  1. oh yah hor, i never thought about collecting it from them. I think i should, else i may miss my SP bill Tomorrow I go!
  2. My updates! Took a look last Friday. I haven't got time to go up regularly to check on the progress. Tomorrow will be another week since I last checked Living room and bomb shelter grouting done. Living room wall and ceiling cracks have been covered. But I check out my matching pipes.... .. I mean the concealed water pipe in the living room was still leaking. I check by removing the rectangular board and touch the pipe. It's wet. - Will feedback Window hinges still not changed. I was told that the windows will take longer because it's done by BCA and they are waiting for stocks to arrive (from japan). Bedrooms' hollow parquet which I marked with masking tapes have been filled but found some uneven ones probably due to overflow of glue. One of the parquet was cracked due to careless drilling. The worker had the cheek to put back the crack parquet. the crack is so obvious that I spotted it the moment i stepped into the room. - will feedback Skirting in all bedrooms revarnished. Cracks on bedroom doors have been mended and revarnished. MBR footprints on parquet near toilet could still be seen. I was told it will be gone after revarnish. apparently it isn't so. Then there's a circle stain on the floor. must be caused by the can of varnish which they put on the floor - will feedback Haiz, I can't remember what are the other defects as i don't have my list with me. Lastly, I mentioned about the feedback to LTA regarding the opening of gaps / Putting up U-turn signs on Jurong West St 64 / Opening another entrance along Jurong West Ave 4. I just received a call from them and they will be looking into it. Hope we get good news and a safer road! EDIT: Just now I called BSC and spoke to this sleepy-sounding lady who doesn't sound interested in taking calls so I couldn't find out the progress of the rectification works. Hi, I knocked on every single piece of parquet with the handle of a pair of plastic scissors. Because HDB uses glue-injection, the parquet will have tiny holes. I have so many hollow parquet so I only requested to fill those that are hollower (is there such a term?). You can tell when HDB has revarnished the parquet if it looks darker and cleaner. Previously, the parquet flooring will look dull even after I've cleaned and mopped. That day when I went up and see, there's a little gloss hi sengkt, Happy for u that they change all the living room tiles! At least now the living room looks completely new did they tell u that they put u on the waiting list? My main door has alot of cracks and I'm wondering how come they have not mended/changed the door. I don't know if I'm on the waiting list anot too. hi haroldism, you collected ur new letterbox key as HDB has handed over back to you or just the key? They changed my lock recently but I have no news from them. BTW, I noticed there's 2 batches of locks. the previous batch of locks (YTL Brand iirc) looks better. The current ones (like mine) look like those cheapo drawer locks . But mai hiam, at least better than the rusty one. Hi kiki, So lucky u and sengkt managed to get all the tiles changed. btw, the lady at the BSC which u pple spoke to is so much nicer. Just now i called and spoke to this lady who doesn't sound like the malay lady u pple mentioned. must be today i suay
  3. My bedroom doors were not replaced as I could see that they touched up the defects and the reported bad workmanship. I would say they did quite a good job because the doors looked new But as I didn't labeled all the defects (thought they will change the door), they only rectified the areas which I'd marked.
  4. correction. the price is ~$40 per trip to lay the pipe and another trip to turn on the supply.
  5. gas pipes from the source at the corner of ur kitchen to your hob. the contractors have to be energy-dunno-what-authority-licensed to fix it. Read from someone's blog that it costs ~$180 i think. I can't rem where I read it from.
  6. On taking a closer look, i realised the living room floor tiles are not very even. Last night, i placed a lamp at a corner on the floor and look from the other end, I could see the 'ups and downs'. omfg, kitchen wall tiles also same, I seriously do not know if there was any QC done beforehand.
  7. gas turn-on can be done after reno is completed but the laying of gas pipes to your hob prolly need to make appt too. yup, you're right about zen furniture.
  8. Grouting? Is that the supposedly white cement in between tiles?
  9. Just to inform those with crack tiles, especially kitchen wall - After the cracked tiles have been removed, please check the cement screeding for cracks as well. The cracks on the tiles could be caused by the cracks within the cement screeding. Replacement of the wall tiles without rectifying the cracks on the cement may cause the replaced tiles to crack again in future.
  10. Don't worry about having applied and turned on the supplies. If don apply electricity and water, i duno if the contractors can carry out rectification works without power for their tools and water for the cement. And not sure if hdb may backdate and charge? I love ZEN too!
  11. Mine was pretty fast. About 1 week after I submitted the list, they've started. Why don you try submitting the defects list as early as possible because more pple are getting keys and rectification may take longer after that. My main door has a big crack and 3 bedroom doors have small cracks. I'm hoping they change the doors
  12. Yah. if the taxi gets caught doing illegal u-turn, your taxi fare goes up. If the taxi makes legal u-turn, your taxi fare still go up. I think I will feedback to LTA. Need to chk which is the right channel. I heard from my colleague that a request was made to open a gap at some bukit timah area because making a u-turn during peak hours can be a killer. The gap now has saved the drivers 15mins! Yup I submitted early last week. On the spot, they asked me to select a date from a list and i took PM leave to meet the HDB officer + contractor. They have started work (should be yesterday) because the defective tiles have been removed and placed neatly in two canvas bags outside the house.
  13. If there's any emergency (touch wood), that entrance is going to jam! Just yesterday, I was coming out of the carpark when a car from the right (the road next to the carpark) zoomed out. There is actually a stop line but complacency can cause accidents. Lastly, LTA (is it them?) should open a gap right infront of the entrance of the carpark so that cars along st 64 (towards the direction of gek poh) can make a right turn into the carpark. The case now is that pple are making u-turns at the x junction. We need more entrance/exits. Preferbly one infront of the temple too cos' people turning out of the carpark to go to PIE also have to make u-turns at the mini junction. The u-turns I mentioned above are 'legal by left'.
  14. Rusty letterbox lock Main wooden door crack Hollow living room floor tiles Window hinge crack Slight wall crack Bomb shelter hollow floor tiles Cracked kitchen wall tiles Kitchen toilet cement behind water cistern cover incomplete. Kitchen toilet mirror stain. Toilet tile crack Bedrooms Crack between parquet and skirting Hollow parquet Doors crack Some gaps between toilet floor and adjacent wall
  15. Thanks for the confirmation. I'm worried the replacement tiles will be different due to it being EOL after 6 years. Mine is cracked wall tiles. I'm quite sure almost every unit has hollow tiles/parquet slabs because of the mass production during construction of the blocks. Sure have 偷工减料 here and there.
  16. Hi Tinyeyes, these photos were taken after the faulty tiles were removed and that they are waiting to be replaced right? That's a big hole sia. I hope your nightmare will be over soon once they've replaced the tiles. BTW, the replacement tiles are of the same design/color?
  17. I've not submitted yet because it's really a long list. Fri late noon after work, I checked the parquet skirting and found cracks and gaps. This afternoon, I checked the parquet flooring and found alot of hollow slabs. Probably will submit on Monday before cny. As for the crooked walls, is there anything that HDB can do? Yah I noticed some holes on the walls, they looked like worm holes yeah? The room door also have. Paste masking tape liao.
  18. oh ok, glad to hear that we can submit further defects after the first round. At least it won't be so tedious having to squeeze out all defects in the house during submission
  19. Submission on Sat and Monday they called. That's fast. BTW, I tot the defects submission can only be done once unless it's rectification of the same defect?
  20. Hi TinyEyes, may I know when did you make the appt for them to inspect your house this morning? How is the situation of your parquet flooring now? Curious how they will inject glue into it since the flooring is sealed. I have stuck many pieces of masking tape in the rooms
  21. Just to update on the inspection. There's quite a number of gaps between the parquet flooring and skirting. There's some cracks too. Abit troublesome because have to kneel down and see. Ended up with black knee caps. Then I also came across hollow parquet slabs. Strange, thought this only happens to ceramic. Anyway, will include that in the defects list.
  22. Putty is the white cement that is used to cover gaps in between tiles. yup i checked the kitchen wall by knocking at every single tile. I'm fussy when it comes to quality checking, unless my wife say 'close one eye' for some hollow tiles lor. I'm not sure about online submission though. The dried paint on the electrical points, you'll probably have to remove them urself but i personally find them minor cos' it's white. Parquet floor polishing and varnishing I believe have to engage own contractor to do it. My wall on the upper part (no stool cannot reach one) also got dots when i run my hand over but can't see visually. !!
  23. me long time no post also. soo busy! here's to reply some of the posts above. The quotation I got to build a feature wall to cover the entire front of the bomb shelter was ex so i don think i will be doing it. but i went on to see another contractor and instead of a feature wall, they used a 'feature door' for the bomb shelter's door. Along the walls of the bomb shelter are long blocks of wood. Picture this, it's like a full feature wall but instead of covering the entire wall, they used wooden blocks. Curious, I asked about the door only and it costs ¬$600. If include the blocks, I guess it should be less than 1K since it's lesser materials than a full feature wall. Still considering but i can do without covering the shelter cos' budget I also have not submitted the defect list though collection of keys was on 16th. Very tiring to scrutinize the entire house. So far the obvious ones incl cracked main door, hollow living rm tiles (abt 6), cracked kitchen tiles (abt 10), hollow bomb shelter tiles, cracked window hinges, cracks near window frames, putty behind the toilet cistern cover not fully done. It was only done till the toilet cistern cover. When i removed the cover, can see the gap between tiles U pple better check too. Hmm what else, toilet basin not level, putty in kitchen cracked. The worst finding was a rusty tool in the toilet bowl. I'm going to find more defects and give them one long list.
