  1. hi ej, thanks for organizing the gb...the lamp is really fabulous...
  2. Yes thought of doing the same but then i will not be able to hang the clothes out to dry. My reno will only start in mid Nov.
  3. I will be at blk 772. I need to get ID fast as i shd be able to start the reno sometime in mid nov. My ID confirms my full height windows in the living room cannot be changed to other colour so no point changing for other rooms already... Love your pole system WIW. I am planning to have an open WIW (not the pole system kind) next to the toilet but friends advise against the idea as they say sure have "humidity" problem.. But i will still go ahead lah. Look forward to more pictures of your renovation. j
  4. Hi, i have the similar layout too. I love the layout except there is a bomb shelter and it makes the kitchen is a bit too narrow. I m having headache where to place my fridge. Did you place ur fridge at the yard? Can show the pic? Tx.
  5. Hi, i was using the cuizino hob, hood and oven in my previous house too. Have been using them for 2 years, so far so good. The 3-ring burner fire is really strong and good for chinese style cooking; the hood (the SS chimney - think is 900m3/hr) is good at "picking" up the grease and steam; oven (i bought the cheapest 5-prgramme one) is functional and quite easy to clean after use...but the timer knob become loose after 1 yr+ so i have to rely on a separate timer. But hor, I don't really do heavy cooking leh...mainly used the hob for boiling water and cooking vegetables & meat for my doggies daily and i will on the hood also to absorb the steam. oven wise used like 2-3 times per month. Currently i am considering their vitroceramic hob + domino gas hob for my new house...but quite ex leh and it is new so I am not sure of the quality of the black tempered glass... Cavie My reno blog
  6. hi bommarillu, spamming spamming your new thread.... just curious, after hacking the wall between kitchen and LR, will u be doing glass panel since you are going to keep the kitchen cabinet? r u living on the highest floor? seems like you have a good unblock view :-) btw, we are having the same problem. my carpentery work can only start after CNY :-( so i have to move twice and store my barang barang with a friend.. cavie My reno blog - Bedok
  7. hi latitude, never too late to spam :-) my current oven is below the cooker too. very inconvenient when you have nosy doggies around. Imagine my shock when i saw my dog trying to climb in one day when i leave the oven door open to "air" it. guess the chicken smell left in the oven is too tempting for them....so have to remember to close my oven door at all time,,,moreover very dangerous also when i am bring piping hot food out fm the oven with my 2 dogs trying to stick their noise in the oven and my dishes.... i will not be having another tall cabinet next to the cooker. I'm making my kitchen smaller for a bigger dining and living area.
  8. as my sink is at the shorter side of the L, I guess I will stilll have enough worktop it really depends on the size of hob i will be getting too. btu so difficult to find a <650mm black glass top stove leh unless i go for induction hob but so ex and i prefer to use glass cookware fm corning (did i spell it right?)...and getting the 2 domino hob will cost much more aarrgghhh! I missed the Teka sales by a day leh !! and now can only buy the oven at 10% instead of 20% off !! !! !! when is the next sales be??
  9. yup, i remember reading this somewhere too. so i when to a well-known shop who specialize in kithen appliciances to ask but the person says my frequency of using the oven (like 3x per mth) will not greatly affect the fridge woh, somemore there will be some gap between the fridge n the oven that's y i decided to go ahead with the placement. actually there is a slight modification to the kithcen. actual dimension is only 10ft length. 2.5ft : Sink 3ft : Hob + work top 2ft : Tall cabinet with my oven and microwave oven 2.5ft : Fridge cannot place the oven below my hob as my doggies very kaypoh and keep coming near when i bake and open the oven door... so i don't really have a choice on the placement of my oven leh...
  10. just some updates on my reno... all hacking - done wall plasteing - done false ceiling in the 2 bedrooms - done electrical wiring - done kitchen wall tiles - done will be going down only during weekend to take some pictures. here is the 3D of my kitchen... will b getting my living room 3D next week. !!
  11. i have taken so many pictures and have a few big albums to store all their photo. ya so many good food in the east...yummies...
  12. Hi Happy, not silly questions lah...i also keep asking questions for my reno when in doubt... the accessories do come in a set (like 7 or 10 pcs in a box kind) or they can be sold individually. those sold individually have more designs for your selection and personally i think they look better too cavie
  13. haha then I am more lucky as it will only take me less than 10 mins to walk to the famous Blk 85 Feng Shan Hawker Center where the bak chou mee, BBQ stingray, satay, porridge and many many stalls are "endorsed" by many channel 8 and channel U programmes...thinking of them makes me hungry now i have many photo (last time digital cam not so popular yet) of my dogs but there are all now in the temporary storage...here are some recent photos and some old photos that i have in my bag.. btw, the boy is already 11 years and the girl is 9 years...old and very loving couple....
  14. Hi HAPPY, That's what i was told lor wow 大家庭! i cook more for my 2 doggies leh (either boil or by microwave)..me chin chai chin chai eat sandwiches or ta pau which require no cooking at all think yours still under mounted lah. top mounted can see the sides of the sink on top of the granite or solid top one leh...
  15. quoted overseas ~S$700 including freight but problem is no services provided but they do give me a warranty of free replacement of the motor should there be any fault, still nego with them... thanks for directing me to the site. looks really good going down to elmark's ubi office to take a look at actual fan and see what is the price. ya hor, never thought of that...then whether translusent or not will make no difference le Hihi Cantona7, ya ya, happy shopping then go home heartaching....
  16. hi bommarillu, mine 3 room too and juz started my reno last week...glad to know that you are renovating your 3 room so can share share ideas My Reno-Blog though most of my design are sort of decided, my contractor will confirm with me before he start something new so I can still change my mind if I wanted to already bought so many things before collecting your key? btw, which estate is your new flat be in?
  17. Saw many things that I really like at Universal Union and will be confirming my order by this weekend if my contractor approves... Common Toilet Basin + Tap MBR Toilet Basin (forgotten to take picture of the tap) Glass shelves for MBR Toilet Instand Heater for both toilet (change can shower head to the chromed type) MBR Wall Tiles (the dark colour one) matches with white plain tiles for the other 2 walls + black floor tiles bought this at Gnee Hong 1 month back and was told it will be delivered by end Dec 06. Called them yesterday and was told shipment delayed cos change of mgmet in China (my business meh??) and i should be getting my blob only in Feb i saw this fan in a oversea magazine, really impressed by it but cost around S$800+ (fan + freight only) !! so "$$" not enough, most probably will just go for this instead...(<S$300 with remote control) kinda like the "translucent" blade and colour, but not sure if it looks good with white ceiling?? *sigh* pocket hole getting bigger and bigger...money getting lesser and lesser....white hair getting more and more...
  18. wow u sure have a very big wok....my biggest wok/pan/pot is only 28cm or 30cm.... i was told that it is advisable to top mount my granite sink as i don't have a concrete support + the edge is much thick than SS sink...i really wanted a granite sink so most likely will just top mount lah....btw, my sink cost around $200 from universal studio at geylang.
  19. hmmm...i will check with the shop and my contractor... btw, your sink looks nicer than my single bowl one leh....but i seldom cook => seldom needs a big sink...
  20. more items confirmed for the living room, dining room and kitchen Living Room Super white grossy floor tiles Black/White grossy laminate/glass door for shoe cabinet and TV console n feature wall Silvery lavender paint for the wall behind the sofa (think it is lavender mist?) 21. think my doggies look sad cos i woke them up, push and pull at them for the photo session normally they have smiley faces and most neighbours and friends always commented that they din know dogs can smile wan heheh.. hi sam, thanks for the encouragement..infact the fun part is handing the reno alone as i won't have any objection to any crazy or impractical ideas (阿Q 精神) but also means no one to share my reno cost
  22. hi applefreak, the company is AiJia. they don't have a showroom nor they do advertisement in magazines as they are doing more on development projects. their factory is located in AMK. my friend's sis's highly recommended them to me. btw, i "hand-sketched" the layout leh...my contractor was doing the talking and i was doing the drawing hehehe... bingo...how u guessed i am staying alone? actually i will be the only human + 2 dogs thanks arcturuz...i kinda like the idea but was concerned abt maintenance and privacy.....but hack care..just do it and worry later le....now only have to worry how to make my MBR toilet 美美 so will be shopping for my stuff these few days.... hi rina, no problem, pm u the number liao...
  23. Hi Phoenix, Think $3.6k is ok if I aga aga use a 5 room area to compare with my 3 room area...
  24. Went down today again....the wall between the kitchen and living was hacked and the MBR toilet wall also hacked..super impressed as they only gotten the approval from HDB yesterday...no PE required..heng ah... saved $600-$800 according to my contractor.. after hacking away the wall, the living room and kitchen look much bigger and brighter :-) the MBR toilet also looks acceptable now..at least a reasonable size that I can have a comfortable shower there Also aftering discussing with my contractor, we had come up with a prelimnary design including all the material used.. Here is a "hand-sketched" layout. I will be getting some prospective or 3D drawing in a week's time. This contractor has a different work style. He doesn't believe in "designing" the house in the early stage. He says 99% of the home owner will change their mind as things goes along.. sure enough, i changed my mind so many times on the theme and design that I lost count too... but luckily, this contractor is very reliable and did not keep adding $$ for everything I requested additional (not major things lah).
