I've engage them and its a very very bad experience...please look else where. Workmanship? Don't be fooled by them....I was and I've paid with my stupidity...its all temp china workers on the woodwork. They are like a middlemen with terrible coordination skills. I've talked to all the sub contractors and they are more than pissed while dealing with the family. They even go to the extend of swapping lousy hinges with good ones and claim that they are all the same.....huh? Custom furniture that have badly scratch veneers, uneven surface, multiple screw holes, crack and chip veneers, gaps and holes in joints, glue stains on veneer...for god sake them can even level the inner partition of the cabinets or at the very least make sure the cabinet doors flushes and closes properly.....

His pricing is ok but the service is very slow and I've to push him like a few dozen times to get stuff done. Those that are on a tight schedule please look else where. You also have to see which electrician you get from him because he is just a middleman and hires different electrician from time to time. He have a couple that is pretty good but always unavailable due to Eric's busy schedule and some free lance electrician that doesn't do much the whole day. Took him more about three to four months to finish up my flat. To make matter worse, now my whole telephone system isn't working do to sloppy workmanship and the singtel guys came down and did a thorough checkup, only to find out that they don't have the proper tools for the installation....and that is about 3 weeks ago...since I called up to inform Eric about the problem. Called him up again a few days ago and he don't even remember me.....talk about service backup... To sum it all up, it sucks....my situation might be a isolated incident but I'm very disappointed with his professionalism and the way he ignore the problems after getting more than 3k from me. I've tried to get a break down on individual charges from him and it seems that he don't do that and after constant reminders....I gave up.... Now, either he fix my telephone line or I'll go small claim court him....at least I can get another electrician to fix up the house rather than playing the waiting game with him...

Hey Hobbes, thanks for the reply. The main reason I decide to go with Idealhouse is after reading up your blog and found its design and workmanship to be of high quality. I also took a look at LLhome's blog and my floorplan is exactly like hers and she did everything at 40k while mine are around 52k with all the carpentry included. Decided to do up the important areas such as the toilet and kitchen first and leave the carpentry for later and was quoted $36,610, that is ZERO carpentry on the the whole house except the ones included in the packages like yourself, the 6ft waredrobe and 20ft kitchen cabinet. The only thing that is different from your quote is that I've decided to add parquet to the 3 rooms and that is like an additional $1200 only. It will be cheaper if I go to hauhauparquet and get them to floor my 3 rooms and transfer the savings to some other stuff. I already pmed you for a request and I really wanna start my reno asap because the 7 month is coming soon and don't wanna start on that month.... If this is not working out, I guess I'll just get a good contractor and finish the job at around 20+k and get a father's friend to wrap up the carpentry. And do the design myself.... The main reason I approach an id is to save time and get a relatively nice house with minimal renovation but it seems that without 50+k from idealhouse, I'm not going anywhere. Hi everyone, I've been reading up quite a few postings and threads regarding renovation and in the process, gained a lot of knowledge from this forum and its members, which is very fortunate for me because I'm going to reno my hdb apartment now.. I've decided to go with Idealhouse because of their recommendations and works found within this forum.
