    Nice Wallpaper?

Don't recommend DIY unless you are a really hands-on type of person as it is laborious to match the pattern between the various panels and the removal of air bubbles is tedious (same process as that used to stick windows film). I think you can try DNAlife since their labour charge is pretty attractive but got to see the after sales service/support (patching up/re-work/repair etc). I really like wallpaper compared to just painting as you can achieve different textures and patterns. Only issue is the longevity and strength of the glue used and wallpaper may not be suitable for families with young children .
  2. Fisher and Paykel E522. 473L, 3 ticks, 5 years warranty on compressor, 2 years comprehensive and less than S$2000 for iridium or stainless steel finish last I know. E522
  3. For your price range think you can get the made-in-Germany Bosch washing machines, will have a ton of washing programs, A+ water savings and german tech and build quality. Only thing is they come in white

    Drill Wall

That is probably the max depth that your drill can drill to. It should be written in the manual or on the packaging itself. Any deeper than that one must get a higher powered drill.
  5. Sim Lim Tower is a good beat to find cheap yet decent speaker cables and brackets. For speaker cables, think a reasonable price will be around S$3 to 4 per meter run. Brackets should be in the twenties region onwards depending on design, load it can take etc. You can probably get good advice from Singapore's local HT forum: Xtremeplace
  6. That is a very nice design there. Have not used this light but have used similar halogen lights from Ikea and two things I have realized: 1. It does run hot so unless the light is positioned high and the room is air-conditioned, you will feel it especially if you sit under it 2. Halogen bulb lifespan seems to fall far behind that of fluorescent (all types). Of course a reputable brand plays a part too I really don't think using such lights will have a huge impact on electricity bill. The greatest consumers are still the fridge, air con and washing machine followed by computer/electronic appliances. Keeping these items off when not in use (not standby) and maintaining them properly will be more useful in controlling the monthly electrical expense.
  7. Wow..very interesting design but the price is really a whopper! Don't think there are much choices for hanging balcony chairs here...no market demand due to the lack of space and the rainy seasons we face.
  8. Tangs? Robinsons? Taka B1? However, all these places must go when they are having sale or GSS to really get things at a good discount.
  9. I thought the Studio 1961 website has a bubble chair? Bubble Chair Think it will really look cool in the balcony if one has the space for it!

    Nice Wallpaper?

Goodrich labour cost varies depending on the surface area, complexity of surface to be covered and if pre-prep work is needed. Ranges from S$300 onwards. The labour cost for my 2 walls wallpapering was S$500.

    4k For Curtains!

You can buy from Ikea, brand is Tuppler...cheap but quality not really great. Easy to install though. Just need to drill 4 holes. Another option is Spotlight. They do have better quality roller blinds compared to Ikea but of course at a higher price.
  12. Saw them at Life Storey at Great World too. They really look good but more for show than functional use since they are made from acrylic or is it polycarbonate and the surface will get scratches and mars easily.
  13. I believe you can use the homeplug with any brand of router, just got to configure it. As per the post above, there may be some interference when transmitting data through the electrical wall socket but I guess the theoretical speeds should still be higher than what is currently possible with wireless G. I think a combination of both wireless and the homeplug solution will provide sufficient coverage for most homes.
  14. The IT show starts today. You can buy the Aztech Homeplugs HL108 and use the typical electrical wall sockets to connect up to speeds of 200 Mbps without running Cat 5e cables all over. Think this is a very neat and elegant solution. I am planning to use this method with wireless for my place.
  15. Wow...did not realize that using granite would be such a health hazard! Good to know about it! As for dining table, I think it is important to buy something that you really like since it is a one-off investment and most people will not look to change it over the years. I agree that the chairs will be more important
  16. I actually came across a 6 stage reverse osmosis system that is supposed to be mounted below the sink from Ebay: Filter Direct Really looks very impressive and heavy duty compared to the other solutions discussed thus far with lots of filters and a huge reservoir. You may wish to check it out.
