  1. usually the instant heater will be installed near the shower head but with the concealed piping, where's the nearest place to put the instant heater? wah.. the rainfall shower will make u not want to leave the shower as the water flows... and more waterflow, more electricity for heater, higher bill
  2. yup agree with the wastage of electricity. Do u think it's possible to install instant heater at the 'U' there so that the water can be channeled to both showers? Sekali not enough water pressure in the other shower.
  3. Oh no, don't tell me the centralised hot water only serves the 2 toilets? I'll go take a look again tomorrow.
  4. I believe the hot water pipes are in. I'm not sure but looking at the U-pipes behind the door of the kitchen toilet, I guess the U has to be dismantled, with one end going to the Input of the centralised heater and the other end receiving the heater's Output.
  5. Thanks for the PMs! !! As for the chinese, get ur WIindows CD ready. U must have the regional language settings installed if u have, skip to next step else do this first: 1) Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > {Languages} tab > Check (install files for east asian languages) Click on [DETAILS] button in the same tab as languages > Under installed services, click [ADD] and add input language as CHINESE (PRC) > Keyboard layout put Chinese (simplified) - Quan Pin 2) Reboot liao, Press [ALT] + [sHIFT]. A little box will pop out and u can start typing in hanyu pinyin. Try and let me know if it works.
  6. Hi shutiao06, thanks and sorry for troubling you. I agree ID is expensive, especially so if they are of more reputable names. Talking about chemistry, you're right. I was at IMM last week to get a quote and I didn't feel very comfortable during the discussion. Chemistry the word! Please PM me any info which you're comfortable in sharing. I understand about the ethic issue so no worries about it. BTW, I was walking downstairs when i saw a "欢迎光临" banner hung on one of the high levels. lol! But I was dead beat by then so decided not to go up. I guess my next walk ard the blocks shd be the weekend. Right now, I also need to sleep... headache for the new flat is approaching
  7. wah, can you can share which are the units that you took a look and their IDs? Would love to cast my ID net further Yah, can shutiao share quotation?
  8. back from visiting the flat. didn't really scrutinize the flat but found some visible faults like main door crack and kitchen tiles crack. will be chking again and update soon
  9. can go earlier than ur appt time. i was there earlier to see the Habitat n took a queue num after that. was served within 3mins n left at my appt time. jus finished lunch @ hub
  10. I haven't confirmed mine as I'm still sourcing. If u didn't include the items in to the quote and the quote as been approved (confirmed and paid for) by you, ask the ID how much more u need to pay to add those items. Unless you mean those items you discussed with the ID and added verbally but not in black and white. Roughly what are those items? I think they can +/- a little if it's not too much.
  11. 1 week to hand up defects? That's like, so fast! better check with hdb on the appt date itself. Mine's at 11am. How about u?
  12. Yep 16th too. Guess the dates hover around the same since our letters were received on the same day.
  13. Hi kiki, thanks for the clarifications. I guess that means priority will be given to those who are first-timers as well.
  14. i called up hdb to find out why it's taking so long to process my application. apparently the system didn't reflect correctly that i'm not taking ahg. I was told if no ahg is required, the keys can be collected soon, so they'll check and revert. for those who have not got their keys, who did not confirm with hdb (on your first appt) that you do not want ahg, who later realised that you are not eligible for ahg and inform hdb that u dont need ahg, do make a call to check your application. !!
  15. 1 month! That's fast. I'm going to call them to press them. Getting the keys earlier allows us to check for defects -> fix it -> renovate and move in soon. Yes I'm sure all of us would appreciate a list of common problems to look out for in the new flat. Thanks sengkt!
  16. Hi Sengkt, If the tiles are no longer avail, I think can request to change all the tiles. I mean, it make more sense to change all since the original tiles are no longer available. But would it be foc? Usually how long does it take to collect the keys? Can those who've collected the keys give a rough gauge from Date of flat selection to Date of key collection?
  17. The cat... As for wireless, you mentioned u are a SNBB user but can't register for wireless? Do u mean u want to have wireless network (wifi) at home but ur current modem does not support it? An immediate solution would be to buy a wireless router and connect your SNBB modem's ethernet "output" (the rectangle jack that looks like a big telephone jack) to the wireless router's "IN", provided your SNBB modem has the ethernet port (besides having only the USB).
  18. Hi, I received the HLE approval letter from HDB late last week too so I guess the letter for the next appointment will come separately. Have to wait liao
