Hi fellow neighbours, it's been a long time since I posted. Would like to bring to your attention regarding crack tiles in your kitchen or toilets. When I first reported the cracked tiles in my kitchen, the hdb-appointed contractors hacked off and replaced the tiles. After they'd hacked off the tiles, I noticed that the cement wall (screed) behind the tiles also had cracks. The contractors did not mend the cracked screed and simply replaced the tiles. Now I noticed fine cracks on my kitchen tiles again. Will feedback to HDB and see what they can do. If you'd previously reported such cracked tiles, please do take a closer look at the replaced tiles and see if the cracks have returned. -

Hi Shutiao06, yah the carpark was so packed till level 4, which is a very uncommon sight. I've never parked beyond level 2 so far. If u'd notice, there's no free parking on Sunday at our cp, probably because it's opposite the temple and knowing that when there are functions there on Sunday, pple will tend to park at our cps. If the carpark attendants were around that day, they would have reached their quota after 1 level and earn extra commission, if any. lol Noticed ur sig; have u paid ur ID fully? I'm afraid if he'd gotten 100%, complaints may go unheeded. -

Hi reds, The tv points (abt 4 - 5 depending on layout) in our home area already fixed. They are 'cable-ready' tv points. no need to fix up cable point or change the points. What they will do when they come down is to open up the E/T compartment outside ur home and switch the spliiters' connections from rooftop to cable. There was a previous discussion in this thread about splitters being stolen by thieves. These splitters are originally connected to the rooftop antenna. What Starhub will do when they come down is to switch the connections that's all. Are you already a cable TV subscriber? If not, when u apply, they should change it for u FOC because they gain a new subscriber If u are an existing cable tv subscriber and u intend to bring ur set top box from ur old home to here, call them to come down and switch the antennas for u. they may charge u but u should tell them U just moved in and are not aware of their 'conversion exercise' that took place months ago. I had mine done a few months back but unfortunately, the guys didn't do a good job and my living room tv point could not watch cable channels but the rest of the house could . They came down to inspect and found that it's not my fault (fault lies with their contractor for mistakenly changing my neighbour's living room tv point instead of mine) so they waived the charges. Remember, the most important excuse u shd use is, u just shifted in so they should not charge u. -

Yes this can be used to watch cable tv, provided it has been switched from using rooftop antenna to cable. The flats come default with the points connected to the roof antenna (means unable to get cable tv channels). A few months earlier, starhub came to our estate to do a free switch from roof to cable for the residents who have shifted in / are aware that starhub is in the estate. That time i have not shifted in but was around so I got them to change it for me. hi alex, mind sharing which level of the carpark did these incidents happen? -
Very beautiful cats! simply love them. Really peifu you for being able to take care of soooo many cats.

No prob henrywoo1978, i guess it's the colors of the wall and the light that created the cozy ambiance. As for the marble table, it's a hand-me-down. Just wat I wanted to get so it actually saved me a thousand + $ too. Can have a small steamboat gathering too! -

just yesterday I was discussing with my wife if we should put a shoe rack outside our unit to 'chop' the place. Eventually decided not to because we still prefer the corridor clutter-free and we're hoping our new neighbours will be a young couple/family. High chance based on my observation of the units that were being selected during the previous ballot exercise. -

Ok i will try to be nicer in future. Most of the time when the lift stops while going up, there'll be no one at the lobby. Sometimes I wonder if someone actually pressed it or 'something' else did choy! wah lotsa greenery. think like Savannah the Condo in simei. -

The 'extreme' neighbours are those from the 'enbloc series'. they put potted plants, bicycles, bamboo racks at the corridors and even added clothes hangers at the parapets. i notice a bad habit. they like to press both the UP and DOWN button of the lift whenever they take the lift. They do that because they can take whichever lift that comes first but they do not know that whoever's going up in the lift will stop at their level first. It has happened many times that i've lost count. I believe their previous block do not have up and down buttons, only one button that gets the lift but this is not the way to use both buttons. I've had enough and once this lift stopped at a lower level. The auntie pretended that I didnt exist. I gave her a very hard stare as the lift door closed. I think she can recognize me liao as for bus service, i saw 243 too. -

oh yes now i know where the old BLSS was. It was also used for some football club training but not sure if it's still in use. The air base will not be shifting so we'll have to bear with it. -

Don't think whether you've made the wrong choice but think how u can get used to it. Like what rumi suggested, u could close the windows or leave it slightly opened. This reduces dust and noise. Then leave the kitchen windows open for ventilation. BTW, traffic should be heaviest in the day while most of us are at work. Night time should be less noise? I got used to the planes for a few years but now I have to get used to it again because it's louder here than at my previous place. I had wanted to take the block facing the temple too but decided not to because am afraid of the ashes and dust during the temple activities. rumi: the vibration feels the same as in when u're at a traffic junction and sports car next to you keeps on reving non-stop. Not to the extent of earthquake -

hi there! A warm welcome to our new neighbours! Hi shutiao06, I'm also shifting in on Sunday but as for belongings, have to stretch over a period because there's simply too many things to bring over from my old house. yo bro, the noise u referring to is the cars horning at the t-junction? I realised lately there's planes flying even in the late evening. Comparing the noise between our estate and my old house just across the street, I think our estate's airplane noise is very loud because the planes literally fly above our blocks towards tengah! Can feel the vibration -

Ah no wonder. anyway my wife and I have already accepted the quality of the flat. And yes, JW wasn't one of our options because we felt JW is considered at the far end. She works in JW while I've lived in JW close to 10 years so we didn't want to be in JW anymore But after many unsuccessful attempts at other areas - bukit batok, queenstown, jln membina, we decided to just pick one because we're sick of the so called balloting system. Welcome fellow neighbours! -
