saturday house-hopping tour. Nice to meet tension_z, gadgetman, Liana79B and the rest of you whose nicks I didn't get to know. -
Someone said there would be many posts tonight... so I'll start. Thanks everyone who opened their doors to the house hopping party this afternoon. Good to meet all the neighbours! PS will upload photos of my flat at my t-blog if anyone's interested.

warsurfer, saw your home photos. Beautiful place! I really like the attention to details, like the two-sided clock and your dining lamp. Really lovely. -
Thanks. So far spent 230 for my living room and 140 for MBR. Was tempted to buy a $250 light for my MBR... and still am tempted... If you look at your flat's electrical circuit diagram, you can see where the doorbell button connects to. Mine goes to the kitchen. I guess the fuss-free decision will be to put it there.

Hi all. I've been shopping for my lights and I'd like to ask, how much was your most expensive piece (e.g. living room or MBR light)?

Thanks warsurfer & strychnine for the encouragement. Actually the reality will be less than the inspiration... Unfortunately I don't have the time or the budget to seek out really classy or 'shabby' furniture and decorations. But I did get these 2 lamps today: Now thinking whether I should have bought the more expensive ones instead. Hmm.... Anyway hope you guys out there like 'em! -
