Anyone's fan wobbles when switched to the highest speed? My amasco 56" motor wobbles slightly at manual speed 3 + remote speed max. It wobbles lesser at manual speed 3 + remote speed med. It works most gracefully at manual speed 2, remote speed med.

yah i noticed the pail of water has grey residue at the bottom after the mopping session. But I'm not sure if it's dust from the surroundings or from the grouting though -

How's the dust condition for mopping once a week? Is the water very murky? I'm taking a break tonight and see if it becomes dusty again is it bits and pieces came off? very sian leh like that, have to worry about my grouting dropping off. -
yah, need to diy because burnt a huge hole in the pocket. now waiting for next pay not really in a hurry to shift in but would prefer to do it asap to close this chapter that's been bugging me

wah a sudden surge of posts! Neighbours that experienced the dust on shelves, were your windows fully shut? I've been mopping the floor everyday, hoping to 'condition' the grouting. -
Thanks for the info. May I know what materials are those protectors made of?

Talking about cracks, my old cracks patched by HDB and painted 2 layers by myself are also reappearing. I was told the cracks are caused by the joints of the concrete slabs. I guess more cracks will appear over time. I can only prepare myself mentally BTW jjcian, nice photos! I got no t-blog because too busy initially to take any proper photos. Got tail no head will look funny

oh thanks bro. din noticed that it's not meant for parquet. then maybe i'll get rugs. More important to prevent major scratches. I can roll elsewhere
-
Hi, Some of you may know that the castors on office chairs tend to scratch the parquet over time. May I know how you prevent the scratches? Ikea has those rubber mats but they are very expensive. Any cheaper alternatives?
-
But i don't think the part time cleaners will clean the paint spots on the window panels right? After I'vee cleaned up the difficult spots such as paint stains then I get one to come clean up the whole house.

I have a strong feeling they will keep their promise abt changing our main door. shutiao, yah **** long. I was busy with exams and after exams got alot of backlog at work so didn't come and post actively. once a while see familiar issues then help answer abit lor. yah my house is done. I didn't do much reno though it's been months... Only kitchen cab, living/dining room cornice, wardrobe, curtains that require external pple to do. The rest of the items I do myself lor. save $, own effort, so slow progress Now i'm left with MBR lights because the shop's supplier cannot provide a flawless one. u know those acrylic lights? the exterior very sensitive and prone to cracks, scratches. Also got to clean up the whole house. duno how long it will take sia.

just to add, i think cannot use knuckles like checking for hollow tiles in ceramic. Can try use coins, back of a pencil. Finger nails also can. Ah Xiang used finger nails to tap one one or two but if u do the whole room, later will get sore fingers after checking all the parquet. BTW, BSC has changed my windows' cracked plastic hinges. The HDB officer, duno is it Mr Tan, assured me during inspection that the plastic inside actually has metal. He probably hoped that I will close one eye lar. But windows issue is about safety so i insisted on the change. That day I asked the contractor and he said the entire piece is plastic. Although tough, it may still crack after a long time (as long as the period between the flat's completion date till today). heng I changed. Now only waiting for main door. and one more thing, I noticed the sleepy girl at bsc is no longer there.
-
Hmm... lookout for hollow parquet and request them to re-tile the parquet. They will say they can't. Then ask them what can they do? They will say they can only fill up with glue. Ask them abt the process. They will say they will drill a hole on the parquet and then patch it back. Ask them about the holes and how are they going to conceal it if there are so many (like mine, full of hollow parquet). They should answer that they will sand and revarnish it.

No leh, i have not cleaned up my house yet because busy at the moment. how long ago was ur washing done? perhaps the wet grouting is not dried yet. the other day my wife wet a part of the floor. The grouting became brown and the brown stain only went away after more than 1 full day.
-
oops, the grouting came off after chemical washing? means bsc's job of re-grouting is actually a thin layer to cover the old peachy grouting?
-
yah the black ones. Anyway, I've decided not to pursue the black plastic parts because I really hate to go down to bsc. But i will still ask abt the replacement of the main door because the mended patches for the cracks are opening up. i think the little gap under the glass panel is bo bian, water will seep out because.. of the gap. maybe u can try to use those rubber piece meant to lower the impact of glass doors banging onto concrete surface. Duno what's that called but my kitchen glass door has it. I managed to sapu 1 small extra piece from the left overs but haven't put at my mbr toilet glass yet. I'll update once i've tried it. wah the basin area there wet? is it u splash alot of water? One alternative is the rubber piece i mentioned to shutiao but i haven't tried out yet. let u pple know later. 2nd alternative, lower ur tap water pressure so won't splash ard too much. can save water too
-
Hi shutiao, what abt the plastic hinges? If hdb has no intention to get the contract because it's too ex, then I don't think bsc will honour their word abt replacing the plastic parts. I think u can purchase from bsc but subject to availability because IIRC, the living room tile design is obsolete liao that's why some of the forumers here had different toned tiles for replacement. BTW, I bought my kitchen wall tiles from them so u can check with them. Hi kiki, do u mean the glass panel in the MBR toilet? The water seep out from below the glass panel? That time one of the forumers posted about water seeping out after a shower in the MBR toilet. Can't remember where I read it liao. Duno if urs is the same problem?

I just checked the box today, looks free from any tampering. Keeping my fingers crossed that nothing bad will happen.

Not only is the door locked but the splitters are in another locked cabinet within it. Those thieves are really something!

LCD or Plasma TV
Commando replied to sakae sushi's topic in Sound and Vision -Home Theatre Systems & Audiophiles
sure, probably end of may after my exams which i can then go full fledge with my house cleanup. -
I haven't installed anything yet but from the toilet manual provided by hdb, storage heater can only be installed at the given location while the rest of the fixtures (instant heater) can be fixed on with screws of max 20mm length. oh i also heard it one night. I suspect it comes from those parquet that are hollow cos' i didn't fill up all the hollow parquet with glue.

Hi henrywoo, u can take a look at alexter's t-blog here http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?ac...=50&t=12369 page 3. There's installation of joven heater with pictures but i can't recall the size he bought. hope that helps -
Hi applefreak, thanks for the photo though abit dark lah haha. what is what brand and what model for what? i think it's suitable for everywhere, including the kitchen.
-
I was at the lighting shops at Jurong East. I casually asked for the price of the 60" Fanco fan and was quoted "about" $220 The Amasco model which I wanted was at $220 w/o remote. Adding a remote would cost about $90. Some shops charge $80 for the remote. I think buying the remote individually at $50 and fixing it myself is cheaper. steventay, I mentioned that the aroma I saw (the one posted by applefreak) costs $320 - $328 at Hong Tar at Jurong West. It would be better if u can check the Balestier and Jln Besar area cos' most likely it'll be cheaper.
