Will Contractors Buy Those Hdb Rm Wooden Doors?
oh oh replied to yokoyoko's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
I dont think so.... my contractor threw one of those for me at the void deck... seen some other doors there too. guess nobody botheres to keep these doors. However, I must admit that the door afre of good quality... -
Im a project manager myself doing commercial work. But i still get a "main con" to renovate my house... reason being that I dont have so much CASH to pay my contractors. Renovation loan is pay by the bank to the contractor directly. Therefore, if you dont have so much cash to spare, the next best alternative is to engage a Id or contractor. Since Im in this line, thus the margin my main con got from me is @ 12%. Personally, I think its fair.

you can actually install a DVR set with one of your camera facing the walkway to record. alternatively, place a dummy camera at your door step to deter crime..

As with all solar flim installed in the car, no matter how good it is, your car will be as hot after @ 4 hours of direct sunlight. with or with out solar flim. Therefore, if your getting afternoon sun, even with solar flim installed, your house will not be much cooler.... The rational is the same as putting you meat in the freezer, no matter what kind of packaging you have, it will freeze eventually, just a matter of time.

This dark line is a common issue when using laminate. This can be corrected by telling your carpenter to mix the paint to your laminate's colour and paint over the lines. Hokkien is call "tua chaq"or (pull paint). Alternatively, is to have ABS edging done. Or you can choose to have colour core laminate. This laminate's core has the same colour of your surface, price wise would be higher..... What I would suggest you to do is to tell your carpenter to touch up the lines by painting it over. Its industry practice for it to be done.

If the contractor tells you he doesnt have stock, tell him you have some contacts and would gladly sell the same tile to him. just wack him a sky high price and demand that if he cant find stock, he will need to buy from you. This bed maker of mine, told me the same crap after I placed a deposit. say the fabric I choice no more stock blah blah blah.... and recommended me some other fabric thats "more expensive".... Told him that I can get the fabric and he would have to reduce the price by $35/sqm if I were to provided him with it.... in the end, his boss decided to "specially indent" the fabric just for me. If this anit a load of bullsh*t, what is?

Its common for plywood to warp.... thats y if you see the cross of the timer you use, it would not be a full piece of timer, you would see rectangle shapes of different shades. this will prevent warping. then again, if the timer is 4' X 8' it should be fine, warping would be pretty minimal... the doors, backwalls I've built seldom has this problem.

i got the castle one... .as per the one you see in the lift. That guy selling for 150 i heard... but got it at Sing Ma Hup Kee Hardware @ 112 after GST.

if you wanna your hss door to open till more than 90 deg, you just need to do a larger feature wall door. however, i dont see the point to have the hss door opening till more than 90deg... Im in the 5 rm unit, thus my feature door can be larger to allow the hss door to swing out more. cant comment if its a 4rm.

I did all the above... 1) unfortunately yes. inless you have the budget to re-pipe your house..... 2) im ard 1.7m tall. all fine.h

correct, it will be more difficult to clean compared to conventional matt laminate. matt laminates, you just need to use the cloth to wipe from left to right once. But using textured laminated, you need to wipe from left to right then back to left..... thats a 100% increase in effort required. scary ya...... end of the day, if you like it, get it!

My HSS is painted too! this should be included. I was kind enuff not to insist those wall supposed to be covered by my WIW and wardrobe to be painted nicely.... let them off with just one coat thats not even.
-
Its normal to see some wavy effect when gloss laminate is used. Blum Motion for your kitchen.. nice choice! you used the "electrical" blum?... the one that you touch and it "pops"
-
I got the same sink too... top mounted it. dont have picture of it. tried to upload some other pic b4 but cant seem to get it done everytime....
-
Home fix has it too...i didnt get from there. my door slides in front of the DB. using the magnetic one for my main door. no hinderance if its 5 room
-
The magnet is strong enuff. Im using it myself. Nope. no sealer on my walls.... if you wanna do sealer, I would advise you to do all. not only certain wall
-
I got my door latch too... any hardware shop will have. @ 4.50. As for the door stopper, i bought the magnet one. i feel the one in the pic will be too hurtful if i were to step on it bare-footed.

Hi all, I have a 30L ariston storage tank, theres a warning label saying not block the release valve, but my plumber told me otherwise when he installed it. Therefore, is it really neccessary to install / connect that release valve??
-
i had my holes in the tiles. but with metal spring mechanism type of plug placed in to prevent dust collection. they should drill and insert wall plug b4 screwing. hammering is the easy way out. However, not much difference if its into wall. you normally wouldnt be able to pull the socket out in the event of jammed plug. But if the 13A point is to be on timber or MDF board or gypsum board, insist on wall plugs and screwing!
