Hi... Any suggestions/recommendations for hotels/restaurants to hold wedding banquets catering for around 15 tables and budget maybe around 700 to 800? As I will be holding two separate banquets at two different countries, i think it is quite difficult for me to hit min 20 tables for certain hotels... Please give me some advice!

I think champagne gold shoes can match with both maroon and white too... It will look nice! Dun worry~~

hey yangguo, thanks for your kind information... but where can i find the curtain van? any idea what is the company name for the curtain van? we were quoted quite expensive i think... but after bargaining, the person is only willing to discount till 800+ and the samples that we like already out of stock! heehee ya... except that my brown cabinets are a lighter shade of yours... chose this colour cuz our floor tiles are peachy colour... your cabinets under the hob looks quite big... issit difficult to close without the blum and no handles?

Oh i like the sliding door that divides the living room and kitchen... issit a glass door? it looks like a wooden frame with horizontal bars... but its nice! my house is too small for such a door... looking forward to your reno pics!

I think you were trying to ask about the space underneath the corner area? its not continuous... to access into the corner area, have to open the door which is under the sink and move left in... its not possible to access that area from the other door which is nearer to the hob as it is covered with the wood plank... Sorry if u dun understd my explanation... maybe rav can post a pic for u to see~

We bought the whole set together... cant rem how much we got the table alone... the dining table with the bench and three chairs add up to 1.8k+++... it was during their sale period...

maybe the photos of lights will be posted soon... heehee we bought our dining table and one bench and three chairs from Barang Barang during the sale... we love it very much, ahem, except for the price... hahaha these two days we spent our precious time in Ikea and somewat managed to spend around 5K for one master bedroom wardrobe, one common room wardrobe, our malm bed with the nice headboard, two wall cabinets, one book shelf, one table, two billy bookcases (one with glassdoor) and our lovely sofa set... wanted to get the black daybed from ikea today cuz they are having promotion... but when we went after work, the stocks are gone... wondering who got the time to go buy furniture on a monday... haiz... wat to do... might be getting a sofa bed for the third bedroom now... this saturday will be the delivery day for ikea furniture!! hurray!

Tadah~ our storage heater is nicely fixed onto the wall... its a Joven 25L heater... we tested the water after it was installed... not bad... just tt how come it is only connected to one switch in common toilet but not to the switch in master toilet as well? it means tt i have to go kitchen to turn on the storage heater before i go shower in master toilet... will be asking the shop ppl to settle it... if not, dun pay them the full sum! I like the way the trunking runs... they did a nice job inside the house... though outside, on the aircon ledge, there was a crack at the ceiling cuz of the drilling of holes i think... we did ask them to fill in the gap... but there is obviously a white patch... do we need to paint it back huh? took a snap of the stuffs being moved in by the workers on saturday... this was one of the proposed design for our kitchen... and we chose this eventually out of the rest... hopefully our kitchen turns out as nice as the picture... *time out for me to slp*

but our wall has already been done up.... hope it does not look too bad after putting in the washing machine...

Issit higher than normal? i have been to a few units in Jalan membina... the ceiling height is all the same i guess... my unit is not on top floor... its somewhere in the upper floor though...

Updates on my renovation... (i am having holiday today~ happy vernal equinox day! ) the tiles are those laminate-looking ones... the hollow parts are to be filled with small stones... the homogenous tiles in living room... though my bf wld very much prefer matt, due to overwhelming voting for glossy (which is only me n his mum), he finally give in~ haha the view from living room... not too bad~ after cement screeding done, we realised the doors are too long and need to be cut? haiz, how come they never think about this when they install the doors? anyway, managed to cut the doors for free after bargaining... the bases for fridge, kitchen cabinet and washing machine... according to my bf who has been popping by almost every lunch time, the workers in charge are only two aunties from malaysian... the lines are straight and nice... workmanship wise saturday will be going down to wait for the aircon man to come and install the trunking... really hope the trunking wld be nicely done and no sweating and other aircon problems... after that, to JALAN BESAR to look for the remaining lights~~~ the only big headache now is PAINTING?! we were asked to choose our own colours to paint the house... after much discussing, the colours are still not confirmed... how????

i am sorry to hear about this... but i also think that ur ID shld bear some responsibility for your loss of TV? how come she can say u trying to accuse her? issit possible to talk to the management in the id company to ask for some compensation? cuz if both of u working dun have time to go down, the ID shld be helping u to take care of everything? hope this can be resolved soon...

Will Jalan Besar have more varieties of light than Balestier? Second half of the defect list~ the mechanism seems to be spoilt... cannot push down to close the tap cover... bet most of us got the home shelter liddat... this is really disgusting! and if u walk into the home shelter and u look up... to test for hollow tiles, u need to use a coin (preferably 50 cents or 1 dollar) to tap on the tiles, four corners and centre... if u hear a hollow sound, means its a hollow tile... try knocking on the door frame, and u will get a hollow sound... its similar to that... anyway, we tried on all tiles in kitchen and toilets (within reachable height) and includes the floor tiles... good exercise and we spotted quite a few in master bedroom toilet! easily to spot... and they fixed it rather quickly too... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I went down to JM with my bf yesterday... most of the defects have been done... except for hollow tiles which they took off my labels but have not replaced the tiles... the doors looked more dirty than before after cement screeding... homo tiles are brought up to the house to be installed within this week... finally finalised the tiles and pebbles design for our foyer... saw the kitchen drawing and was quite pleased with the colours chosen... but cannot find nice window grilles for our house... in fact, i dun like to have window grilles... haiz, my mum insisted tt it is not safe without grilles next time... after that, went to IMM for shopping... wah, there are so many furnitures, interior designers, air con etc... we bought toshiba system 3 (inverters) at A**B**t... the lady whom my bf approached a few days ago, entertained us... felt quite comfortable with her... at least she dun gimme lotsa sales talk like their next next door neighbour... and we decided the hood & hob, turbo~ which at least is not going to burn too big a hole... by this wk, the homo tiles & aircon trunking shld be ready... at least we are seeing something done in our house... erm... i think we hit 1k cuz we bought the ceiling fan from there too... if do more false ceiling also need to buy more those square lights... initially we din wanna do false ceiling in master bedroom but end up doing... simple lights can also be nice~!

The defect list ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I dunno wat happened to my main door but its full of scratches and paint dots... therefore, its taped with lotsa masking tape for decorative purpose... haha peeling at one of the bedroom doors... issit just us or everyone is having this problem? when we tried to plug our hp charger into the socket... the pin holes are very tight but the socket itself is loose? feels as though the socket is gonna come out anytime if we pull harder... probably cant tell from the pic but the socket is slanting quite badly... from one look, u know its not straight... the distance between the covers are so close that they cannot be closed or open easily... oh no! the other half of defect list will be updated next time le... cuz of image restriction... time for bed, i shld be slping at 930! oh, is yours a resale flat? cuz u mentioned about hacking of tiles in kitchen... take your time to choose... must choose someone u feel comfortable and can trust... actually i quite like classic kitchen from katong... if you are only doing kitchen, you can ask them for a quote... they only do carpentary... so wet works have to engage contractor... cuz for me, i already signed with one ID company so chances of me doing classic kitchen is not high... but was really impressed by the person who served me... thats my personal opinion~

Hi simpleboi, did u go there on your own? bought everything there? we went there with my bf's relative... how i find it ar... dunno hoh... cuz the lights are not installed yet... i think if i nvr rem wrongly, its ard 1.5K... bought square shaped lights (those used for false ceiling), cant rem how many le... cuz they looked at the floorplan and recommended us to buy the quantity... debating fiercely about dining light and common bedroom lights cuz my bf was not very satisfied with the selection there... still thinking where to buy nice (but not ex) lights ar... our master bedroom and passageway also using the square lights... but master bedroom has four more rectangle lights which are to be fixed on the side of the false ceiling, effect's like cove light but will not store dust... hamburger light we bought for home shelter... two white round lights for toilets and two stainless steel round lights for kitchen, both designs are very simple... and the fan is also plain design, dun have patterns on the part of blades near the stem... oh ya, and the foyer light hoh, also din buy... heehee actually i dunno whether with my poor description, wld u understd wat i am saying... will take pics when the lights come... wah... 10k just for the kitchen? geez, i would love to see your kitchen pic! is your renovation completed? well, i have decided that even though my work is so busy and i have to work long hours, i shall try my best to learn how to cook nice dishes so tt i can cook on weekends... haha that's according to my mum's suggestion cuz she thinks its too ex and unhealthy to eat outside le... that would make me a semi-pro housewife...

Updates on the renovation: 1. basic renovation signed which includes flooring, painting, ceiling & kitchen... kitchen, is really a big headache... really dunno what shld i expect... why issit so ex? should i do a cheap one since i am not a professional housewife? 2. defects in the flat........should be completed at least 80%? (i haven went to new hse since the day i went to check defects) updates came from my very hardworking bf who has been going to JM almost everyday during lunch hour and after work... 3. went to P*l*ce L*g*ts with recommendation from contractor and bought 90% lights required for the house... oh my, i never knew that there are so many lights needed in one house... and its so ex!! bought a ceiling fan as well... the fan is in gunmetal colour... sounds so cool! will try to find the pic and upload if possible... heehee 4. cement man is coming to screed the bedroom floors this week and we gotta select laminates by this week as well... laminates... the lady in the shop tells me that kronotex laminates mostly are out of stock and recommended me to take up exquisite laminates (the one with a bear picture)... although heard about the good quality of kronotex, the colours dont seem to be very nice? somemore we are choosing from those square blocks of samples... how to imagine it will look nice ler? we ask the lady to bring the big planks of wood to show us instead...
