hi red crystal. if u're more concerned abt safety, my ex-colleague bought 4 her mom last time a normal gas cooker but come w special detector. if it sense that the gas is on but there is no fire, it will auto cut off the gas supply. it's $$$ but safe and hassle free. sorry u might hv 2 do more research on this cos 1 can't remember the brand as it was quite some time back.

If the previous owner had a water heater, it would be included in the valuation and should not be removed. When you fix the appointment with HDB to hand over the flat, they will list the items which you are not allowed to remove.

thnx 4 the advice, will definitely try. now also got another stress. going to hand over flat 2 hdb after cny (under sers) but now cannot find our old instant water heater! we must leave it bhind in the old flat 4 hand over as hdb include it in their evaluation so now cannot find dunno how. will post there also c if got any kind soul wanna dispose any spoilt water heater can 'donate' or sell off 2 us. otherwise buy brand new 1 jus 2 give 2 hdb 2 throw also so waste...

hi all blk79 ppl jus wanna add 2 some of the previous posts abt thefts. we went 2 check on flat jus now, found combination lock on gate changed, p/w also changed so cannot open gate. anyway called the contractor n he said he changed everything 4 us cos his workers found tt some1 at nite tried to break in so they spoil our old lock! they also scratch out a big chunk of paint from gate while tampering with the lock. but we were lucky they cldn't open it so nothing stolen, also lucky we decided not 2 keep anything there after reading forum so nothing much 2 steal except the contractor's stuff n our installed fittings... GRRRRRRR! wanna hantam all those itchy finger idiots

hi josephine 1 suggestion, i saw a type of frosted glass spray at some DIY shop in vivocity. apparently if u spray on clear glass, e effect when dry is like layer of frosted glass and they got sample 4 u 2 c also. i find it not bad n 1 can approx $10 so quite cheap if u compare. was thinking of using 4 all e windows cos don want curtains/blinds n cheaper then replacing...
