i think if you buy the actual brand spare remote, it will be costly. I have seen universal ones for aircon that comes with clear settings that you need to configure for all the major brands and Toshiba is one of them. There can be found everywhere, even one of those "cheap" stores that sells almost everything.

not sure abt ur controller, it must have a learn function correct? Point the SH controller with the button you want to learn and have that input taken by ur universal controller. I did that to my philip controller sometime back

If it is 2 yrs, it is fairly new leh, unless previous owner did not maintain then you may want to consider polishing. My personal view on this is that, these are 2 things that i will not save money on as it will create major incovenience or headache. paint first and then polish & apply sealant. Sure "kilat" like new

Hi: Mr chew does everything inclusive the railings and all accessories. The only thing he does not do is those "UV" films, like eg. Vkool for cars if you intent to have those on your windows but he can recommend someone that does that. I got recommended by a forumer here and since he does home visits and his price resonable (my own assessment, as we did not engage or ask anyone else) we actually used him to do our whole house. Quite a few forumer also suggested "jimmy textiles" but they do not do house visits, you have to bring your floor plan (or pics) and have the discussion at their shop at the old "yokoso" at tg katong. As it is difficult to do color and concept matching, we drop them and called mr chew instead. His services have met our expectation. He can speak most chinese dialects and mandarin, not sure about malay, did not manage to test him Anyway long story short, give him a short, no obligations. One more thing, he also does not do "hong cai" if you are thinking of hanging that.

Thanks for the suggestion and refirmation. I have actually thought about this before as i do quite a bit of community work helping the youth. I am not certain if this is something the school would like for their students to do. For example, i have to confessed that i am a car nut. I have these very beautiful pair of car headlamps, which i took out when i bought my last car (which is sold now) and i have some unique car spares even to a special US indented exhaust system. My idea is to turn all my loves to something that i can use and put in my "space" and enjoy them. At this pt, it is all in the store room and my wife have been nagging me for the longest time to throw them away. Imagine you have a pair of car headlamps in you room providing you "lights" cool right!! or an exhaust system hanging on the wall as an art piece or make it into a tall table wow!!. If anyone has suggestion or contacts, pls PM me. I will drive around some of these industrial park this weekends and see if there are small shops that can help to do some cutting/welding for me ..... cheers

i have a differing opinion here, it depends on what you want. Generally, if the FL ID has never worked before and have no comprehension about scale, sizing and also creativity... better think twice. If he/she is someone that has experience but is doing this part time due to other commits and they can meet your design needs, why not? But also bear in mind that you have to do all the coordination with your contractors, ID ends when you accept their design. Try to negotiate for attention time, which your contractor may need to call him/her to check on some of the designs. I have never used a FL ID but will not rule them out. Hope this helps.

I am using fascina, have heard good things about best view as well but did not manage to evaluate then during my selection. For Doors, depends on what you are looking for, most companies thats sells you the door will offer you the service to do the installation, especially the iron mongeries eg. hinges/latches/door knobs/handles. I got my iron mongeries from Doorsplus as my door is in my package from the main contractor. I did not compare the prices for the iron mongeries from Doorsplus, but if you have the time, do compare prices. Quite a few forumers did like doorsplus but i may have some negative feedbacks on them. They are understaff and over work driving customer service to the drain. This is one of the company that has lost it's vision in my opinion and when you carry on doing business this way, customer will vote with their feet. If you do get their services, please bear in mind, in recent times, they have started to forsaken customers. Just my 2 cents on Doorsplus.

Thanks Master for the detail write up. I am using the aquamix gold label, their most premium sealant, about $360 for 1 bottle. Hopefully this will help. And i have found a new product (which just got launch) from italy that have solved my problem. It's chemical reaction, i have no idea but it will not harm the marble and sealant.

anyone has any experience on yellow spots surfacing on the marble? I spoke to my contractor and he mentioned to me that this is normal as natural stones will have this phenomenal. It is not the whole living & dining having yellow spots but it is near my HS. I am not sure if it could be the may they lay the marble or it is going thru some outgasing etc?. Can anyone who has this experience comment. Thanks
