    Hi guys, I am getting my bto flat next year. Wish to extend my hdb bto toilet. Wish to ask if anyone has wrote in to hdb and done this successfully before? I dont mind voiding the warranty and do waterproofing on the extended areas. Also appreciate if anyone has a letter template to write in to HDB on this too. Thanks much!

    Can i ask what will happen if the 1st HLE is insufficient (even if taking cpf into account) and our income currently exceeds the ceiling before the bto is ready? Will we be (1) asked to take a bank loan and pay 20% down payment (2) be granted the insufficient 1st HLE (3) be able to reassess the HLE quantum using our new income? Thank you!

May I check if these are too expensive? 1) Platform bed (254cm x 130cm x 30cm) - $2800 2) Full height shelf (130cm x 240 cm x ? cm) - $1750 3) Shift current built in wardrobe to another area (230cm x 240cm x 60cm) - $770 Thank you everyone.

    Good luck in your hunt! I'm also getting a resale flat so will be keeping a lookout on your blog I realise old units are particularly troublesome. I have weird windows that appear out of nowhere and ceiling beams.

    I was spammed by InspireID. Person who contacted me was a beng. Didn't ask for quote and immediately struck them out. I am considering working with De Style. But I haven't receive their quotation yet. The ID who served me was very knowledgeable. Maybe we can PM to discuss if we got the same ID?

    Ya I heard that too! But the flat I'm getting has barely 60 years left so I think the odds of me finding another buyer is close to impossible haha. Ya but I agree that should be one the considerations to take into account!

    hi @matchalatte, i also wanted that island idea and put my sink there. For this to happen, the water pipe has to be concealed UNDERNEATH the flooring. One ID mentioned that HDB does not allow concealed piping. The other option is to pull the pipes from the top (omg so ugly). If you want to have the sink on the island, probably have to do the "by left" way. I'm not sure if HDB allows - haven't check that independently

    Hello all! Just sharing the deal that I just got at the IT show at suntec. 1699 for 3400mm track (up to 5 pieces), 14 + 6 (free) adaptors, and another 600mm desk track free (or u can choose the tower). Thought its quite a good deal. Just sharing! Look for my sales rep (he's really sincere). Not affiliated to them! Just sharing cause I'm gonna reno soon too haha.

    I thought kompacplus isn't ideal for baking cause there are pores and colour may seep into them? I guess I'd probably be doing the kneading of the dough on the top and I don't want my food dyes to stain my top. I'm also considering this island idea and I think I'm going for caesarstone / silestone top. I may be wrong too! Please correct me if my understand is not right haha. My ideas are kinda similar to yours: much hacking, sliding door concept. Still waiting for them to quote. Will share if I find some good deals!
