Kitchen and 2 toilets overhaul should be able to fit within 15k and still have some allowance to spare. You can refer to my quote on my blog for 1 kitchen and 1 toilet by Ah Soon Uncle.
-
Yes. You're very lucky! I'll KP to Uncle if he appears later. ... not fair ! If they did works over the weekend, I'll be able to start my carpentry works earlier .......
-
The big pipe for my kitchen will be hidden behind a long cabinet that can be opened. Can also store brooms, mops, etc. They don't leak but if your neighbour do some works, etc, there could be a possibility of damaging the pipes, thus causing a leak.
-
I think both SL and LSH have the tiles. I believed I've seen them before.
-
If you have an opening where the plumber can open and check the pipes, I believe it's ok. If it's a total box-up where there's no way to open to check, I think HDB will not approve. There are some of Uncle's works where the pipes are concealed in a cabinet and can be opened.

Wow ... nice Btw, how much did uncle charge you for the sliding doors below your sink/hob? Thinking of asking him do that instead of wooden ones.
-
Wow ... great start ! I hope uncle's popping by my place today even though he never call ... need to tell him about the tiling ...
-
You can try Genova industries

Guy: I wish you a good start tomorrow

Is yours a storage heater? If so, then have to call the agent to check. Also ask Jason to check the wiring of the 15amp switch. Is it direct to the DB? If it's tapped from some other points, there could be chances of overload. My tilers are of varied quality, 2 out of 3 quite consistent. The older uncle has varying standards. Sometimes very good, sometimes the gap quite big...

I wonder who's the other 5 ... maybe the lurkers in this forum? (like me ?? hehe) We also paid 40% liao ... 20% upon confirmation of works, another 20% after the tiles arrive. I think the next 20% will come after the tilings and bathroom/kitchen accessories installed. Uncle never really discussed the payment schedule with me ... i reckon that it would be 20, 20, 20, 20, 10, 10 like the rest.

Chinese old uncle? It's a different removal team from mine. Try to tell Uncle early so that he can rectify it.
-
You made a good choice Although Uncle is very busy, he still takes the pain to answer all my calls even though some are just 2 mins clarification type. His price is also "no horse run" - hokkien. Cannot find in Singapore, JB and Batam ... lol

Update on water proofing. They're currently doing the new thing. No need to wait what so ever, it's like chemical which is layered on the floor, then the just pile cement over it. For the toilet, they need to wait for it to dry before they cement. Will update my blog on the waterproofing pics

Uncle did not come to my place. When I called him in the afternoon and in the evening at around 5plus, his background was very noisy. I suspect that he was at some place where hacking was on-going. Did anyone meet Uncle today?
-
Who came? The ah nehs? Must tell uncle about laminate flooring. May have to replace that piece as it's unlike parquet which can be sanded down.
-
I think (I hope I'm wrong) he meant 6 on Monday.
-
Gaku: My hacking takes 2 days (including removal of debris, with my help) even though it was only 1 kitchen and 1 MBR toilet. So if you're doing a full unit and takes 3 days, sounds reasonable. There could be snags such as ceramic adhesive which could be hard to hack, especially if it's on the wall. The breaker / hacking equipment is also rather heavy and hot after long usage. I think a combination of these could contribute to the delay.

Uncle also never ask for a copy. He actually used it to add items in Chinese for those he left out and then sign on the copy again. Uncle actually uses his Chinese quotation as a guide. He'll also scribble items, drawings, plan, etc on your floor plan. So no worries Btw, Uncle told me he has 6 to "open house" next week. Guess yours is one of them

You won't regret it because it really looks nice. Looks even nicer if you have blue tinted windows The only thing you'll regret is the regular cleaning you need to do to maintain its whiteness ;p
-
Nice tiles and the white window frame looks good. I'm also using white powder-coated window frames currently and they didn't turn yellow after 8+ years.
-
Wow... fast works. My plastering yet to start. They are starting the tilings today. The kitchen is looking good with the smooth white tiles Will be updating the progress on my blog
